Chapter 21 : Augustus and Aurora’s Fate

Ariana was picking on her food lost, Lyra noticed it and signed.
“Is this because of julian” she asked but Ariana didn’t respond.
“Ariana” she tapped her and she jolted out of her thought.
“What are you thinking, is this because of julian” Helena asked worriedly .

“Not really……..it” Ariana shook her head.
“What happened at the principal office?, why are you not telling us, did anything go wrong?” Lyra said at a time.
Ariana dropped the cutleries and leaned on the chair.
“C’mon speak up, you can’t keep it to yourself” Lyra urged.

“a woman came and claimed to be my mother, it hard to get that information correct” she signed.
“What!!! that unbelievable, but you said your parents died when you were young” Lyra muttered.
“Do you believe her” Helena asked skeptically.

“I don’t know, a part of me wants to believe her but the other part is confused, I don’t know what to do” Ariana mumbled.
“Why don’t you ask your uncle” Helena muttered and Ariana raised a brow.
“I’m not going back there, I don’t even think they know about it” Ariana said.

“Ok, do you have any pictures of your childhood” Lyra asked and Ariana shook her head.
“How about you ask that woman, talk to her….., she might be saying the truth” Lyra urged.
“How am I supposed to believe that” .

“Ariana don’t be dumb…… Hear her out first, I’m sure she did a lot before knowing you school here” Helena said and Ariana remembered what the woman said about her being in coma for years.
“This is hard to take in…” She blurted and Lyra pulled her into a group hug with Helena.

Lyra went into the laboratory to see Caleb waiting for her.
“Caleb” she called and he turned to her.
“What do you mean about the text you sent me” he asked.
“Caleb.. I….I…I think I” she shook her head.

“Lyra, I don’t want to break your heart so, stop the feeling you have for me and move on” he muttered.
“Why?……. It not easy to do, I’ve tried so many times but it’s not working”
“Sorry Lyra, I don’t want to hurt you” he said politely trying not to hurt her.
“But you are hurting my feelings right now” she said with a cracked voice as tears wailed up in her eyes.

“Sorry, I don’t do love” with that, he walked away leaving Lyra on her own.
She lost her balance and fell weakly on the ground as tears mustered in her eyes. she stood up and ran out of the lab as she crossed path with Stanley.

He saw her in tears and pulled her to himself while she wet his shirt with her tears.
He patted her back gently. “I want to forget about him, make me” she muttered in between her tears.
He signed and continued patting her gently “it okay”.

✨ RIELE’S MANSION ✨
Riele lounged in her home as she was watching a movie while sipping a juice. Her manager, john entered and bowed his head.
“I’ve gathered the evidence boss” John said.
“Then get ready, I’ll strike soon” Riele smirks.

✨ NORMAN’S VILLA ✨
NEXT DAY~CEREMONY
Julian was watching everything from his room as the preparation was going on in the garden.
He palmed his face and sat on the bed.
Just then, Cecilia entered Julian’s room, her voice firm but anxious. “Julian, you need to get ready. Our guests will be arriving soon.”
Julian lay on his bed, his eyes fixed on the ceiling. “I’m not going.”

Cecilia’s expression turned stern. “Julian, you’re not still grounded. You need to get dressed and get this engagement done.”
Julian shrugged. “Don’t care. I’m not going.”
Cecilia’s voice rose. “Julian, you’re being unreasonable! Get up and get dressed!”
Julian refused, his arms crossed.

Cecilia huffed and stormed out of the room. “Fine, I’ll get your father.”
Soon, Gabriel entered the room, his voice firm. “Julian, you need to get ready. Now.”
Julian glared at him. “No.”
Gabriel’s expression turned stern. “Julian, you have 10 minutes. Get dressed and downstairs, or you’ll face further consequences.”
Julian scowled but reluctantly got up, muttering under his breath.

Gabriel watched him, his eyes glaring hard. “I mean it, Julian. Ten minutes” he said sternly and coughed hard.
He covered his mouth so julian won’t see the blood dripping from it and walked out hastily.

Minutes later, julian got dressed lazily and took slow strides to the door and saw it unlocked. He opened it and check if anyone is seeing him.
Julian dashed towards the back exit, his heart racing with excitement and fear. He could hear his parents’ voices behind him, but he didn’t dare look back. He burst through the door and found himself in a dimly lit alleyway.

Just as he started to run, he felt a strong hand grab his arm, spinning him around. Gabriel’s face was stern, his eyes blazing red.
“Julian, what are you trying to do, escaping,” Gabriel said, his voice low and firm.
Julian struggled, but Gabriel’s grip was too strong. He tried to reason with him, “dad, please! I can’t do this!”

Gabriel’s expression turned unyielding. “You’ll do as you’re told, Julian. No more arguing.”
With that, Gabriel dragged Julian back into the house, determined to make him conform to their wishes. Julian’s heart sank, realizing his escape plan had failed.

Evander and his father were seen outside the mansion, Evander frowned when he noticed he is at Julian’s house.
“What are we doing here dad” he asked.
“You want to see your mother right” His father said and he nodded.
“Then here we are” he added.
“But is this not Julian’s house, is she living here” he squeezed his face.

ARIANA’S ROOM
Ariana got a message from Stanley that Julian is getting engaged today, her eyes widened as she saw it.
“Has he given up on us!!!” she thought, she hastily stood up from her bed and putting on slippers of different type before dashing out of her house she rented.

An hour later, julian was called out as the ceremony started, the guest aren’t much as they didn’t want crowd.
Julian and Evelyn stood in front of the alter ready to fix the engagement ring on their hands.
Evelyn has been smiling widely knowing she’ll finally get julian for herself, julian face was cold and stern, he hasn’t been talking to anyone ever since.

Someone stretched forward a ring to him and he looked back to see his dad glaring at him.
He hesitate before taking it, he shut his eyes tightly for a minute as the guest wondered what he was doing.
“Julian, what are you doing” Gabriel flared up.
Julian opened his eyes to meet his cold gaze, he saw Evelyn stretch her hands towards him smiling. Just as he was about to fix it into her fingers, it slipped off his hands.

He bent down to look for it but is so small as he couldn’t find the ring.
“What are you looking for” Cecilia asked.
“The ring, it slipped off my hands”.
“How can you be so careless julian” Joseph butt in.

“Forget about that, we just have to find that ring” Matilda muttered beside him as the maids searched for the ring on the alter.
One of them found it and everyone signed in relief. She gave it to Julian and he bit his lips. He was about to fixed it on Evelyn hands when a voice stopped him.
“Don’t” he remembers that familiar voice and turned back to see Ariana.
“and who are you to stop what is going on here” Cecilia snapped.
“Just don’t”.

“Who let this thing enter this villa, security” Cecilia barked and the security came immediately.
“How did this thing enter here” she asked and they glanced at each other.
“She said that she is a guest” one of them said.

“And you let her in, did she show you any invitation” Joseph asked and they shook their head.
“Now throw her out, your are all fired, incompetent fools” Cecilia flared up and they attempted to take her when someone interrupted them.
“How dare you call my daughter a thing”.
Everyone looked back to see Riele. Every step she took was fire as she got to them, everyone was shocked on seeing her even Gabriel, he hasn’t closed his mouth since he saw her.

