Episode 1 : The Chairman’s Dark Secret
Nikky rush out of the chairman’s office looking terrified and sad, the horror in her eyes can boil a egg. We didn’t know what happened in that room but it must be something terrible and sad.
She adjust her torn dress and she run holding her tears which is running like a young mad river.
She sat in a corner crying hard when two of her friends came looking worried. Being a celebrity she can’t cry in a public place else everything will be on the newspaper tomorrow.
“ what happened girlie? ” Becca asked but she shook her head not wanting to say it.
“ I saw you rushing out of the chairman’s office what happened? And why is your dress like this? ” Ashley also asked but the terrified girl won’t say anything there is blood on skirt but she hold it firmly so no one will see.
She walk away leaving them worried while no one knows what is wrong with her.
The next day her friends sat in front of her house waiting for her to get out but she didn’t come out they had to bribe the gateman so he can open the door for them.
Her manager and Producer also came looking for her but they left when she won’t open the door.
“ Nikky what happened? Tell us we are your friends ” Becca said removing the blanket from her body.
“ he …. He… Raped me ” she said with a shaky voice.
“ who? The chairman? Oh common girl you are not making sense why will he? ” Ashley said with her American accent.
“ I’m telling the truth ” .
“ aren’t you guys dating? You should have allow him to do it with ease ” Becca said with a mild laugh.
“ no we are not dating!! ” Nikky cried.
“ don’t try to decieve us everyone knew the truth beside what’s wrong with you having sex with your boyfriend? Even your fans knows you are dating the chairman ” Becca said.
“ we are not dating I swear ” She cried.
‘ who this one wan decieve? Are you scared because he have a family? ’ said Ashley.
“ what are you guys saying?! Leave me alone! ” frustrated Nikky yelled and they hissed.
The next day Nikky is on her way to her old house when reporters storm her. While her bodyguards are protecting her from crowd she quickly enter her car and she drive away crying hard.
“ I’m an honest man in the eyes of the people they will never believe you ” the words of the chairman ring inside her head.
“ my friends didn’t believe me so no one will” she thought while driving she couldn’t even concentrate until she saw herself heading to a tree. She screamed till her voice left her and she end up hitting the car on the tree. Although she isn’t hurt that much but her scream cost her a great thing.
Episode 2 : New Beginnings and Friendships
Adrian’s POV
The day is just cool today and extraordinary bright except for the hot sun that is threatening to burn my skin well that how it is in Ghana.
“ hey man Eti sen? ” Kojo my Ghanian friend asked.
Well my name is Adrian, I’m a Nigerian but base in Ghana because I studied and being a brainy fella i got a job quickly. Ghana is a great country with friendly people like Kojo I have female friends too like, Akosua also know as Jenny. She is a Ghanian Nigerian, her father is one of the important person in Nigerian but her mother is Ghanian and she was born in Ghanian I heard her parents divorced that’s why she is with her mother.
Akuma another girl who is also a plain Ghanian, she works as a supervisor in the company where I work. I’m a civil engineer and with my hard work our company always get many contracts all over the country even in Nigeria too.
“ Eh ya. My gee have you seen Akuma today? ” I asked him although I understand few Ghanian words but speaking is a little bit hard for me I don’t know why maybe because I have no interest in learning the language but my three friends always force me by speaking the language freely with any bit of English in my presence I hope you know how much that hurts. When your friends are speaking the language you don’t understand in front of you aww it hurts so much.
“ no ”
“ f**! Boss is looking for her seriously ” I cussed.
“ hey I’m sorry I know I’m late forgive me ” Akuma said loudly behind me and I sigh that’s her problem any small thing she always say forgive me making me feel guilty.
Fera’s POV
Oh my poor Nikky I can’t bear seeing her like this. She is the opposite of what she used to be ever since she left Nigeria that’s why I hate fake friends.
My name is Fera I am her nanny, she grew up with me since her parent died when she was little. I taught her how to sing since I’m a fan of music, Nikky grew up loving music with all her and I’m always there to support her because I love her like my own daughter.
Her parents are good people and I can’t pay good with evil but since Nikky became a star she have so enemies around her and the poor girl didn’t know she is keeping her enemies as her friends. I knew Ashley to be a cunny lady and I can see jealousy in her eyes but my Nikky is too blind to see it.
While packing the plates I saw a note on the table which read “ nanny I’ll be back later I just want to take a look at the great Accra city ”
I heard her footsteps and I raised my head to see her wearing a pink dress and a blue hat holding a sunglasses.
She smiled giving me sign that she is going now. Yes Nikky can’t speak, the accident cause her a great thing and that’s her voice box. She screamed too much stressing her voice and when she woke up in the hospital she couldn’t make a sound.
Episode 3 : The Struggle of a Voiceless Singer
She hug me and I pat her hair but she frown I know what she meant by that. Although she is smiling acting like everything is fine but oh no! My Nikky can’t speak again and she can’t do what she love doing most that’s singing. You can’t understand her pain and do you know the worst that can ever happen to a singer? That is losing her voice so bad. She is just smiling but she is actually depressed.
