Episode 6 : The Kidnapping
Deviana woke up in a cave, her legs and hands were tied together. She couldn’t move. She close her eyes again very worried. She prayed the big heft men won’t hurt her.
“ Nene you. You think that girl will fetch us enough gold?” one big dark man said to the other one who isn’t concentrating on anything he is fast asleep but he jerked when his accomplice tap him.
“ of course if we get to sell her into one of the rich Lord’s manor then boom we are rich. With her beauty they will want her as a concubine haha ” Nene let out a selfish laugh.
“ they are just slave hunters but where am I? ” Deviana thought looking around but it doesn’t look as if they are still in her small village anymore. The prince must be looking for her now.
“ I don’t want to leave my prince alone ” she thought but there is no way she could move or run away.
“ well the kingdom is not that far let’s continue our journey” Teti tapped Nene who made to carry Deviana but she roll away which made him angry.
“ don’t touch me! ” she shouted.
“ there’s nothing you fan do little girl we going to sell you and get our money ” Teti said with a smirk.
“ leave me alone! Let go of me! I will tell my prince about this he will cut your head off! Let me go leave me alone! ” she shouted as Nene carried her to the boat. They tied her mouth with a thick cloth but she is grunting.
The next day…
The two hefty men with Deviana arrived at a very big gate after much walking. The land feels strange to Devi she didn’t know a big kingdom like this existed in her entire life.
“ my Teti carry her to the slave market I need to see jiu ” Nene said tossing Deviana like a piece of garbage to his friend who caught her.
“ oh no! They are going to sell me in an unknown land no ” Deviana thought struggling with the big man but a hard slap keep her calm. It burn her cheek leaving a mark there.
Finally they arrive at the slave market, to Deviana all the people look strange to her. They wore shining attire and the women adorn their hair with gold and some flowers.
Nene left her with a woman who untie her and bath her, she was given a gown dyed with indigo but her seashells are still behind her ears.
She watch as they auction other miserable humans like her pitifully but what’s going to be her own fate afterwards? Will she see her prince again.
Then her turn, she watch as people fought to buy her raising the price every time it is starting to bore her when a rich lord show up with the highest amount.
“ Thirty in gold ” he said and all eyes fell on him. He must be a powerful rich man to buy in gold.
“ lord Silas you can have her ”.
She was taken to a big manor in the capital, the house of the rich lord that bought her. She look around she knew no one around her she felt so lonely that a tear escape from her eyes.
Episode 7 : Life as a Slave
“ Search every hut in this village ” Jodi command his soldiers who went into action immediately. He is being going crazy every since Deviana went missing he couldn’t concentrate on anything just looking for her everywhere.
The king and the queens were worried about his behavior overnight. They’ve hearing things a beautiful maiden in the village that the Prince is following around lately but how can she disappear like that overnight or she doesn’t like the prince? Who doesn’t like him.
“ Devi I’ll find you wherever you are ” Jodi thought as he search through the woods everywhere in the island but he couldn’t find her.
“ this is the head maid she will give you your uniform and take you around the manor so behave yourself you are a slave now ” lord Silas handyman said to Deviana as he hand her to the young dark skinned lady dressed in pretty taffeta gown.
“ so I’m a slave now? In an unknown place? When am I going to see him again? ” Devi thought with a shaken mind as she follow the lady around the manor.
“ The building look so big and I’ve never seen something like this. Is this what they call a house? Here? But I still prefer my small hut I don’t have to walk around like this everywhere I won’t have time to play ” she thought.
“ In this manor there’s only one young master with a younger sister the young lady of this house and over there is the big lady’s sister Azeri no matter what you can’t cross path with her. ” the head maid point to the woman standing far away from them.
“ Young master? What is that? And young lady? Are you not a young lady? ” for the first time Deviana speaks and the head maid just giggle. She knew Deviana must be too naive since she is not from the big kingdom.
“ The young master is the son of the owner of this manor, the person who bought you in the slave market is your owner, your master and that makes his son your owner too so he is your young master and the lady of this house runs the house. Me and you are just maids nothing more we don’t own our lives they own it unless they decide to free us” the head maid explain but Deviana can’t get it she just pretend to be getting rather.
“ And that lady? Why can’t I cross paths with her? Who is she? ” Deviana asked again as they get to the kitchen.
“ ah Azeri? She is the elder sister of the lady of this house and the younger sister to the queen. She is rumored to be very wicked and ruthless. I heard it in a rumour that she killed her husband’s mistress ” the head maid whispers into Deviana ear who shivers in shock. How can someone be so wicked?
The head maid became so attached to Deviana within few minutes. Her complexion made her remember someone from the past although the look nothing alike.
Flashback…
“ the baby I gave birth to died I knew but you have to find the fake one I owe her a lot she made me forget the loss of my real baby if only her fate isn’t dangerous she would have grown up to be a great princess. ” sick mera said to her only friend.