Julian and Evelyn stood on their spot as they heard her.
“You surprised huh” she muttered.
“What are you doing here, aren’t you supposed to be dead” Cecilia grinned.
“Dead no, it not my time yet” she said and walked closer to Cecilia.
“just watch me, bitch” Riele whispered to her and Cecilia flinched.

“Does she have evidence,no she can’t” Cecilia thought.
“Riele”Gabriel managed to say.
“Don’t freaking call me yet” she glared hard at him.
She stood out as everyone eyes were on her.

“Have you ever thought of looking for Juliet?…………….” She paused as tears started dropping from her eyes and then continued “have you ever tried investigating, who ended my life and took Juliet away?.., have you ever done a DNA test to know if your son is yours?…” She paused again.
Julian heart started beating fast as he heard the word DNA.

Riele continued, “have you ever wondered who has been threatening you weeks ago?.. you are a coward, a coward Gabriel” she muttered admist tears.
“What are you saying Riele, you are disturbing the ………” Cecilia couldn’t finish her statement.
“Just shut it bitch, I ain’t done” Cecilia gritted angrily.
“This woman shouldn’t ruin my plans” she mumbled under her breath.

“Gabriel, you couldn’t even save me even when I was kidnapped” Riele muttered.
“Riele” he wanted to go to her but she raised her hands stopping him.
“Don’t move…..” She said, her voice dripping with venom and disdain.

“The woman you placed beside you, is the cause of everything, that bitch ended my life and took away our child, but you kept her by your side, isn’t that dumb” Riele said lowly above whispers and everyone gasped.
“Stop spitting rubbish Riele, I can’t possibly do that” Cecilia muttered trying to defend herself.
“Of course you did, and even worse than that” Riele grinned.

She took fast strides to the alter and pointed at Cecilia “This bitch here, drugged my husband so as to sleep with him but she didn’t succeed”
Riele stood tall, her eyes locked on Cecilia. “You’ve been hiding secrets for far too long, Cecilia. It’s time the truth comes out.”
Cecilia sneered. “Riele?”

Riele’s voice was steady. “I know about your past, Cecilia. About the family you abandoned, about your two sons, and About how you killed me and took my baby away all because of wealth, power and fame”
“Two sons” Gabriel repeated.
Cecilia’s expression turned cold. ” You don’t know anything.”

Riele continued, her words pouring out. “I know everything, about your affair with Landon, Gabriel’s brother. How you had his baby and passed it off as Gabriel’s. How you’ve been drugging Gabriel every day to kill him slowly” everyone gasped as they murmured silently.
“Landon!!!!!!!!” Gabriel gasped and it dawned on him at once, Landon has been the one threatening him.
Cecilia’s eyes narrowed. “What evidence do you have huh, you cannot prove anything”

“I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time Cecilia and I have everything to bring you down” Riele blurted.
She smiled. “I have a lot of it” she gestured to John and he played a voice note of her conversation with Landon
“RIELE IS GONE NOW’, ISN’T IT AMAZING.. SO WHAT NEXT” Cecilia voice echoed.

‘LET GET THIS DONE WITH, GO TO GABRIEL, LET HIM KNOW ABOUT THIS PREGNANCY, I’M PRETTY SURE HE’LL BE THAT STUPID TO TAKE YOU IN SINCE RIELE IS GONE NOW” Landon voice came out.
“WHAT ABOUT MY FAMILY, EVANDER “.

“ABANDON THEM, DON’T YOU WANT THE WEALTH AND FAME YOU WANT”
“FINE, BUT YOU SHOULD ALSO STICK TO THE AGREEMENT, ONCE I GET THIS DONE AND I’VE GOTTEN MY HANDS ON THE PROPERTIES, WE’LL TAKE IT EQUALLY”.

“JUST STICK TO THE PLAN, MAKE SURE HE TAKES THOSE DRUGS EVERYDAY, AND FORGET ABOUT YOUR STUPID FAMILIES”
Evander came in with his father, he had heard everything from the beginning to the end, he frustratingly left the garden while his father followed him.

“Evander….” He called.
“Do you bring me here to watch this, how come that woman is my mother, talk to me” he flared up.
“Evander understand, she left us when we were still poor, she nagged meso much since I wasn’t able to give her the life she wanted” His father said calmly.
“Shitty” he mumbled and walked away leaving his father behind.

Meanwhile, The voice note played more of Cecilia conversation with Landon and video of their affairs, John stopped the voice note as julian eyes widened in shock, it dawned on him at once “Gabriel isn’t his father” his legs wobbled and he fell weakly.
Cecilia started panting heavily as her eyes darted wildly around the garden, searching for an escape ” how did she get this much proof…….. I can’t just loose like this, I can’t go down, never……never……” She shook her head.

By the time Riele turned to Cecilia’s spot, she saw emptiness.
“Where is she, where is that bitch” Riele ranted and everyone turned to find Cecilia gone. She escaped.
Gabriel eyes spotted julian and Ariana on the floor.

“I’m so stupid” he mumbled wondering how why he didn’t think before letting Cecilia into his life.
Julian stood up and walked out the garden with a fierce look, he got to the garage, took his car and left the house. Ariana ran to stop him because he can do anything crazy but he left already.

Ariana looked around and took a car telling the driver to follow Julian’s car immediately.
“Follow him, follow him” she urged and the driver speed down the road.

Gabriel coughed literally hard than before, blood was dripping out and he fell while Joseph Held him safely.
“Gabriel what is this” he asked.
“You need to go to the hospital Gabriel” One of the guest blurted.

Gabriel waved his hands negatively “I’ll be okay, don’t worry” he mumbled
“You are vomiting blood Gabriel, this is much” Joseph said as Gabriel coughed harder.
“No…” Gabriel muttered above whispers and collapse on Joseph arms.
“Gabriel wake up..” Riele rushed to him and tapped his face.

Julian was speeding crazily running past cars like an expert, he was so lost in thought, he couldn’t believe that Gabriel isn’t his father and the woman he called a mother was a devil. He remembered what Riele said about her having two sons for two different fathers’and he hit his hands furiously on the steering.

He heard screams from outside and he looked up to see a truck coming towards, he wanted to turn but it too late as the truck crushed his car.
Ariana who was after him saw it and she widened her eyes.
“Sunshine!!!!!!!!!!”

Chapter 22 : The Power Play

The Nurses wheeled Julian who was covered in blood to the operating room, Ariana was weeping furiously as she wanted to go in with them but they draw her back.
“Miss you can’t come in” the nurses said, and Ariana moved back her hands hanging in the hair.

The doctors and nurses rushed around Julian’s bedside, their faces set with determination. Dr. Smith grasped the defibrillator paddles, his eyes fixed on the monitor displaying Julian’s flatlining heart rate.
“Clear!” Dr. Smith shouted, applying the paddles to Julian’s chest.

A loud beep echoed through the room as the machine delivered a high-voltage shock. Julian’s body jerked, his eyes remaining closed.
“Come on, Julian! Fight!” Ariana pleaded, her voice cracking with emotion from outside
The medical team repeated the process, administering another shock. Julian’s body responded with a faint twitch, his heart rate flickering on the monitor.
“Yes! He’s coming back!” Dr. Smith exclaimed.
As the medical team continued to monitor Julian’s progress, The monitor beeped steadily, a reassuring sign of his stabilizing heart rate.