I try to talk to her about doing surgery but she won’t answer, she want chief Badmus in prison before she can do anything but what she didn’t know is that without her voice she can’t do anything to him.
Adrian’s POV
Auch I’m really stressed today, helping Akuma is something else, she is to supervise not me I wish this won’t cause problems between her and Akosua. Akosua is hot tempered, I know both girls like me and I like them but Akosua think of it as something I don’t know what to do with her anymore she always frown whenever Akuma and I are together. I don’t love them but I like them as friends but Akosua’s is too troublesome.
“ Akuma I have to go home now I’m tired see you tomorrow ” I told her because I’m tired walking with her.
“ OK Bayo see you tomorrow ” she said calling me by my native name seriously Akuma is something else I swear.
I trekked to the car park where my car is and I am surprised to find another car behind my car oh sh*** I hate this situation.
I wait in my car for twenty minutes but the owner won’t come.
She actually cane after ten minutes with two bodyguards wow rich lady but I hate that the fact that she delayed me.
“ hey lady ” I called and she turn looking at me with unsure eyes.
‘ you delayed me for thirty minutes because you parked your car at the wrong place ’ I said after a deep sigh and she waved her hand seriously I hate proud people.
“ won’t you say sorry? ” I fumed angrily attracting the attention of her bodyguards but I’m not afraid.
She just enter the car, her bodyguards try to do something but she stopped them by raising her hand and they also enter the car driving away.
how can a lady be so proud? Oh thank goodness she stopped her bodyguards.
The night fall quickly and I noticed I’ve run out of groceries oh I have to run to the nearby supermarket to get that eww being a bachelor is so hard.
I saw the same lady with an elderly woman smiling as they pick stuffs together. They must be so close.
“ we met again? ” I saw tapping her shoulder this time she is not with her bodyguards so I’m actually bold to do anything.
“ who are you? ” the woman asked me oh?
“ Nikky have you met him before? ” the woman asked her and she shook her head negatively staring at me with innocent look oh it is not even up to two hours and she forgot me so easily? Well that’s what proud people do snubbing.
“ the guy you delayed for thirty minutes by parking your car at the wrong place ” I said angrily.
She smiled holding her phone she just typed something and the woman read it aloud “ oh sorry ” the old woman said.
This girl is strange can’t she talk?
“ OK but can’t you talk? ” I asked still not satisfied.
“ she already apologize what else do you want? ” the woman yeller and the girl nod like a lizard.
“ no I want it with her mouth ” I replied and she collect the phone from the woman and she type something again and she show me the text which reads
“i can’t speak if that’s what you want to hear argue with your frustration ”.
Episode 4 : Misunderstandings and Apologies
I have never been so guilty in my life, I learn a great lesson today. Never judge people when you don’t know their situation. So that wave earlier actually mean sorry.
“ Ryan you look somehow what’s the matter?” Kojo asked opening a can of beer.
“ I made a little mistake today ”.
“ you ask Akosua out? Because that’s the great mistake one can ever make? ” Kojo said slapping his head.
“ no not like that beside Akosua is our friend you shouldn’t about her like that. I met a lady today, she parked her car in the wrong place behind my car actually delaying me for thirty minutes I confront her but she said nothing ” I said scratching my head.
“ that means she is rude ” Kojo said and I shook my head.
“ no that’s because she can’t talk ”.
“ oh I just made the same mistake too I judged her ” Kojo said slapping his head.
Hard.
“ Kojo if you see this babe you won’t believe she can’t talk so beautiful seriously. I think she is not Ghanian her name is Nikky she just be a Nigerian ” I said happily smiling like a kid who just got a piece of candy.
“ wow my friend is in love ” Kojo grinned wickedly.
“ hey there is no way you fall for someone you just met! ” I yelled at him but he only laugh.
“ you are in love already I’m telling you I will like to meet this girl who stole the heart Akosua and Akuma couldn’t steal for eight years in just thirty minutes ” he clapped his hands don’t mind him that’s how he always does saying nonsense.
Fera’s POV
My girl is smiling today I don’t know why well that’s great but whatever is making her smile I’ve got to keep it around her so she can smile everyday.
“ nanny Fe do you think the chairman will be punished one day? ” she text me and I sigh, she sat in the balcony enjoying the great view.
“ my dear you just have to do the surgery to restore your voice and you can expose him with your songs ” I said hugging her but she shook her head negatively signifying she won’t do it. Oh my poor stubborn girl I wonder when she become so stubborn huh.
“ my detectives are working on it the will get him into prison soon and when I step into Nigeria again it will be to greet him in prison and it will be a shocking appearance ” Nikky said through a text wow I didn’t know she is planning something like this she couldn’t tell me.
“ that man at the supermarket he is handsome isn’t he? ” I asked teasing her and she smiled raising her finger which signify “ nanny you have started again ” .
“ if you have someone like that as a boyfriend I wouldn’t have any fear he will take care of you for sure ” I teased her more and she walk away covering her ears.

