EPISODE 4 : Catherine’s Plea
Three days after Catherine moved her things out a part of me wanted to call her and sort out things but another part was wary of getting hurt, I was at work trying to figure out what to do when Catherine called me with her mothers phone,
I want to know if you’re home! I forgot something in your room! She said.
I’ll be home soon, I’ll call you when I am home!
Before I could ask her about her health she hanged up! My heart raced for ten seconds, I had to abandon everything I am doing in the office just to go home, i miss seeing her smile!
I got home and dialed her number but it wasn’t reachable, I dialed her mums number, her mother picked , when I said I wanted to talk to Catherine she asked” are you home now?
I was surprised, but I answered positively! Her mother ended the call before me.
I quickly took my bath , got dressed and waited for Catherine! She never showed up, instead her mother came! I kept my cool controlling myself not to ask about Catherine, but I couldn’t. I guess the love I have to her increased!
Where’s Catherine? And why are you here? Catherine was the one who called! I asked.
Catherine is divorced already, I am not here to have a discussion with you Jasper, you’re no longer my son-in-law because my daughter is no longer married to you! She’s single now, well, I came to pick up her pictures, her remaining stuffs, I can’t let any of my daughters belongings to be here!

I waited for Catherine’s call but she never called, by 7pm she drove in with her mother, knocked on my door, I opened!
She just walked straight to my room, I followed her , she started picking her pictures one by one, she picked every liltle thing she bought with her money!
Catherine, sending your mother here to do this for you was not right! I know we’re no longer married but that doesn’t give you the right to disrespect me!

The next day morning, I tried to call her but it was reading “number busy” I called her mother same thing! I checked her on social media and discovered that she has blocked me! I quickly got up from my bed without taking my bath or brushing my teeth! I drove home immediately! Luckily for me my father was home! I met him readin a news paper 📄
While my mother was seeing a movie, my brother was watching a video on his phone and my sister just sat close to my father.

I watched her leave the party!

Two weeks later, Catherine was registered in an hospital! It wasn’t easy for her but she had to be strong for her baby!
The craving, the sleepless night and the cramps , the nights she cried soaking her bed thinking of me and how her life turned out to be was something she endured alone , she was able to overcome it because her mum was always on the phone encouraging her, and her aunt always around to monitor her
She had everything done for her, there was never a day she called for assistance, the Catherine I know was financially buoyant when we first met! The journey was smooth cause she have her own money!
Catherine! Her aunt called.
Yes, Jasper! ! Oh my God! I am sorry, forgive me please! She said.