Ariana paced outside the operating room, tears streaming down her face. “Please, God, save him,” she whispered.
Just then, a commotion broke out as Gabriel was rushed in, unconscious. Joseph and Matilda struggled to keep up with the gurney. Evelyn was among too.

Gabriel was wheeled to the theater and another doctor went in with some nurses.
They already heard of julian accident as they rushed to the operating room staring at julian from the glass window.
Riele, who had been watching from a distance, quickly moved towards Ariana. “Ariana, sweetie, I’m so sorry,” she said softly, her eyes filled with concern.

Ariana, still crying, didn’t seem to notice Riele’s approach. Riele slowly reached out and gently placed a hand on Ariana’s shoulder.
At first, Ariana flinched, her eyes flashing with anger. But as she looked up at Riele, she saw something there that gave her pause. It was a deep sadness, a longing to connect.

Riele’s hand remained on Ariana’s shoulder, her touch warm and gentle. “I know you’re hurting, Ariana. I’m here for you.”
Ariana’s defenses began to crumble. She felt a lump form in her throat as she looked at Riele. For the first time, she saw a glimmer of the mother she once knew.
Without a word, Ariana collapsed into Riele’s arms, sobbing uncontrollably. Riele held her close, stroking her hair and whispering soft words of comfort.

As they held each other, the tension between them began to dissipate. It was a small step towards healing, towards forgiveness.
“I’m here, Ariana,” Riele whispered. “I’m not going anywhere.”
In that moment, Ariana felt a sense of peace wash over her. Maybe, just maybe, she longed to have a mother by her side. Maybe they could start anew.

Evelyn went to julian operating room staring at the window while tears dropped from her eyes. She Cried more on seeing Julian critical condition and ran out of the hospital.

As the doctor emerged from the operating theater Gabriel was in, his expression was grave. Riele, Joseph, and Matilda anxiously awaited news about Gabriel’s condition.
“I’m afraid Mr. Norman’s situation is critical,” the doctor said, his voice somber. “We’ve discovered advanced lung cancer, and it’s progressed rapidly. He has approximately two months left to live.”

Riele’s eyes widened in shock, her hand flying to her mouth. Joseph and Matilda exchanged a devastated glance.
“No, no, no…this can’t be,” Riele whispered, her voice trembling. “He was fine, just a little weak…Oh, God, please…”
Riele wrapped her arms around herself, holding her close as she struggled to process the news. Ariana’s eyes brimmed with tears, her face pale.

The doctor’s expression was sympathetic. “I’m so sorry. We’ll do everything possible to make his remaining time comfortable. But I want to prepare you…the next few weeks will be challenging.”
Riele’s face contorted, grief and despair overwhelming her. “Two months? That’s all we have? Oh, gawd” she mumbled as she remembered the time they spent together years back.

“Can we meet him now” Joseph asked.
“He needs rest right now, he is becoming stressed all these days”
As the doctor nodded solemnly and departed, Riele, Joseph, and Matilda stood at their spot.
Ariana checked the Julian operating room but the doctor were still working on him. She wrapped her hands around herself and sat down on the nearest seat.

She checked her phone to see numerous missed call from Lyra Helena, Caleb and Stanley.
A call came in at that time, she checked and saw Lyra on it, she hesitate before picking it up.
“Ariana,” Lyra voice came but Ariana keeps sobbing not being able to respond.
“What wrong Ariana?…..okay where are you” Lyra asked worriedly.
Ariana managed to tell her the name of the hospital and she hung up.

<30 MINUTES LATER>
Lyra, Helena, Stanley, Kingsley and Caleb rushed to the hospital to see julian condition as their eyes widened.
They saw Ariana, her face was very pale…..and her eyes are red like she has been crying. Lyra and Helena went to her and hugged her to keep her calm.
“Ariana, he’ll be fine, Julian is very strong” Lyra urged and she nodded.

Dr. Smith emerged from the operating room, a look of relief washing over his face. The tension in the waiting room palpably dissipated as they all approached the doctor.
“The surgery was a success,” Dr. Smith announced, his voice filled with reassurance. “Julian is stable now, but he does have a concussion. We’ll need to monitor him closely.”

Ariana’s eyes welled up with tears, her voice trembling. “Oh, thank God. Will he be okay?”
Dr. Smith nodded. “He will be. But he’ll need to take the prescribed medication and get plenty of rest. No physical activity, no stress. And absolute cognitive rest no reading, no screens, no mental exertion.”
Caleb asked, “How long will his recovery take?”

“Typically, concussions can take several weeks to fully heal,” Dr. Smith replied. “We’ll schedule follow-up appointments to monitor his progress. But for now, let’s focus on getting him through the next few days.”
Ariana inquired, “Can we see him?”
Dr. Smith smiled. “Sure, But he’s still recovering from the anesthesia.”

Stanley expressed her gratitude, “Thank you, Doctor. Thank you for saving him.”
Dr. Smith’s expression turned warm. “You’re welcome. We’ll take good care of him.”
As the doctor left the room, their breath etched in relief as Ariana quickly rushed into the ward Julian is being taken to while others followed.
Ariana bent on the side of his bed, he was laid motionless as his head has been bandaged with some other part of the body that were seriously injured.

She took his hands as his warmt melt onto hers and a tear drop from her eyes.
Lyra gently touched her arm. “Ariana, why don’t you go home and shower up? Come back later, and Julian might be awake by then.”
Ariana shook her head, her eyes fixed on Julian. “No, I’m not leaving him. I want to be here when he wakes up.”

Lyra urged her, “Ariana, you need to take care of yourself too. You’ve been through a lot. Just go freshen up, and we’ll stay with him.”
Ariana hesitated, but Lyra’s words made sense. She stood up, her eyes never leaving Julian’s face. Just then, Julian’s fingers twitched, and his eyes flickered open. He gazed around the room, confusion etched on his face.

Ariana’s heart skipped a beat as she rushed back to his side. “Sunshine! Oh, thank goodness!”
Julian’s eyes locked onto hers, and he weakly smiled. “Lovebug…”
Ariana grasped his hand, tears streaming down her face. “I’m here, sunshine. I’m not going anywhere.”

Julian’s gaze shifted to his bandages, and he groaned, pain etched on his face. “What…what happened?”
Lyra quickly explained, “You were involved in an accident, Julian. But you’re safe now. You’re in the hospital.”
Julian’s eyes fluttered closed, and he took a deep breath. Ariana held his hand tightly, her heart overflowing with relief.
As Julian’s eyes opened again, he saw his friends gathered around him, their faces filled with concern and relief.

“Hey, man, welcome back,” Kingsley said, smiling.
Helena added, “We were so worried about you, Julian.”
Julian’s gaze shifted to each of them, his eyes filled with gratitude. “Thanks, guys…I’m glad you’re here.”

Caleb squeezed his hand. “We’re not going anywhere, Julian. We’re here for you.”
Lyra smiled. “We’ve been taking care of Ariana, too. She’s been a wreck without you.”
Julian’s lips curved into a weak smile. “Sorry, Ariana…I didn’t mean to scare you.”

Ariana’s voice was filled with emotion. “You didn’t scare me, Julian. You just…you just went away for a little while. But you’re back now, and that’s all that matters.”
The door opened and they all turned to see Gabriel on a wheelchair, he was supposed to be resting but he insisted on seeing Julian.
He dispersed others except Ariana and Julian turned to the other side of the bed ignoring Gabriel’s gaze.

