Marielle, scarred by her treatment back in Oceania, is cold and distant. Enter Riven, a rich, spoiled bully who bets he can date and dump her. But guess what? Love has other plans. So, here high school drama meets underwater magic, and nothing is as it seems.
She Is A Mermaid – Mermaid Transformation Story
Marielle was enrolled in the best high school in their city courtesy of her rich parents. Due to the way mermaids treated her on Oceania she became cold towards her classmates. She doesn’t speak nor sit with anyone. She sits alone always staring into space, she rarely talk unless she want yo ask a question or answer one.
This attitude of hers attract Riven a spoils rich bully’s attention who find every way to taunt her but Marielle regard him as childish. The game started when Riven bet with his friends that he will date and dump her but story come to a twist when he started falling in love with the cold girl he hated so much. Oh, and did I mention she has to learn how to walk and fit in with humans? Yeah, it’s going to be quite an adventure!

Episode 1 : A Mermaid on Land
Elle’s POV
I open my eyes lazily as the rays of morning light penetrate my bubble bed. I swam out of it to the palace hope I’m not in any problem with the queen.
I’m Marielle, a beautiful mermaid who is always ridiculed by her peers.
Other mermaids make jest of me because I can’t be traced to any lineage of mermaid I’m like an outcast but still I love water more than anything.
I swam with my shark friend and I said hi to dolphin and I pet the jellyfish.
“ Elle! ” Ariana yelled behind me. I turn and I know she must have a news for me, she is a friend to the destinies, the three seers bounded by their hairs.
“ Aria any news today? ” I asked and she smiled at me.
“ Elle I found out about your real parents, if you swim up to the right you will find a land inhabited by some strange beings. I heard they are called humans that’s where your parents are ” Aria said proudly.
“ one thing is that you can’t swim there ” Ariana added.
“ why ? ” I asked.
“ because the place is not like Oceania there’s no water. Humans walk they don’t swim so you will have to trade your tail with legs ”
“ legs? ”
“ yes two legs and hmm yes one of our kind is there she will help you yo find your parents ” Ariana elucidated.
I don’t know how I’m going to thank Ariana she is just too good to me. A good friend cannot define what she is now my journey to the human world begin.
I swam to the directions Ariana gave me and wow I saw something I’ve never set my eyes on before a place without water just air and land I was surprised to see my tails slowly fading it must be from the shell Ariana gave me earlier. I swam out of tgd water but I don’t know how to walk I see some humans doing it and I started learning little by little but not perfect because my legs is not that strong. I fell countless times till I reach the direction Ariana gave. I didn’t even know I’m naked and I’m lucky because its night already. I think our kind felt my presence she quickly drag me into her house.
“ Marielle right? ” she asked and I nodded.
‘ welcome to my house my name is Greeny ’ Greeny said and the name surprised me how can someone be named after a colour?
“ well my tail is green and shiny my parent picked the name from both words green and y from shinny that makes me Greeny ” sipping from the cup she is holding she explained.
‘ I bet your parents are waiting for you let me get you some clothes ’ Greeny said as she walk into one of the rooms.
Humans are lucky this house is so beautiful and I learn I won’t have to make water bed every night. Greeny taught me a lot of things before we slept and she really is nice to me. Another nice mermaid after Ariana.
The next morning with Greeny is so much fun before two human couple came. The lady look so much like me she may be my birth mother I think and I was proved right when she called my name.
My parents are really nice but I don’t want to trust humans that much I heard the pearls we cry can bring them a lot of fortune and they will do anything to get it from us.
I spent a week with Greeny learning and studying and she was surprised I memories things really fast. She told me my parent prepared an identity for me and I’m going to start going to school. How is this school like? Fun? I don’t think so but being with too many humans make me uncomfortable so I always maintain distance with them but now I’m going to attend a school filled with many humans? I don’t know how its going to be but I’ll try.**
Riven’s POV
“ Riven get up or you will be late for school ” I heard my mom yelled while struggling to open my door. Too bad I put a fingerprint lock on it,
“ Riven!!! Get your lazy ass out of that room at the count of ten 12…7 ” my dad yelled I quickly dash out of them room or else he’ll break the door I hate going to school but its somehow fun on some aspect like girls crushing on me I got some hot looks you know. Too handsome for my age, almost every girls are crushing on me and I kinda like the attention. No one fights or exchange words with me because I have a lot of back up from both males and females in my school.