Adrian’s POV
I left Kojo in the room to get some fresh air then I saw a feminine figure sitting alone pressing her phone it looks kinda familiar. I move closer and she raised her head must have heard the footsteps, its that Nikky girl wow I don’t know she lives nearby.
“ hi ” I said and she waved her hand that’s when I noticed she is actually listening to music.
“ I’m sorry for judging you earlier ” I said scratching my head, she just smiled.
“ its okay ” she typed and I sigh.
“ give me your digits let’s talk on whatsapp it’s weird with me talking you typing let’s type together ” I said giving her my phone which she collect and she typed her number almost immediately and she gave it to me again.
Me: how you doing?
Her: excuse me before I answer what is your name?
Me: oh I’m Adrian Adebayo
Her: oh you are a Yoruba? From Nigeria right?
Me: yes and I suppose you are too.
Her: of course .
Me: you haven’t answer my question.
Her: oh I’m fine.
Me: were you born like this? I mean you know.
Her: no I was a singer actually I can talk but there is no sound to support it my voice box is the problem.
Me: I’m sorry about that.
Her: you don’t have to be I’m fine.
I stare at her for some minutes and I felt her pain, she is really strong losing one’s voice for a normal person is bad but for a singer she may die of depression.
Episode 5 : Nikky’s Haunting Memories
I carried her home because she is feeling dizzy and weak.
I knock the gate twice before her nanny open the door she was surprised but I place a finger on my lips to prevent her from making a sound.
I carried her to her room per nanny’s order and i lay her on the bed but she held my hands and she started shaking violently breathing hard.
I think she is having a bad dream with the way she is squeezing her face.
“ her memories are coming back ” Nanny said behind me.
‘ memories? ’
“ yes. The sweet dream which turn into the nightmare of her life ” Nanny said cleaning her own tears.
“ she use to be the singer everyone loves until she met a very important person which took an interest in her songs but we don’t know its her body he wants. He started inviting her for dinners, picnics and lunch together but my poor nikky took this as an act of kindness, she didn’t even notice the gaze in his eyes and the worst part of it is that everyone thinks they are dating so when he finally show his true colours there was no way nikky could take except the way to death she is been too stupid i know that its my fault for raising to be warm but look where warmheart lead my girl to? ” nanny said through tears, what a poor girl.
“ how did she lose her voice? ” I asked
“ it was an accident actually too much screaming ” she replied and I sigh.
“ who is this very important person? ” I asked again.
“ chief Badmus that’s all I know he is the leader of a famous political party ”.
‘‘ I’ll look into it I will have to leave now ’ i said trying to excuse myself but a tiny voice stop me.
“ don’t go ” .
What?! Is that Nikky?
“ dear did you just talk? ” nanny asked and all she does is nod unable to say anything again.
“ try it again ” Nanny said encouraging but instead she took her jotter and wrote “ I can’t its hard ”.
Nanny and I sigh together staring at her with unsure eyes.
“ I think she is getting her voice back ” nanny whispered but I can’t find that pitiful young lady again just a beautiful charming young lady who is making my head spin.