“Julian, I’m not happy about this either, I really can’t believe your mum would do all these” he started and Julian eyes flickered.
“I’m still your father Julian, and you’ll still be my son, I’m sorry for not caring about your own feelings” he pleaded with teary eyes.
Julian didn’t respond and he closed his eyes. He can’t take the information in.

Gabriel gaze turned to Ariana and she saw him staring at her.
She lowered her head looking somewhere else.
“Juliet” he stretched his hands wanting to touch her but she cut him off.
“I’m not Juliet…….., I’m Ariana” she snapped and dashed out of the room with teary eyes.

She met Riele in the waiting room and went to hug her. “Is he really my father” she mumbled admist tears and Riele nodded.
“I don’t know how my life is right now but it like it’s turning around” she muttered.
“Juliet…. don’t say that, circumstances made it that way, you’ll be fine” Riele urged her and she nodded.
“C’mon it late, let get something to eat, I’m pretty sure you’re hungry” Riele draw her up and took her outside to her car.
“Where are we going” Ariana asked and Riele smiled.
“Home”.

Cecilia could be seen with Landon discussing in a secluded area.
“What did you just say Cecilia” Landon asked again.
“Our plan has fallen apart, Riele spoilt everything” She boiled furiously.
“What do you mean, we haven’t gotten his signature on the documents, that the only remaining thing” Landon hit the table before him hard and it broke into two.

“We can make use of someone else” Cecilia suggested and Landon raised an eyebrow “who?….”
Someone came in her face covered with a mask.
“Who’s she” Landon asked further.
The stranger removed the mask and it turned out to be Stephanie.

Stephanie smirked approached them “I’m Stephanie”.
Landon stared keenly at her and moved his gaze to Cecilia.
She went closer to him and he whispered something into her ears, she gulped down nothing and stood up.

“I guess I don’t have any problem being here” Stephanie shrugged.
“We need a new strategy to get Gabriel sign these documents” Landon brought out the documents staring at the empty space for signature.
“Well I can think of one” Stephanie wiggled her brow.

Landon gave her a questionable look and she continued, she moved closer and whispered something into their ears.
“Well do that, I can’t believe you have such idea” Cecilia muttered.
Suddenly, they heard a screech from outside and Landon stood up suspiciously.

“Someone is outside there” Cecilia lowered her voice only to their ears.
Landon check his wristwatch and saw it beeping red. “Shit, this place has been ratted out, the cops are here” he blurted and gestures to Cecilia and Stephanie to follow his lead.

As they sprinted towards the exit, the cops hot on their heels, Landon suddenly spotted a small opening in the wall, partially hidden by a stack of crates. “This way!” he yelled, darting towards the opening.
Cecilia and Stephanie followed close behind, their hearts racing. They squeezed through the narrow opening just in time, as the police were mere seconds behind.

On the other side, they found themselves in a cramped alleyway, dimly lit by a single flickering streetlight. They paused for a moment, listening intently as the police searched for them on the other side of the wall.
“We need to keep moving,” Landon whispered, his eyes scanning the alleyway for any signs of danger. “We can’t let them catch up to us.”

Together, they made their way down the alleyway, their footsteps echoing off the walls as they desperately sought safety from the pursuing police.
They got out of the secluded area to a crowded street, they stumbled upon a small, unassuming food truck parked in a quiet alley. Landon flashed a sly smile. “Our ride out of here.”

Stephanie’s eyes widened as Cecilia opened the door, revealing a sleek, high-tech interior. “Whoa, this is some serious spy stuff!”
With Landon at the wheel, the food truck sped through the streets, weaving past police cars and pedestrians. Cecilia and Stephanie held on tight, their mind in relief.

As they reached the outskirts of the city, they stopped the truck in an old abandoned house.
“We’ll stay here till it time to execute our plans, but for now, we’ll lay low” Landon stated as they walked into the old house.
“This place looks creepy” Stephanie said irritatingly on seeing the cobwebs that covered the house.
“This is like a secret lair” Cecilia exclaimed.

✨ RIELE’S MANSION ✨
Riele took Ariana to her mansion not too far from the hospital.
As they stepped out of the car and onto the grand driveway, Ariana’s eyes widened in awe. “Wow, this is… quite a place,” she stammered, gazing up at the imposing mansion.

Riele smiled, a hint of pride in her voice. “Welcome to my home, my baby. I’m glad you like it.”
Ariana’s eyes scanned the lavish gardens, the sparkling fountain, and the sleek glass windows. “It’s… incredible. I had no idea you were so… wealthy.”

Riele’s expression turned gentle. “I know I didn’t raise you with all this luxury, but I wanted to provide for you in my own way. I’ve worked hard to build a successful business, and this is the result.”

“Wow, this looks amazing!” Ariana exclaimed, her stomach growling in anticipation.

Riele smiled, pleased about it. “I’m so glad you’re excited! This dishes is my favorite, and I’ve missed sharing it with you.”
As they sat down to eat, Ariana asked, “What’s this dish?” pointing to a spicy-looking stew.
“That’s kimchi jjigae,” Riele replied, “one of my favorites. Try some!”
Ariana took a cautious bite, and her eyes lit up. “Wow, this is so good!”

Riele laughed, delighted to see her daughter enjoying the food. “I’m glad you like it! There’s so much more to try.”
As they ate and chatted, Ariana felt a sense of connection to her mother she had never experienced before.
“This is the best meal I’ve ever had, Mom,” Ariana said, smiling at Riele.
Riele’s eyes shone with joy. “I’m so glad you’re enjoying it, sweetie. I’m loving every moment of this time with you.”

“Can you call me mum” Riele blurted and Ariana stopped eating.

✨ SEOUL NATIONAL HOSPITAL~NEXT DAY ✨
Ariana fell asleep in Julian wards till the next day, she came back to hospital last night see him but fell asleep.
Julian woke up first and saw her sleep next to his bed, he pushed the strand of her hair to see her face properly and smiled.
Ariana woke up and felt someone gaze on her, she looked up to see julian still asleep, She kissed his forehead.. covered him well with the blanket and left for the bathroom.

She came back to see him seated up while smiling.

Ariana looked shock but her expression turned back to normal as she reciprocated, she opened her mouth giving Julian access to her tongues as he savoured her strawberry taste like his life depends on it.
She broke it and he pecked her lips again “you are becoming naughty”.

“Just for you” he smiled.
Just then, Riele came in with a food flask.
“Hey babies, I brought a special delicacy” she winked and dropped it on the side table.
Ariana took it and opened it, “hummmm” she moaned at the sweet smell of the pasta.

“It isn’t yours, Juliet, I brought it for Julian” she collected it from him.
“Oh mum, I haven’t eaten this morning” she mumbled rubbing her stomach.
Riele turned to julian and smiled.
He might be her enemy’s child but she can’t hate him because of his mother. She caress his bandaged head smiling.

“How are you feeling” she asked.
“Why are you being this kind?…..” He asked.
“That my nature, you and Cecilia are different, I can’t hate you because of her” she mumbled.
She placed the meal on a tray wanting to feed him but he resisted. He took the fork from her and started eating while she watched..

Lyra had gone to Stanley’s mansion to catch up with their assignment. She was in his room as they read together.

Suddenly rain began to pour heavenly and her jaw dropped.