After eating I walk sluggishly to the car the driver is already waiting so I just hop in giving him a go ahead he started the engine and he drop me at my school. Future pride high school.
Immediately I step out of the car a girl walk past me without greeting me oh? Maybe she didn’t see me.
On my way to the classroom I bump into the sane girl and she picked her books without giving a damn about me. Seriously me? Almighty Riven?
“ hey girl can’t you apologize you just pushed me” I yelled at her and she then back.
“ excuse me but I don’t remember ever pushing anyone you just bump into me and you are the one who suppose to apologize ” the girl shot back at me without any emotion.
“ don’t you know who I am? ” I asked swallowing my anger.
“ who you are? ” she laughed did she just laugh? At me? But there’s something strange about her is she new in this school?
“ is none of my business ” she added before walking away.
Episode 2 : The Game Begins
It seems this girl is new but also cold , I felt some cold blood run down my spine when she speaks, don’t get me wrong there’s no fucking way I’m afraid of her never!.
I enter the class and almost immediately our class teacher followed. A lady in her late twenties blond but smart cause some people always make jokes about blonds being naturally dumb.
“ good morning miss Morgan ” the whole class chorused.
“ good morning cuties hope you slept well? Or did you play video games all night cause I can see Emma dozing off ” Miss Morgan said pointing at the boy sitting beside the window and the class burst into a loud laughter. He is not only dozing off but also drooling lol.
“ quiet! ” she yelled and the class became as silent as a grave yard.
“ we have a new student her name is Marielle Hales please welcome her with open mind ” miss Morgan said and the new girl enter the class oh? Its that cold girl! She is new? That’s why she didn’t know who I am I guess so.
There’s an empty sit at the back so she sat there without saying hi just bowing her head. Miss Morgan isn’t surprised I think she have an explanation to this act.
“ don’t mind Elle she is always quiet ” miss Morgan said immediately she sat down that’s stupid she just speak to me this morning.
The girl looks weird she is covering almost her face with her hair and she wore glasses too she is just so ugly. I hate her.
Elle’s POV
I believe humans can’t be trusted and that boy just confirm my claims. I didn’t push me but he accused me of pushing him and later telling me to apologize? Humans are not to be trusted but I don’t know why I like my parents. I still can’t understand why humans gave birth to me, I’m the only mermaid without the mark of hade well maybe because I’m hybrid.
Every of my classmates make me feel uncomfortable, the boys stared at me with strange eyes while the girls just hissed at me, did I look some kind of different? No I’m not looking different from them why develop hatred for me at first sight.
I have two legs just like them and I’m not different in fact this can be compared to the way mermaids always treat me I’m Oceania well maybe I should leave this place to a far kingdom from Oceania that welcomes every stray mermaids I stretch my hands and my shell appeared I smiled and it vanish again.
“ hey newbie ” I heard the human’s voice beside me and true he is sitting on the chair beside me, I look away determine not to speak with anyone.
“ I’m talking to you! ” he shouted but I don’t give a damn.
“ I forgive you last time because you are new but next time let me warn you. Don’t avoid me like that anymore ” he added but I just close the book and I lay my head on the desk I’m tired of his rants he is too childish. Who does he think he is? Prince Edward? No he isnt of the merfolk so there’s no fucking way he is special.
I could hear the girls whisper all sort of bad words like “who does she thinks she is to ignore Riven like that? ” one with short hair whisper to her friend.
“ she is a dead meat wait till I get my hands on her I’m going to give her a good beating after the closing hour ” another one whisper. I could hear everything because of my special powers.
I stand up after the mathematics class and I started walking around the school till I get to the aquarium.
Wow its beautiful but why are they keeping fishes here when they belong to Oceania? Humans I hate them trapping innocent fishes here is out of the question!
I saw my jellyfish best friend there I quickly move closer to the glass.
“ ena ” I called her name she quickly swam towards me.
“ Marielle!! You won’t know how much I miss you ” Ena said happily and I touch the glass as if to touch her.
“ and you won’t know how much I miss you too. How did you get here? ” I asked and she smiled.
“ she can hear you? ” a dolphin asked Ena and she wriggle her legs to say yes.
“ hi dolpin which kingdom are you from?” I asked and the dolphin squeaks saying hi.