Akosua’s loud bang on my door woke me up from my perfect sleep.this girl what does she want early in the morning sef? I open the door and I can see her holding her phone with a picture showing Nikky on my back.

“ Ryan you have to answer me who is she? ” “ I told you my girlfriend ” I said with I don’t care expression.
“ but how?” she open her mouth but she couldn’t say the remaining words.
“ I was just going to introduce her to you guys she is from Nigeria and I like her we’ve been dating before I came to Ghana ” actually I’m marveled at my own level of lying seriously I couldn’t have made up all that right?
“ so thats why I didn’t have a space in your heart? ” Akosua said with a teary eyes.
“ I’m sorry ”.
Oh my mouth! Ryan you can lie which type of lie is this? You didn’t even ask the girl out oww now double jinx I’m late for work.
Fera’s POV
Bright morning indeed, the maids serve the food and I can see nikky is smiling. A note is beside her plate, I took it and I read “ I want to start learning how to bring my voice back just like a baby who’s learning how to talk, I want to sing again for you nanny and for Ryan and I don’t care about chairman or Ashley anymore all I want is to sing again ”.
Wow nikky you finally reconsider such a good good news!
“ Nanny ” she said not quite audible but I can hear the faint sound wow dear is actually learning to put her past behind her.

“ and someone’s going to deny she is not in love what a life ” I scoffed.
“ nanny we are just friends Ryan and I have nothing between us okay? ” she said with that cat like voice.

Adrian’s POV
Work today is just too much, I have to supervise the, welding job and of course I’m involved. We are building and five story complex so it needs a lot of metal works.
Too busy with what I’m doing I didn’t even notice something is coming.

I rushed to the hospital and I saw a lady sitting on a chair nearby,
“ oh isn’t this nikky? The superstar? You are the one Ryan keep texting? ” the lady rush to me and I couldn’t concentrate on anything
“ yes ” I manage to answer
“ you are dead, its all over Nigeria years ago Nigerians believe you’re dead ” the lady said walking away.
Episode 7 : An Accident
“ what? I’m not dead I just had a little accident that’s all where is Ryan?” I asked puzzled.
“ you are not dead? Your best friends and even Chief badmus announced your death. They said you died in an accident I have the newspaper with me ”
“ what?! We will discuss this later where is Ryan? ” I asked with sweat coming on my head just then a doctor came out of the ICU and he walks towards us.
‘ he is alive but unconscious he will need sometime you can visit him now ’ the doctor said and I look at the lady we rush in together..
I move closer to the bed doing a perfect job of holding my tears I sat down looking at him. I know I’m stubborn and he is also stubborn I love him but I just won’t admit it and I know he feel the same way too. I just pray he wake up soon or I won’t be able to forgive myself.

Chief badmus sat in his office thinking about the recent incident, the new victim he raped isn’t a jelly as nikky, she is planning to tell the world. He can’t believe Becca set him up just to get justice for nikky. The girl is even ready for it like a paid prostitute doing her job.
He sigh then his secretary barge in looking terrified holding a tablet, she gave it to him.
It was then he knew the rape incident was perfectly recorded.
After nikky’s death, Ashley and Becca fought and went on their separate ways. Ashley is working with him while Becca is working against him looking for all means to bring him down and right now he’s fallen deep into her trap that nothing can save him. His innocent and trustworthy face has been ruined now people know his true colors.
As if leaking the sex tape isn’t enough, Becca went ahead to hold a press conference telling the masses about the cause of Nikky, their beloved singer’s suicide. She told the masses everything about and even seek for the forgiveness of the dead because she didn’t believe nikky too then but now she has repent now seeking justice for her friend and she didn’t even know she is alive in Ghana. What a world.
The masses are now protesting, demanding the arrest of the chairman and justice for the singer.