She folded her arms under her boobs while wondering “why does it have to rain today of all other days” she mumbled under her breath.
“Why don’t we watch a movie together” he suggested and she shrugged.
“Fine, I’ll just pass the night here but not in your room” she muttered.

“okay” he smiled as he switched to Netflix on the TV, he brought in a bowl of popcorn and gave it to her as they watched the movie together.
Lyra give spaces in between them but she didn’t know when he came closer. She was shaking Because of the cold and he used a blanket to cover her up.

“Thanks” she mouthed as they continued watching the movie.

Ariana covered herself with the blanket since the rain started, her door twitched slowly and Julian crept in slowly approaching her.
“What are you doing here sunshine” Ariana asked.

He hugged her to himself resting his head on her chest. “I’m feeling better now” he smiled.

The door twitched opened again and Ariana quickly covered Julian totally under the duvet, Riele came in and saw Ariana still up.

“You are not asleep yet” Riele muttered as she approached her.
“I just want to sleep now but I’m feeling cold” she lied.
“Oh my gosh, lemme check” Riele touch Ariana’s forehead and her neck to check her temperature.

“Just rest ok, don’t on the air conditioner, you’ll be fine” Riele hummed and Ariana nodded wishing She could just go already because Julian has been tickling her.
Riele turn to go out and Ariana signed, she turned back and Ariana groaned “what is it” Riele asked.
“Nothing, just…. gosh. nothing” she let out a smile.

“Ok, I just came to check on you, have you seen julian because I can’t find him in his room” Riele asked and Ariana chuckled because of the way Julian is tickling her.
“erm … No.. I haven’t seen him” she lied, chuckling admist words.
“What that” Riele pointed at the bed when he saw something bulging under the blanket.

Ariana gasped when her mum wanted to touch it. “No mom, don’t touch it, it a blanket that I’m using to cover myself, I’m cold” she waved her hands signifying No.
Riele retreated and stared at Ariana suspiciously while she let out a fake smile.
“Ok, I’ll go look for julian downstairs, sleep tight” she kissed her forehead and left the room. “Ok mum”.

Ariana signed in relief and hit Julian hard on his back.
“Arghhh” he groaned.
“Why are you tickling me, you almost made me get caught for the fact that I’m hiding you” she frowned.
“Love bug, you’ve got some strength already” he groaned.

“Go to your room, mum is looking for you” she said.
“No, I want to stay here, I’m still cold” he pretended to be shivering.
“If mum doesn’t find you, she’ll know you’re here” she urged him to go out.
“At least let me do this” he muttered and kissed her deeply savouring her taste, she responded to his pace as they kissed hotly. She fell on the bed while Julian was on top of her.
The door made a sound and they widened their eyes.

Chapter 23 : Ariana’s Unexpected Journey

The door creaks open and their eyes widened.
Julian’s eyes widened in alarm, and he quickly dove under the duvet, leaving Ariana eyes were fixed on the door “who’s there?” she said loudly but no response came.

Ariana got up to investigate, her heart beating playfully fast. She peeked outside, saw no one, and shrugged. “It’s just the breeze,” she said to herself, closing the door again.
But when she returned to the bed, Julian was still hiding under the duvet, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “Come out, come out!” she teased, trying to pull him out.

But Julian resisted, his hands grasping the duvet tightly. “No way!” he whispered.
Ariana laughed and tried to pull him out again, but Julian was too quick. He burst out from under the duvet, his lips locking onto her neck in a playful bite. Ariana squealed in surprise, feeling the warmth of his breath on her skin.

“Gotcha!” Julian whispered, his eyes sparkling with triumph.
And with that, he left the room silently, leaving Ariana with a bright red hickey on her neck and a heart full of laughter. She chased after him, playfully hitting him on the back. “You sneaky thing!” she teased, her voice echoing down the hallway.
They heard footsteps coming and they rushed away to their respective rooms.

NEXT MORNING
Ariana and Julian came down from breakfast and saw Gabriel and Riele waiting for them. Ariana was putting on the school cardigan to cover the hickey that julian gave her.
“Morning Dad, morning mum” they chorused taking their seat opposite each other.
“Morning beauties, how was your night baby” she asked Ariana and she smiled.
“Great”.

“What with the cardigan” Gabriel asked.
“erm I’m feeling a little cold… yes cold” Ariana lied.
“Ok let eat” Riele smiled as the maids served their breakfast.

As they sat down to eat, Julian couldn’t help but steal glances at Ariana, his eyes sparkling with adoration. Ariana, too, couldn’t resist sneaking peeks at Julian, her heart skipping a beat every time their eyes met.
Riele noticed the exchange and her eyes narrowed suspiciously. “Okay, what’s going on here? Are you two dating or something?”

Julian and Ariana quickly exchanged a nervous glance before simultaneously denying any romantic involvement.
Riele raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. “Don’t tell me you have feelings for each other, you both are cousins.”

Riele’s eyes turned to Gabriel, her expression accusatory. “Wait, what? Why didn’t you tell me that, Gabriel?”
Gabriel shrugged nonchalantly. “It wasn’t that important for you to know.”
Riele’s frown deepened. “Not important? You’re keeping secrets from me now?”

The room seemed to exhale a collective sigh of relief. Julian and Ariana exchanged a look, their faces relaxing.
“Oh, okay,” Julian said, his voice filled with relief. “So, we’re not actually cousins.”

Riele faced her meal back as they ate silently.

“How about we go out today kids, I have just few days left” Gabriel suggested and they agreed.

Stanley’s mother was setting the table when Lyra came down with her backpack.

Cecilia hasn’t harm or hurt him before, he was shocked to learn that Gabriel isn’t actually his father but his adopted uncle.
“You see, I really don’t care if she goes to jail because she left I and my dad when we needed her the most” Evander muttered and threw the cigarettes sticks away.

Lyra was with her friends teasing themselves.

Stanley is seen in the class waiting for Lyra, the door opened and his eyes twitched in excitement but on seeing Sloane his expression dropped
“What are you doing here” he asked
“Are you expecting someone” she asked moving closer to go him.
“How is that your business,.. don’t move closer” he warned, she has been crushing on him but he had been avoiding her.
“Stanley, can’t you see the love in my eyes” she said.

“No, I’m only seeing your eyeballs, if you know what good for you leave, she would be here soon” Stanley pointed at the door.

“Just go please” Stanley muttered but she took fast strides to him and kissed him unaware.
Before he could push her away, Lyra entered the classroom and saw the scene. Stanley quickly pushed Sloane away staring at Lyra pale face.

“What has she done to you… I thought you liked me before why are you dating her” she stood up.

“No I won’t” she shrugged moving closer to him. She almost kissed him when someone dragged her hair up.
“Arghhhhh” she yelped in pain as her scalp hurt her.

“Leave my hair alone” Genevieve muttered as some of her hair removed from her scalp.
“I won’t, I said what are you doing here?..” she asked again.
Julian just chuckled on seeing the crazy stunt Ariana is pulling.
“Bitch, he is not yours to begin with, why take everything I want away from me” Genevieve gritted.

“You are not fated to be with him slut” Ariana held her hair tighter before releasing it and she fell to the ground with a loud thud.
“Arghhhhhhhhhh” she groaned painfully as her back hit the ground.
Ariana walked to where Genevieve was laying and raised her chin up “The next time you see him, stay away you Gerrit” Ariana warned and Genevieve nodded like a kid.