“ I’m from maidri the kingdom of queen Marielle and you? I believe you are from Oceania but sorry for bring nosy are you Marielle? ” the dolphin asked and I nodded “ I knew it Ena always talk about you. Finally have someone who can speak our language than those humans that takes pictures always ” a goldfish said behind the dolphin.
“ nice to meet you Elle ” the goldfish added.
“ oh thanks but ena you didn’t tell me how you got here ” I try bringing up the conversation but was interrupted by a voice.
“ who are you talking to? ” I turn my neck to see the childish boy behind me again.
“ you again? ” I gasped.
Riven’s POV
Seriously? I’m not dreaming am I? Is she really talking to fishes? Or is she crazy?
Episode 3 : High School Struggles
Riven’s POV
She turn around all fishes started swimming away. Who is this strange girl? I don’t know why I suddenly hate her she must be hiding something and I will make sure I find out.
She just walk past me without saying a word. Again? This girl is testing out my patience. I try to touch her but she is fast enough to snap her hands away.
“ who are you to ignore me? Do you know who I am?! ” I yelled but she continue walking without looking back.
“ if you continue ignoring me like this. School is gonna be a hell for you! ” I yelled again but she did turn and yes I got her she is going to apologize but instead she smirked. She looks scary no I’m not afraid of her I’m not there’s no fucking way!
“ don’t!”
“you”
“ ever cross my line because you won’t like it” she said slowly in a strange manner that almost made me pee in my pants.
“ humans ” she muttered before walking away.
I became mute for a moment, no one I repeat no one has ever moved me that way before,this girl is not ordinary eeew gross.
“ Riven ” Timmy of one of my best friends called and I turn to look at him, well he is looking cute as usual.
“ what’s the look on your face? You look like you just saw a ghost or something ” he said putting his hand across my neck.
“ I’m going to end that girl! ” I said clenching my fist.
“ which girl? Oh the new girl? The news is all over the school that the new girl ignore the almighty Riven ” Timmy said with a wide grin.“ the girl may be in trouble right now because. All girls in this school are already looking for her and you know this is gonna get bloody ” Timmy is a bad guy, he loves watching girls fight because of me he find it fun and he call it a game.
“ she deserve it after all ” I muttered but wait! Those girls will be the one in trouble because that girl is way too scary for them to handle.
Elle’s POV
That childish guy is so annoying. I can’t put up with any of his madness again. Showing up every time I’m trying to clear my head is too much for me to handle. I walk over to school’s restaurant with Greeny’s help I learn how to eat some basic human foods like veggies and meat and some fast food too but not the one that contain seafoods.
I order a pure vegetarian food because almost all non vegetarian food they got contain seafood.
All eyes fell on me but I don’t care
“ isn’t she the one that ignore Riven? She is not even pretty ” a girl said and her friends burst into a loud laughter.
If only they knew how I look like without this crazy wig and glasses. Mermaids are always prettier than humans I choose to dress like this because I don’t want all the boys in this school to lose focus on their studies while starring at me. I felt something hit my head and I turn to see a broken egg on the floor.
“ that’s what you get for treating Riven so bad ” A slim ginger girl said and I guess she is the one that threw the egg at me.I take a step closer and I smirked and I guess this act of mine surprise her. I touch her chin with my hands she try to remove my hand but I held still. I can see the scared look on her face oh this is fun.
“ you are pretty I guess. And I know you won’t want your pretty face ruined try this one more time and see if I won’t break your nose ” I whispered and there was a pin drop silence.
“ she is scary ” one of them said breaking the silence.
After munching on my veggies and fries I left the restaurant.
All eyes fell on me as I enter the class too, they couldn’t look at me in the eye not to talk of whispering bad words behind my back.
Ah words spread so fast in this school so interesting, they must have heard.
“ Marielle a word ” miss Morgan said immediately she enter the classroom. Morgan is also a mermaid like me and she knew who I am from the start and I also know she isn’t human but she is not from Oceania.
“ OK ma’am ”
I followed her to a quiet corner in the school.
“ Elle I know how you feel about humans but you don’t have to be so cold ” Morgan said drawing my attention.
“ Morgan I hate this creatures and that arrogant guy made me hate them ” I shrug my shoulder and she smiled.
“ just ignore him okay? ” Morgan said patting my shoulder.
“ I feel uncomfortable with humans that’s why I’m maintaining my distance ” I tuck my hands into my pocket rolling my eyes.