I held his hands the whole night waiting for the miracle and he did move his fingers clutching my hands. My lost happiness return as he open his eyes oh my Ryan.
“ I thought I lost you Ryan ” I said hugging him but he said nothing.
‘ why are you forcing yourself to speak? I understand you don’t have any sound to support it your mouth is just moving ’ he said and I became confused, I can talk everyone can hear but how? Did I become mute again?
“ hey Ryan I can talk seriously ” I said again but he just stared at me like I said nothing.
“ doctor!!! ” I screamed and he rushed in immediately.

“ what are you guys doing? Moving your mouth? I can’t hear anything! ” he shouted obviously he is angry but Ryan can’t hear us? God don’t let it be what I’m thinking.
Episode 8 : Coping with a New Reality
He just stare at us as if we are saying nothing then my phone falls making a terrible loud song but he isn’t even moved.
Oh no my Ryan is deaf oh no not my Ryan. I don’t know how to even talk to him about his deafness. I couldn’t even hold my tears it just keep rushing.
“ what happened nikky? What is wrong with you princess? Write it on a paper I’ll listen to you ” he said with much affection and he didn’t even know what’s wrong with him with a shaky hand I grab a piece of a paper I couldn’t do it I just write I love you instead.
“ come on nikky you are too old for all this child play. So because you want to tell me you love me you had to cry? I also love darling I love you with all my heart my queen ” he said pulling me closer to sit beside me. He look deeply into my eyes before kissing me. The kiss last for five minutes but my heart still hurt thinking about his deafness but maybe we should skip that part.
The door flew open during the intimate moment and the lady I met earlier enter with a man and another lady of the same age.
‘ Akosua ’ Adrian said still holding my hands but instead I gave the lady I met earlier a sign that she should meet me with others.
“ Akosua please excuse them for a moment we need to talk ” the young lady said but Akosua won’t listen.

“ he can’t hear? ” the man who follow the ladies asked and I nod my head sadly.
“ what? Are you joking or what? Akuma tell me what this lady is saying is not true” Akosua shouted but Akuma nod her head sadly.
‘ nikky are you by chance hiding something from me? What is happening here?’ Ryan asked again and I took the pen and paper again with a shaky hands I wrote “ Adrian I’m so sorry to tell you this but you can’t hear anymore. You lose your sense of hearing due to the loud sound the metal made ” I gave to him and his face fell when he read it there was silence for about ten before he broke it.
“ so that’s why I couldn’t hear you? You were obviously saying something but I’m the one who couldn’t hear? When did you regain your voice? ” he said with a cold face.
‘ I want to make it a surprise for you on your birthday but unfortunately I won’t be able to sing for you today ’ I wrote in another piece of paper.
Others just stood there watching us even the stubborn Akosua.
“ so you are the singer who lost her voice? And now he is the one who can’t hear? What a sad Melody! ” Akuma said with pity.
Ryan stand up suddenly and he ran outside with great speed that we couldn’t catch him.
We look for him in the entire hospital but we couldn’t, its now getting late but we couldn’t find him.
I take a walk along the road and I found him on my favorite spot, the bench beside the road I take a seat beside him and I notice he is crying.
Episode 9 : Nikky and Adrian’s Growing Bond
Adrian’s POV
I can’t even understand what this life is base on, I waited for so long to find love. I found one but she is mute, when she finally get to speak I became deaf what a beautiful sad melody! Now everything seems like a sad song. What a life! I wish she can just find someone who will love her and get to hear her voice not like a deaf like me. Someone who will cherish her voice and her music because I don’t think I can. I ran away from the hospital because my life is a waste and I don’t think I need any treatment again but I felt a familiar hand on my shoulder I turn around to see her standing before me with that angelic eyes.
She sat beside me saying nothing she bring out her phone and before I know it a mdssage beeped on my what’sapp it reads ‘ I will be your ears just like how you were my mouth when I couldn’t sleep ’ I stare at her and she smiled giving me a warm hug.
“ really? ” I said and she nod. I can feel hot tears on my shoulder “ seriously princess please don’t cry or I will cry too ” I said jokingly and she hit me hard.

Its great seeing Ryan joke like like that at least I’m relieved. I rest his head on my shoulder and I started singing.