“Good girl” Ariana smirked while Genevieve stood up painfully running out of the garden.
Ariana spun to walked away when someone called her.
“Love bug” Julian called and she stopped.
“What!!” She snapped anger in her voice.

“She is touching you and you couldn’t do anything” She added jealously.
“Ok I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have let her touch me” he approached her.
“I’m still angry at you” she muttered looking sideways.
“C’mon lovebug” he hugged her waist and Ariana felt a sensation when he did, it was as if he tamed her.

He turned her around while she folded her arms pretending to still be angry.
“Oh c’mon smile” he tickled her and she clamp her lips together trying hard not to laugh.
He tickled her harder and she bursted into laughter. “That the spirit” he chuckled and hugged her while she hugged him back.
“Why haven’t you removed the sweater, it sunny” He asked.

“Like you don’t know what you did” she rolled her eyes.
“What did I do…..” He pretended to be thinking and she hit his arm playfully.
“Oh my gawd” he exclaimed and swiftly turned around pinning her to the wall.
Her heartbeat rose as she gasped “what are you doing” she asked.

“Claiming you”.
“Anyone can come here” she stated while he blinked.
“No one will” he raised her chin and took her lips into his and she responded.
He traced his fingers from her face down to her waist, he wanted to continue moving when Ariana held his hands.

She broke the kiss and stared at his lovingly eyes. “Stop” she muttered and bit her lips.
Julian saw it and groaned “I will continue if you don’t stop doing that” he threatened playfully and she bit her lips again.
“Oh geez, you are testing me lovebug” he grinned and she chuckled.
“I love you love bug” he smiled.
“I love you too sunshine” she smiled back widely as they stared at each other’s eyes.

✨ AQUARIUM ✨
The sun beat down on the aquarium’s entrance, but the excitement of the Julian and Ariana overshadowed the warmth. They burst through the doors, eager to explore the underwater world within.

As they walked through the galleries, their eyes widened at the majestic sea creatures before them. Colorful fish darted through the tanks, their scales shimmering in the light. Sea turtles glided gracefully, their flippers propelling them through the water. And the sharks, Their sharp teeth and piercing gaze left the Julian and Ariana in awe.

Gabriel smiled, watching his Julian and Ariana faces light up with wonder.
As they turned a corner, a massive tank came into view. A whale shark swam lazily, its fins slicing through the water. They gasped, their eyes fixed on the gentle giant.
“Wow, sunshine, look!” Ariana exclaimed. “It’s so big!”

“And so beautiful,” Julian added, his eyes shining with excitement.
The father smiled, feeling grateful for this moment. “Yes, it is,” he said, putting an arm around each of them. “And I’m so glad we get to experience it together.”

Unknown to them, a figure on black totally could be seen in a tight corner, he brought out his phone and dialed a number.
“Spotted” he told the caller.
“Good, don’t loose them from your sight okay, watch them” a voice came from the other end.
“Okay boss” the stranger muttered and hung up.

By the time Gabriel, Julian and Ariana were done exploring the aquarium, they walked out of the aquarium.
As they walked back to the car, Ariana couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. She glanced around, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Julian and Gabriel were chatting ahead of her, oblivious to her concerns.

As soon as they left the aquarium, the car halted taking them aback.
Suddenly, a black van swerved onto the curb, blocking their path. Ariana’s heart skipped a beat as the side door slid open, revealing a group of masked men.
They shot the driver and Ariana screamed on seeing the blood oozing from the driver’s head.

“Out” one pointed a pistol at them as they came out fearfully.
‘Get in,’ one of them growled, gesturing to the van.
Julian’s eyes darted to Ariana and Gabriel, who were frozen in shock. He knew they had to act fast.
‘Dad, run!’ He screamed, grabbing Ariana’s arm and pulling him towards the nearby alley.

But it was too late. The men were too quick, and they soon found themselves surrounded. Ariana’s heart raced as the men closed in, their faces hidden behind masks.
‘Please,’ Gabriel begged, ‘don’t hurt them. Take me instead.’

Ariana’s eyes filled with tears as she watched her father being dragged away. Julian’s hand found hers, and they clung to each other in terror.
The men pushed them into the van, which sped away before they could even process what was happening.
Julian held Ariana close as she sobbed silently.

✨ NORMAN’S VILLA ✨
Riele has been trying to call Gabriel number but it not connecting, she tried Ariana and Julian own but it still the same, she sat down on the couch worriedly and checked the time.
“9:12pm and they are not back yet” she blurted and dialed Gabriel line again. It picked on the second ring and she signed in relief.
“Hello” she muttered hastily.

“Helloooo” a hoarse voice replied and she squeezed her face.
“Who are you, what are you doing with my husband’s phone” she asked.
“Don’t you know me” the stranger said and that when it dawned on her, they have been kidnapped.
“Landon”.

“Yeah, you wanna talk to your precious family” he smirked.
“Landon stop whatever you are doing, release them all” She ordered.
“and who are you to tell me that”.
“What do you actually want, Landon” she said, pissed.

“I want all the documents to all your properties to me signed” he spat.
“Why are you doing this” she breaks down in tears.
“If you just want to be emotional, then fvck off” he yelled and hung up.
Riele fell on her knees in tears, she had just brought her family together but someone want to tear them apart again.
“No….no…. It shouldn’t happen”.

Chapter 24 (SEMI FINAL) : Sebastian’s Last Hope

✨UNKNOWN LOCATION✨
The room was dimly lighted as Gabriel, Julian and Ariana were tied on a chair.
Landon sneered as he gazed at his captives, bound and helpless in the room. “You fools,” he taunted, his voice dripping with malice. “You thought you could defeat me? I am the one who holds the power now.”

Gabriel, his eyes sunken and his face pale, coughed weakly, his body shaking with the effort. Ariana and Julian exchanged worried glances, their faces etched with concern.
“oh my dear brother is dying soon” he mocked as he raised Gabriel’s chin up as he coughed out blood again.
“What do you want from us” Julian shook his body struggling to break free.

Landon laughed, the sound echoing off the cold stone walls. “Oh, I’m just getting started,” he sneered. “You see, your father needs to sign a document which your mother has to bring. One that I intend to exploit for my own gain.”
“Why are you doing this, why do you hate me?…. aren’t we close before” Gabriel asked, his face pale.

“Tight you mean” Landon laughed dangerously and continued. “We are not friends not even brothers from the start, I had a mission to accomplish which to gain wealth and fame, that why I pretended to lost my parents, so I’ll get into the Norman’s family but things didn’t go as planned”.
“What!!!!!!!… you had a mission” Gabriel snapped and Landon smirked.

He turned back and continued “I’ve hated you ever since all of dad’s properties were willed to you Gabriel, not even a pin for me, isn’t that selfish” Landon spat.
“I had to come up with an intensifying plan to take away everything from you but luck wasn’t on my side” he snorted playing with the knife in his hands.
“You motherfucker” Gabriel spat.

“Shut up” Landon slapped Gabriel hard which made him vomit blood continuously while coughing.
“Once again, you stole Riele away from me, I saw her first but you went behind my back to date her after I had told you that I love her……” He muttered his voice above whispers.

“But you went behind my back to date and even married her” his voice rose dangerously.
“I thought you said you’re okay with it?” Gabriel asked.
“You thought I was satisfied, No Gabriel No……., After I get the documents, I will wipe you all off and take my precious Riele with me” he fantasized.