“ you will soon get used to it mind you I hate this crazy wig and glasses you look like a seaweed ” Morgan whisper trying to be funny but I don’t find it funny.
Finally the closing hour, the time I’ve been waiting for. I quickly pack my things and I head to the school gate only to find Greeny waiting for me.
Riven’s POV
Its closing time and I saw the crazy girl walking to an expensive Mercedes Benz wow her parent must be so rich.
“ Greeny oh I miss you ” she said excitedly as she walk to the car.
“ oh no Elle this is crazy why this look? I hate the wig and glasses. You aren’t the Elle I know. The Elle I know is pretty ” the young lady beside the Mercedes Benz said after hugging her seriously? This strange freak is pretty? I can’t stop laughing.
Episode 4 : The Aquarium’s Allure
Elle’s POV
Greeny came with a car and she drove me home, I asked her why when there is a driver but she said my parents just hired her as my personal driver. That’s cool at least I finally get to open my mouth since morning.
“ how is the school? Fun? ” Greeny asked.
“ yes at least I get to threaten those who try to bully me ” I laughed as I remember the look on that girl’s face.
“ try to make friends with them humans are fun to be with ” Greeny said but I nod my head negatively not now I don’t think I’ll ever make friends with anyone in that school.
Home at last, I sat on my bed well my parents make it mine but I just can’t understand why humans gave birth to me.
My mom look like me almost a mirror of myself. My dad is always busy so I don’t get to see him always.
“ Marie would you like some ice cream? ” my mom asked entering my room with two ice cream cups.
“ you are not trying to get me addicted to this thing are you? ” i askee with a sarcastic tone.
“ no Marie I can only give you what you want. ” my mom replied with a guilty tone as if I’m accusing her of doing something wrong.
“ mom I’m just joking ” I laughed and she also laughed along. “ mermaids do joke alot I know how is life underwater compare to the on you are loving now? ” she asked and I laugh. The life is almost the same, I still have some guys who bully me but the only difference is that I don’t dare threaten other mermaids but here? I can threaten whoever I want to.
“ its fun compare to underwater ” I laughed wickedly as I said those words.
“ really? I know you are going to find it fun ” mom said with a smile but I laughed wickedly
If only she knew how I threaten those students well let me keep quiet. I yawned and I stretch my legs well time for swimming.
Ariana’s POV
Life without Elle isn’t fun at all but no one seem to notice her at all. Is she that bad? I can’t believe every mermaids hate Elle if only they knew who she is. Elle will be back with full war and strength and I will be here to support her. When that storm finally come no mermaid will be able to conquer it except Elle.
I know by that time they will learn their lesson and finally queen Lucille will be swipe our with her entire generation.
Riven’s POV
I just hate this girl named Marielle, I’ve never seen someone so intimidating she is just scaring the hell out of me.
But her parent must be so rich to pick her up with such an expensive Benz.
Well my parents too are not that bad they are also rich and I have my own personal sport car but my driver always drive me to school every morning.
“ Riven ” I heard a girl call my name, what’s her name again? Hmm Elia ? Yes Elia her name is Elia she is the perfect definition of those blondes in blonde jokes so dumb. I wonder what she want to say this time.
“ yes Elia? ” I said rolling my eyes, I can’t lie I’m uncomfortable with her.
“ you even remember my name? ” she said clutching the little doll to her chest while I just stare at her with anger burning in my veins.
“ what do you want to say? ” I asked this time with a mild yell but her stupidity didn’t let her notice.
“ I don’t know how I’m going to say this but I love you ” she said bluntly and I’m not surprised this is not the first time I’m hearing those words from a girl and I know Marielle or whatsoever is her name will soon come running telling me she loves me and I will here to reject her with total firmness.
“ say something please Riven ? ” Elia said arching one eyebrow well I’ve even forgotten she is in front of me.
“ Elia but I don’t love you ” I replied in what seem cool to me and as of she was expecting that manner she ran away holding her tears. Its just not my fault I don’t love her woow I need to meet my friends.
Timmy and Fred are my friend since childhood and I find them fun and playful we have almost the same character but they don’t get much attention from girls.
“ why are you looking like this? Ven? You are not sick are you? ” Fred asked immediately the both see me.
“ he’s not sick its about the new girl ” Timmy laughed obviously stepping on my toes.
“ she dare scare me? I’m going to date her, make her fall in love then break up with her without mercy ” I said hitting the table with my fist.