When I saw that girl with him earlier I want to strangle her till she run out of breath but there’s nothing I can do everything is just like film. Ryan is now deaf and hey there’s no way I can cope with dating him though it hurts to see him. Like that and with another girl but I guess I have to move on with my life and finally face my studies for once! Ever since I fell for Ryan I lost interest in my studies gathering many Fs even Akuma that was my junior is now working while I’m still struggling with my final papers. I guess I have to make changes.
Nikky’s POV
Its my first time in Ryan’s house though he do come to mine almost everyday oh god I forgot to call nanny she must be worried. I quickly sent a text message to her saying I won’t be home tonight. His house is wow beautiful and classic, it well furnished and I like it. Who knows if it will be my future house awww Can’t wait to see his bedroom don’t get me wrong I just want to see it not to do anything funny cause I know you are thinking about something else.
While he is taking a bath I change into one of his pyjamas oversized though. I cook a wonderful Amala and egusi soup for him.
“ wow smells good ” he compliment and I blushed, watching him as he devour everything.
“ its been a while thanks for the meal ” he said and I wonder what is wrong with my cheeks tonight just blushing anyhow.
An hour later
We suddenly remember hospital! Goodness God he suppose to be in the hospital but here he is enjoying every bit of my romance.
Hospital can wait but this moment is rare we will go back tomorrow.

Nikky’s POV
I think its time to go back to Nigeria to continue my life. Ryan got transfered to the company’s branch in Nigeria and I heard the chairman is in prison I actually paid him a visit to mock him of course. I forgive Becca and I move on with my life again in Nigeria though I hate being pitied but my fans got used to me again and I started singing.
“ Ryan open your eyes ” I told him after ordering him to close his eyes for close to five minutes. I actually got a hearing aid for him.
“ I didn’t think about this you are such a goddess nikky I love you ” he gave me a hug collecting the hearing aid from me.
Finally he’ll be able to hear me sing for the first time.
After singing he just smiled and he carried my small body in his wide arms. He stare into my eyes before planting a kiss on my forehead then my lips which I respond to immediately. Like a beast pouncing on a prey we tore our clothes apart (*sigh what am I going to wear?)
Not letting my legs touch the ground he carried me straight to his bedroom and what are you still reading? Do I need to go so far for you know what happened?
Adrian’s POV
She is just too beautiful while sleeping, I wonder what I did to deserve a very good gift like this from the Almighty. A beautiful lady with good heart and soul, she open her eyes slowly. “ why are you looking at me like that? ” she muttered and then I noticed I was smiling like an idiot.
“ ah Good morning my queen did you sleep well?
” I asked and she stared at me with a kinda expression that scares me.
“ sleep well? Sleep well?!! ” she shouted.
“ why? ”
“ with all what you did yesterday? You expect me to sleep well? Auch my head hurts ” she said holding her head.
“ your head hurts? ” I try to touch her but she flinch.
“ just leave me. You almost killed me yesterday thank God I still have some strength left ” she yawned, naughty girl I know what she is talking about.
“ don’t you remember how you were screaming my name telling me Ryan don’t stop don’t.. ” before I can say the next word I got hit with a pillow courtesy of nikky.
“ what was that for? ”
“ well what am I going to wear? You tore my dress yesterday remember? ” she said scratching her head.
“ didn’t you do the same? ”
“ you have many clothes here and I have none ”
she shouted, she have a thing with shouting, I wish the quiet nikky is back oh that was when she was mute.
“ then should we get married so all your clothes will be here? ” I smirked and she smiled
“ are you proposing marriage right now Adrian? ” she asked with a smile.
“ maybe ”
“ hmm get me a dress and try again later with a ring next time ” her smile disappear seriously she can change expression.
I hurry to a nearby boutique and I bought a beautiful dress so she can go see nanny. She will be so worried.
‘ why are you there? I want to change na excuse.
’ she frowned at me and I felt the urge to laugh but I control it.
“ why should I excuse you? ” I said and she frowned more.
“ I want to change into the dress ” she said pointing to the dress I brought for her. She just stood there wearing a bathrobe and a bathroom slippers hands akimbo.
“ what is there we have not seen before? ”
“ what?! ”