Gabriel’s coughing fit intensified, his body wracked with pain. Julian’s eyes blazed with anger, his face set in a determined expression. “Stop whatever you’re doing, you are hurting him,” he growled.
Landon chuckled, his eyes gleaming with sadistic pleasure. “You’re in no position to tell me what to do, Julian. You and her nothing but pawns in my game” he laughed scaringly.

Ariana’s eyes filled with tears as she gazed at Gabriel, her heart aching with fear and worry. “Please, sir, have mercy,” she whispered.

Julian and Ariana friends were there consoling her while putting on a sad face.

“He asked you to bring the documents to him right” he said and she nodded.

“What are you saying, it is dangerous for her to go alone” Lucas snapped.
“I’ll go, I’ll leave everything for him”.
“You won’t go alone, Ms… the cops will tag along” Lyra said.
“I can’t, he clearly warned me not to involve the police… I don’t want to loose Juliet… I really don’t” she broke down in more tears.
“This is really complicated” Caleb added.

The trio’s fell unconscious in the dark room after being mistreated badly, two figures came in and someone brighten the room dimly.
“Get some water now” Cecilia flared up as someone came in with a bucket of water emptying it on the trio’s.
They woke up from their unconscious state as they stared at Cecilia and Stephanie shockingly.
“Ce…ci…Lia” Gabriel stuttered.

She chewed on her gum funningly and smirked. “are you still surprised to see me here, huh” she growled.
Stephanie approached Ariana and raised up her chin.

She fumed in anger and pushed Stephanie away with her legs.

Stephanie threw a sharp slap on her face harshly “How dare you”.
“Stephanie, control your anger” Cecilia barked.
“She triggered it” she defended.
“Mom, why are you doing this” Julian asked.

“Sorry son, I’m doing this for our benefits…….., I know you wouldn’t support me……. So bear it” she told him in a sweet voice.

“Don’t say that Julian, I’m doing this for your sake so stop grunting” she yelled and Landon came in.

“Hope she won’t involve the police” Stephanie asked.

“Well just have to wait for their dear mother, after we’ll wipe off everyone from the Norman’s family” Landon walked around them.

Landon sat on a recommend chair as he stared at the trio. Soon the door opened and someone pushed Riele inside and she groaned as she fell on the ground.

Riele stared at them with burning gaze until her eyes landed on Stephanie.
“Stephanie you too” she mumbled.

“Yes, is there anyone else here” she looked sideways.
“How could you do this just because of greed”.
“It not greed bitch, it entitlement, we are entitled to all the properties you have” Cecilia smirked while Riele gritted her teeth.
“You think you couldn’t defeat me… Do you” she added.

“Hell no….., I don’t go down without a fight” she smirks.
“I swear… You’ll regret this Cecilia”.
“You were killed once but you survive, this time around, I’ll do it myself and make sure you are gone forever” Cecilia grunted angrily.

Landon brought out the documents and stretched it towards Gabriel, the documents to all his properties are there.
“Now sign each and every documents” he gave him a pen.
Gabriel hesitated as he held the pen shaking, closing his eyes tightly. while Cecilia smirked that what she wants will be achieved soon.
“Dad don’t sign it, you are the owner” Ariana interrupted.
“Shut up” Landon growled.

“Noooooo” Riele screamed as Gabriel was about signing. The pen fell from him and he breath heavenly.
“How clumsy, get done with this thing already” Stephanie yelled impatiently.
A guy picked the pen and gave it back to him. He shook as he took the pen shakingly, just as he was about to sign it.
A gunshots sounded and they all faced the door.

“What that” Cecilia asked fearfully.
Someone bursted in breathing heavily “boss, the cops are here” he said and Landon faced Riele.
“I thought I told you not to involve the cops” he pointed a pistol on her head.
“I didn’t…… I didn’t call the cops” she shook her head.

“Then what are they doing there” he barked.
“Landon what are we going to do” Cecilia asked.
Landon’s eyes blazed with fury as he yelled at Gabriel, “Sign the documents! Now!” Gabriel’s hands trembled as he held the pen, his eyes darting to Ariana and Julian, who were bound and gagged.

Suddenly, the door burst open and Evander rushed in, followed by the police. “Drop your weapons!” an officer shouted.
Cecilia dropped the one in her hands down as she sweating greatly, Landon didn’t drop the gun in his hands. A police man wants to move closer to him but he swiftly grabbed Riele pointing a gun on her head while holding her neck tightly.

“Don’t move” he warned and the policeman stopped.
“Let her go” Ariana voice came.
Landon sneered, refusing to release his grip on Riele, who was trembling in his grasp. “I’ll never let her go!” he snarled, his pistol pressed to her head.

Evander stepped forward, his eyes locked on Landon. “Let her go. It’s over.”
Landon’s eyes flashed with defiance, but Evander’s calm demeanor didn’t waver. “I’m warning you, again. Drop your weapon.”
In a swift motion, Evander shot Landon’s arm, and he yelped in pain, releasing Riele. He groaned in hellish pain as blood poured out from his arm.
“shitty”.

He gritted his teeth angrily and fell down, he pretended to groan in agony taking a pistol without notice, his eyes fixed on one person, Ariana.
Gabriel’s instincts kicked in, and he lunged forward, pushing Ariana out of the way just as Landon fired the pistol. The bullet hit Gabriel with a sickening thud, and he collapsed to the ground, his eyes wide with shock.
“Dad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

✨ SEOUL NATIONAL HOSPITAL ✨
Ariana and Riele clung to the gurney, their eyes fixed on Gabriel’s lifeless body as he was wheeled into the operating theater. Riele tried to follow, but a nurse gently restrained her. “I’m sorry, you have to stay here.” The nurse’s words were firm but kind, but Riele was having none of it. She struggled to break free, her eyes wild with panic.

Ariana wrapped her arms around Riele, holding her close as they both collapsed into tears. Julian and Evander rushed to their sides, holding them tight as they waited for what felt like an eternity. Finally, the doctor emerged, his face grim and his scrubs were stained with sweat. “He’s in a very terrible condition,” he said, his voice low and grave. “The bullet almost pierced his heart. We did everything we could, but… ” They cut him by rushing into the theatre
They all rushed in, desperate to see Gabriel. They found him weak and pale, his eyes sunken. His chest was wrapped in bandages, and a tangled web of wires and tubes surrounded him. But as they gathered around him, he opened his eyes, his gaze faint.

“Take care of yourselves,” he whispered, his voice barely audible. “Julian, take care daughter, juliet.”
“What are you saying dad, you said you are not going anywhere” Ariana shook her head trying not to misjudge it.
Her face was contorted in anguish, her body shaking with sobs. Riele’s eyes were vacant, her face pale and drained of color. Julian’s face was set in a grim mask, his eyes red-rimmed with tears. Evander’s face was twisted in pain, his eyes fixed on Gabriel’s frail form.

“Riele….. Juliet……” He couldn’t complete it as mumbled faintly, closing his eyes slowly.
But it was too late. Gabriel’s eyes closed, and his body went limp. The machines surrounding him flatlined, their steady beeps giving way to a deafening silence.