“ are you sure you can date her without falling in love with her? You can’t even look at her in the eye if this is a bet just quit cause you’ve already lose ” Timmy said fueling my anger.
“ then let’s bet. I’m going to date Marielle then humiliate her in public I Riven will make her life miserable I promise ”.
Episode 5 : Beyond the Bet
Elle’s POV
My ear is tickling someone is talking about me but who could that be? I don’t want to know I need to sleep it must be one of the students I gave a scare well they can talk however they want.
The next day
As soon as I enter the class the students kept quiet they stare at me as if they just see a ghost. I walk to my and I was surprised my locker was decorated with silly things .
Like “ Riven love you ” “ my dear Elle ” “ I’m in love with the cold girl ”.
I know that childish guy is the one behind this, I just took my napkin and I clean everything off before throwing the napkin into the dustbin.
I stretch my hands to see if my shell is still intact I need to see Ariana.
“ hi Elle ” the childish guy said behind me and I sigh.
“ ah I forgot you hardly talk but I suppose you must have got my messages well I like you ” he grin widely as if he is under a strange spell.
“ Riven I hate you! ” a girl named Elia shouted in front of us.
“ Riven this unfair she is not even pretty you ignore us just to date her? This is unbelievable ” another one I later know as Tamara said well this girls are funny they can have their Riven I don’t care they should go to hell with their Riven huh.
I kept mute staring at the dramas the girls are making and about a minute later Morgan enter the class and everyone went to their seat quietly.
“ Tamara and Elia hope there is no problem? You both look uneasy ” Morgan said immediately she notice the look on the girl’s face, she look at my direction and I gave her a cold look.
“ Elle hope no problem? ” she asked with her mind, we mermaids always communicate with our minds.
“ nothing Morgan they are just some set of nuisance ” I replied giving her a smirk.
“ they are picking a fight with the new girl because of Riven ” Emma said interrupting our mind communication.
“ oh? Because of Riven? That’s crazy anyway get ready because you still have a busy day ahead ” Morgan said sighing then she left.
Break time finally came and I can see the childish guy named Riven coming to my direction oh I sigh this means opening my mouth and engaging in stupid conversation with him which I don’t want.
“ hey coldie ” he called and oh is that a nickname?
“ what is it? ” I gasp and he smiled.
“ wow you are talking today well you are now my girlfriend whether you like it or not we are dating ” he said proudly and I smirked.
“ says who? Why will I eve date you? Who are you? The President son? Or the finance minister ” I said with a mild laugh that disappear almost immediately.
“ says me Riven Jones! I’m now your boyfriend ” he said placing his hand on his chest.
“ but I Marielle Hale said I’m not your girlfriend and I will never date you ” I replied with a little yell.
“ do you know how many ladies I turn down because of you? ” he shouted but I don’t care.
“ none of my business ” I muttered loudly enough for him to hear.
“ I’m going to date you I swear ” he scowled and I laugh. Is it a force to date? I can even date him he is too childish for my liking.
Immediately he walk away I saw two guys following him. I s he by chance in trouble? Well what do I care?
Riven’s POV
I swear I’m going to make her pay for humiliating me and I’m going to find out where she is living.
Closing hour finally came and I move towards my car but the sight scared me, my driver has been murdered and I turn to see two guys behind me. I try to run but they were too fast so they caught me almost immediately and they drag me to a corner. Please don’t kill me is all I can say but these men aren’t listening.
Elle’s POV
I got a bad feeling that some one is in trouble whether I’m uncomfortable with them or not its my duty to save them. I quickly locate the scene with my special powers and I was surprised to see two men holding Riven at a gun point.
“ leave him alone just face me ” I shouted they turn stating at me as if I’m some kind of tsetse fly.
“ don’t butt in young lady its none of your business ” one of the man growl at me showing his brown teeth, tobacco is a bastard.
“ are you crazy? ” Riven said quietly while I smiled.
“ if I save you what will I get in return? ” I asked with a grin.
“ you are crazy fine I will be your servant for life ” he must have underestimate the power of a mermaid.
The men charge at me and i take them down almost immediately, human strength is just too weak for me. I watch some kungfu moves on YouTube yesterday and surprisingly I used them today.
Breaking their bones seems fun to me not because I hate humans but because they are bad guys.
I’ve saved him now I hope he will keep his promises. *winks.