“ what do you mean? ” Maya asked preparing her friend’s medicine.
“ my baby died immediately I brought her to this world but the head doctor didn’t tell me instead she put me to a deep sleep. Later she brought another baby who is bigger but look nothing like my baby which she switched immediately. Well I pretend not to know anything I develop a great bond with the new one. I couldn’t bear losing two babies the same day that’s why I lost my mind then ” mera continued with weak voice.
“ I know the second one isn’t dead. Her dead mother appear in my dream she is the one who return my mind. She told her daughter is doing great so you need to find her for me I have limited time to live ”.
“ Oh my Mera how can you keep something like this to yourself? I’m sorry but there’s nothing I can do I’m just a maid I can’t find your daughter for you but since her fate is to destroy this kingdom she will surely come back ” Maya said To be…
Meet new characters:
1) Nabu: the prince of the kingdom, (the one the first queen said she can’t bear to lose when mera lost her mind).
2) Mia: lord Silas’s daughter.
3) lord Silas: a rich powerful lord in the kingdom ( the finance minister).
4) Azeri; you already know her. The Queen’s wicked sister and a sister to lord Silas’s wife.
5) Azhao or Azo: Lord Silas’s wife, a mother to mia and Silah.
6) Maya; Mera’s best friend. Worst enemy to Azeri.
7) Zaibatsu and curly: Deviana’s best friend.
9) Loma: Nabu’s fiancee.
Well the village on the island is different from the kingdom. Both have their rulers.
Jodi is the prince of the village while Nabu is the prince of the large kingdom. Don’t confuse them.
Episode 8 : Deviana Meets Prince Jodi
“ Deviana meet curly, Terra, Loire, Zaibatsu or zai anyone you choose to call her and patty. From now on you are going to be working as a water maid your work is to fill every pot in this manor together understand? ” Maya said introducing the Deviana to her new environment.
“ water? I love water so are we going to the sea? ” Deviana but the other maids just stare at her like what is she saying?
“ Deviana there’s no sea around here. There’s only a river not far from the manor ” Maya told her. “ okay get to work” she ordered the maids except Deviana who still need to get her outfit.
She follow Maya to a large room located on the eastern side of the manor.
“ and don’t forget Devi you are not allowed to go to the western part of this place. That’s where the masters lives you are just a water maid I don’t know maybe if you got promotion to the kitchen or hand maid you maybe allowed we got ranks here understand? ” Maya said handling a plain taffeta gown to Deviana which will serve as her uniform.
“ I understand. you are so good to me I’m thankful ” deviana said as she stripped and change into her new cloths.
“ take this and rub it on your cheeks or else it will become a scar. You can have that potato I bet you haven’t eaten anything ” Maya gave her an ointment and a roasted potato, Deviana smiled but she is missing her grandma and the prince too.
By the time she is done with Maya the other water maids are back from the river so she just take her new pot and follow them for the next round.
“ Hi ” Zaibatsu said to Deviana who smiled and said Hi in return.
“ you must be from the island ” Zai said finally placing herself beside Deviana.
“ yes how did you know? ” Deviana obviously excited asked.
“ my mom use to be live in the village so she told me news about the magnificent blue sea when you mention the sea I knew you were from the sea ” Zaibatsu said with her tiny voice getting attached to Deviana.
“ oh I see. I thought no one will talk to me here ” she said pointing to the other maids walking ahead and ignoring them.
“ oh they will at night they don’t speak to each other while working don’t worry about them ” Zai explained and they continue walking to the river.
Later at night
“ so your name is Deviana? ” Terra asked and Deviana nod her head positively.
“ you don’t answer me with head say it with your mouth ” Terra said. She hates people that her too quiet or answer people with their body.
“ yes but you can call me Devi ” Deviana said not minding Terra’s behavior.
“ I’m Terra. She is Loire. She doesn’t have a name so she is called curly ” Terra said pointing at each of them.
“ but that’s a name already ” Deviana thought.
“ why does your name sound like something bad in our language? Devi? Deva? Oh no curse ” Loire said covering her mouth to prevent her from screaming.
“ her name doesn’t mean a curse in my mother’s village where she came from Deviana means gift of the sea that vi means sea ” Zaibatsu said defending Deviana.
“ and Zai your name means deep tressure ” Deviana said and Zai just blushes. Finally someone from her motherland is here. Curly is from the desert while Loire and Terra are from the kingdom. They were young ladies of a small house but their families went bankrupt so they had to work as a water maid to survive.
“ I thought we will be working day and night ” Deviana said while others laugh.
“ we are water maids our job is to fill every pot in this manor so far we are done then there’s no need to continue working ” Loire said proudly
“ figures that’s why we earn less ” curly said with a sigh.
Episode 9 : The Festival
Its being a month now Deviana is nowhere to be found on the island. Her grandma is sick from crying every night and day.
Jodi refuse to eat for days even the village feel the absence of Deviana. No more Granny’s shout of Devi!! Everywhere.