“Dad! No! No!” Ariana screamed, her voice piercing the air. She collapsed onto his chest, her body wracked with sobs.
The doctor rushed back in, checking Gabriel’s pulse. His face fell, and he shook his head. “I’m so sorry. He’s gone.”
“Noooo, don’t tell me that doctor… bring him back” Riele barked at the doctor holding his coat firmly.

“Sorry ma’am, he’s gone and there’s nothing to do about it” he muttered and Riele loose his grip on him slowly as her heartbeat rose.
She fell slowly on the floor breathing heavily.
“Arghhhhhhhhhhhh” she screamed.

Stanley bounced up and down. “Can we watch movies, play games, and eat lots of junk food? I want to indulge in everything I’ve been missing during exam season.”

Ariana laughed. “Of course, stan! My house is your playground tonight. We’ll have a movie marathon, play video games, and devour all the pizza and ice cream we can handle.”

she opened her mouth and Julian stuffed many popcorn in her mouth.

“jeez” he muttered and she bit her lips.

“Stop doing that or I’ll do something crazy here” he warned and they all turned to the couples.
“What if I” she said after chewing the popcorns then bit her lips again.
Julian waste no time in crashing his lips on hers and she responded to his pace.

“You can go into your rooms, stop oppressing the singles” Caleb rolled his eyes but they didn’t stop.
“Should we do that too” Stanley asked Lyra and she nodded shyly. He raised her chin up and kissed her in front of others.
“Not you too” Kingsley groaned.
“Then quit being a playboy” Evelyn wiggled her brows.

“Who’s gonna rock prom night next week” Lyra exclaimed doing a high five with Ariana and Helena.

Evander chuckled. “Well, wherever we go, we’ll make sure to stay in touch and have each other’s backs.”
“Well I’ll be going where my lovebug is going too” Julian smiled she blushed.

“I’ll be following my baby” Stanley winked at Lyra.
“I’m going to Valley View university too”

“Me three” Caleb said and they all chuckled loudly, forgetting their worries.

Chapter 25 (Finale) : Aurora’s Final Goodbye

✨ SEOUL PRISON ✨
The air was thick with tension, heavy with the despair of those who had lost their freedom.
The fluorescent lights overhead cast a dim, unforgiving glow, illuminating the worn and stained concrete walls. The smell of disinfectant hung in the air, a futile attempt to mask the stench of hopelessness.

Cecilia sat across from us, her once-beautiful face now gaunt and ravaged. Her eyes, once bright and cruel, now pleaded for mercy.
Her and Landon had been given life imprisonment But Stephanie was just given 30 years because she just joined them recently and that she once tried to sell Ariana. Stephen was not left out as he was also imprisoned for being an accomplice.

Cecilia sad at the edge of the prison yard seperating herself from others, her body were full of rashes as her prison mate bullied her.
“Hey you, come here” one of her mate growled.
“Cecilia shrugged,she doesn’t want to talk to them.

“Are you now disrespecting me” the one to be the leader grinned and others smirked.
Cecilia’s eyes darted around the prison yard, her heart racing with fear. She had offended the leader of the prison gang, a ruthless and cunning woman named Maria. Now, Cecilia was about to pay the price.

Maria’s eyes narrowed, her voice low and menacing. “You think you can disrespect me, woman? You think you can cross me and get away with it?”
Cecilia shook her head, her voice trembling. “No, please… I didn’t mean to ignore…….”
Maria’s laughter was cold and heartless. “You didn’t mean to? You didn’t mean to? You’re going to regret those words.”

With a nod, Maria’s gang members moved in, their faces hardened and cruel. They dragged Cecilia to the ground, their blows raining down on her like a storm.
Cecilia screamed, her body writhing in agony. But her cries were drowned out by the jeers and laughter of the gang members, their faces twisted with sadistic pleasure.

When they finally left her alone, Cecilia lay on the ground, her body broken and battered. She knew that she had to find a way to escape, to get out of this place before Maria and her gang finished her off for good.
But for now, she was at their mercy, a mercy that seemed to be in short supply.

Soon a warder came to the yard “hey, you have a visitor” he gestured at Cecilia, she doesn’t want to see anyone because she knew they’ll mock her.
“The old hag has a visitor, won’t you go” one of them yelled and she stood up hastily as the warder opened the gate.
She was led to the visitors room.

The warder came to Landon yard to tell him that he has a visitor but he shrugged frustratingly.
“I’m not meeting anyone, tell them to leave” he growled and the warder left.
Landon gritted his teeth, all he had been planning for years just went down the drain and now he is stuck here forever, he hit the wall of the yard angrily.

Julian and Ariana were seen seated waiting for Cecilia to come to them, Cecilia was brought in a worn orange jumpsuit, her once-beautiful face now gaunt and ravaged. Her hair was matted and tangled, her skin covered in rashes. She looked up at them with pleading eyes.
“The other one refused to see you” the warder mumbled and left.
The warder dragged her to a seat and she rubbed her hands together.

Ariana’s eyes widened in shock at Cecilia’s transformation. “What happened to you?” she asked.
“Son, I know I’ve offended you, please forgive me” she apologized while Ariana stared at her unkept body irritatingly.
“and why should I”.

She held Julian hands but he yanked it away “Son, please… you have to get me out of here,” she begged, her voice cracking. “I can’t take it anymore. The other inmates… they’re cruel. They mock me, they hit me… I’m so scared.”
Cecilia’s eyes welled up with tears. “I was so mean to you both… I was so blind. But now… now I’m paying the price. Please, Julian…….. get me released. I promise to change, to be a better person.”

Julian’s expression was unreadable, his eyes narrowing as he ignored her plea. He snared “No, mom. You need to face the consequences of your actions. You made our lives hell, and now it’s your turn to suffer.”
Ariana’s eyes flashed with anger. “You should have thought of that before you did that to us. You made us suffer, and now it’s your turn.”
But Julian’s expression remained unyielding, his eyes cold and unforgiving.

“You made our lives hell, mom,” he said, his voice firm. “You hurt us, tormented us. You showed us no mercy. Why should we show you any now?”
Cecilia’s eyes welled up with tears, but Julian’s gaze didn’t waver. “You need to face the consequences of your actions,” he said. “You need to understand the harm you caused.”

“Julian, I’m your mother”
“I do not consider you as my mom” he stood up, looking away.
“Please don’t go yet, Juliet please I need to get out of here…. Please… I promise to change” she pleaded.

Julian eyes pricked with tears, he walked out of the visiting room without turning back, Ariana followed.
As they left, Cecilia’s cries echoed through the visitation room, as she regret everything she did. She let her quest for wealth, fame and power destroy her and now she’ll face the consequences.

✨ VVRHS ~ PROM NIGHT ✨
The prom party was in full swing, with the DJ spinning the latest hits and the dance floor packed with students showing off their best moves. The venue was decorated with balloons and streamers, and a photo booth was set up in the corner, where students could take silly photos with their friends.

Latest cars came in as students troop out in their beautiful dresses, Stanley and Lyra dropped from his car, he was claded in a white tuxedo which made him look hot and Lyra was putting on a red backless designer gown with shiny diamond on every part of the fitted gown she wore.

Lucas and Helena came next as others showed up also. Ariana glare made them stop, she is claded on a sleek designed red gown with a slit from the middle of her thigh down to her legs.
She let out a frowned shortly at Julian “why must you look this hot” she asked, folding her arms.
” You finally admitted that I’m hot” he chuckled and she rolled her eyes.