No more have you seen my Devi today?
No more babysitter for young mothers they are on their own now.
“ do you love her that much? ” the queen asked Jodi on a hot afternoon when he refused to leave his hut.
“ I don’t love her ” he said with a sorrowful tone.
“ but you miss her and you are going crazy because of her” the queen said.
“ that’s because she is my friend I feel so alone ” he said still denying what he is feeling for the lost girl.
“ but you have to be strong for her. She won’t he happy to see you in this state if she finally come back ” the Queen said before leaving his hut to attend to her own business.
He sit up slowly eating his meal and missing Deviana slowly. Could it be She drown? Because she almost jump into the sea when he found her the other day.
No that’s crazy they deviana would have found her body now.
“ Devi! ” Maya called the homesick girl trying to do her job.
“ yes ma’am? ” she answered with a strange low voice.
“ what’s wrong with you? Are you sick? Is the job too much For you? Goodness God you are burning up ” Maya collect the pot from her preventing her from going back go the river.
“ Deviana what’s wrong with you? God you are so pale ” curly freak out the moment she saw Deviana with the head maid.
“ she’s being like that for a week now told me not to tell anyone I think she’s homesick ” Zaibatsu told the head maid.
“ I’m okay ” Deviana said with a faint voice.
“ no you are not you need to rest ” the trio said together.
“ but there’s so much work for me to do ” she said weakly.
“ don’t worry I’ll do it ” zaibatsu volunteered.
“ me too ” curly added.
‘ can you see? You have nothing to worry about ’ Maya said handling the pot to her friends who collect it Immediately.
“ take this it will help you sleep better ” Maya gave her a bowl of brewed medicine the moment they get to Maya’s personal room.
“ what is this? ” Deviana asked after taking the bitter drink. “ medicine for fever ” Maya replied.
“ ah I see. But I’m good okay I just want to go back to my village ” devices open up with tears.
“ I understand but you are not allowed to do that here you can only be here till you die or you gain the master’s favor and become a consort ” .Maya said breaking Devi’s heart more.
“ you miss someone right? ”.
“ yes my grandma and his highness too ”.
Episode 10 : The Escape
“ his highness? Who is that? ” Maya asked curiously.
“ he is my friend ” Deviana replied.
“ well if you get the chance you might get out of here one day but I doubt you’ll have the chance to do so ” Maya told her the burning truth which make her heart sink she just nod her head trying not to cry.
“ now that you are free today I need to take you somewhere ” Maya said and Deviana look at her directly.
“ where if I may ask? ”
“ to someone I love most ” .
“ your husband? ” Deviana asked.
“ such a dumb girl I’m not married just someone I really like a lot ” Maya hissed taking Deviana’s hand. She gave her another cloth because she can’t wear her uniform out of the manor.
Immediately the got out of the maid’s pavilion Maya’s expression changed when she saw someone familiar.
“ wait here I’m coming ”.
“ Amaya you are getting quieter this days I wonder what’s keeping you so low. ” Azeri said with her calm evil filled voice.
“ Oh and I wonder what the wife of the prime minister is doing in maids pavilion. Curious about how I’ve been living? I may not have power but I’m not living in hell ” Maya said with the same calm tone Azeri used earlier.
“ really? You really changed a lot I wonder what lord Silas was thinking when he gave you this position. A whole household my sister should be running ” getting tensed now but Maya just laugh.
“ what do you think? I gave him ultimate pleasure that he forgot his wife for a month and gave me the seal to the entire household don’t worry I won’t have a child for him ”.
“ you whore! I promise you I will make you end like your friend ” Azeri threatened.
“ oh I’m so scared. That’s scary coming from a toothless tiger who doesn’t have a child for her husband just poking her nose inside her sisters’ homes Azeri find a way to pregnant and I’ll step down from my position ”
“ you don’t have a child either ” now very hurt by Maya’s words her eyes is red from anger.
“ because I choose not to. And beside I don’t need it I’m just telling you to find a way to conceive or else what’s the name of your husband’s consort again?” Maya thinks for a while before she continues.
“The one who bears four children for the minister will soon sweep you away I heard she is gaining more and more power within a twinkle of an eye you’ll be tossed aside like a rag that you are ”.
“ keep that that dirty mouth of yours shut! I’m going to kill you!! You whore!! ” Azeri said removing a a small knife from her cloak.
“ do you want to kill me? Just exactly the way you killed sisi? Oh no I’m not your husband’s mistress and I’m not the cause of your problems! Maybe the child you killed is really haunting you who knows ” her last statement threw Azeri aside while Maya walk away leaving Azeri to herself.

While Maya and Azeri were exchanging words Deviana leave them alone to wander around the manor. She stop at a grain field which amazes her but unknown to her two figures were watching her.
“ I think she is a maid in this manor ”.
“ I’ve never seen her but she is so beautiful ”.
