Episode 16 : The Vow
“ But it seems Lord Silas bought her for Silah won’t it hurt him to lose so much gold? ” Loma asked thinking about Silah’s love for Deviana.
“ that doesn’t matter my brother in law is rich he won’t worry but we have to get rid of the trouble maker or the cousins will kill each other because of her ” Azeri replied convincing Loma more and loma eventually agreed to it.
To get rid of Deviana means finally breathing in fresh air for once since months. Even with Silah making Deviana his maid Loma is still not satisfied. She knew Nabu can use his royal whim to take Deviana away from Silah and she (Loma) may end up going back to her father’s house or being betrothed to Silah.
“ get back to your village? ” Nabu asked with a laugh because he knew letting her go back to her village means he won’t see her forever.
“ I’ve pass my boundaries pardon me but I have to go now My master may need my service ” Deviana said in a polite manner taking a step away but Nabu grab her right hand. Silah manage to see them but he got the wrong idea.
“ but Deviana why won’t you look at me for once?” Nabu asked with a painful tone.
“ look at you how? You are in front if me ” She said trying hard to suppress her laughter.
“ I mean why can’t you consider me as a lover? A man you want to spend your entire life with ”.
“ on the contrary I need you to disappear from my life ” Deviana said with her mind.
“ excuse me I need to go ”.
“ OK but think about my feelings for you ” Nabu said letting go of her hand. He sigh as he watch her walk faster.
Deviana got to Silah’s bedroom to change his Chamber pot and make sure everything is in order when she saw Jodi in front of her smiling.
“ my prince is that you? ” she said moving closer but of course its not Jodi but Silah who look at her angrily.
“ so you’ve finally fall in love with my cousin? But why Devi? Is it because he is a prince? Why won’t you look at me? ” Silah’s loud voice snap her out of her imagination.
“ here we go again ” Deviana shook her head staring at her angry master.
“ its not what you are thinking ” Deviana said defending herself.
“ it is I saw you guys together do you think I’m blind?! Answer me Devi! ” Silah yelled more.
“ you know what Deviana? I’m going to make you mine whether you like it or not ” he said locking the huge door.
“ Are you drunk? ” Deviana doesn’t even know when that word flew out of her mind.
“ yes I am drunk and crazy because of you ” he grab her arm hard hurting her pushing her to his feather bed he started undressing himself Deviana jumped immediately but he caught her tearing her outer dress she kicked him hard on his knee. He grunt in pain now angry he drag her roughly back to the bed tearing her entire dress leaving her in only her under wears. Before she hit him with both feet.
She pushed him with inhumane strength taking her shredded cloth she open the door running out very fast leaving him there half naked. She swore to make him pay for this. Immediately she get to the maid’s pavilion a piece of cloth cover her mouth she kicked hard to get free but it is not even working. The huge taller man carry her to the storage room where two women are already waiting.
“ So she is the bitch causing trouble ” Azeri said looking at Deviana’s face with the candlelights.
“ we have to be quick someone must not see us ” Loma said but Deviana just grunt through the gag as they tied her hands and legs together putting her in a sack.
The huge man carried her to the edge of a cave he tied the sack throwing her into the mad river where her life started.
Episode 17 : The Homecoming
The man threw Deviana into the mad river under the cliff. The cold chilly water make Deviana cringe as she gasp for breath.
“ no I can’t bear losing my baby I’ll rather kill her myself ” Deviana heard Mera’s voice she open her mind to see a sad mother throwing her baby into the river.
“ help me ” She said with her mind as she sank deeper.
“ Breathe ” she heard a voice behind her but she couldn’t see because of the sack.she breathe out but was surprised when the water is not even affecting her well that problem is solved yes she can breathe now but she still can’t move.
She felt something shining on her neck as the necklace Lyle gave her became visible now shining brightly she felt the ropes tearing apart looking at her legs she saw a mermaid purple tail instead. Her hair is now curly and longer.
The mermaid who whispered earlier untie the sack freeing her. She is still confused somehow.
“ welcome princess Ana ” the mermaid with similar tail like Deviana said taking Deviana by her left hand.
“ wait who are you? Why did I suddenly turn to this? Am I a monster? ” Deviana asked stopping the mermaid.
“ this is what you are Ana ” Lyla said dragging her along anyway as they swam their to the castle Lyla told Deviana everything how she was born, how she end up in that big kingdom how she was thrown into that same river how her grandmother found her.
Deviana reacts angrily, although not showing it but secretly she is planning revenge.
When they got to the castle the Queen can clearly hear Deviana’s thought so she warned her not abhor any bad thought but the seer intervene.
She told the queen about Deviana’s fate, the queen pitied Deviana but she is angry that her granddaughter had to go through all that in the hands of lowly humans. They tried to kill her but they should have choose a more suitable manner but this is like sending her to her father’s house.
Deviana’s father quickly bond with his daughter he thought her many things like how to control her powers, how to use them and how to have fun with them within hours Deviana’s swimming speed is like flash.
Lord Silas’s manor
Maya woke up early, she felt the urge to see Deviana but she couldn’t find her. The kitchen maids doesn’t know where she is even the water maids she often hang out with. Maya is quite worried she asked Mera too but Mera hasn’t seen Deviana in days.
Silah woke up late and angry no Deviana to wake him up today. He thinks she is still angry about what he did last night but Devi isn’t someone to mess with her job so he became worried after some hours and no news of Deviana.
Someone found Deviana’s shredded clothes near the storage room even her earrings and the flowers she used to decorate her hair on Mia’s birthday. Everywhere became cold and dry without Deviana. Some said she commit suicide, some said she ran away while Silah blame himself for whatever that may have happened to her. Meanwhile the evil ladies drank to celebrate what they did.
Deviana look around as she finally found herself on her old island of course naked. She is so happy but she couldn’t walk properly.
She fell down after trying to take a step forward. She even checked to confirm if her tail really changed to legs but they really did.
“ Deviana? ” Jodi said behind her. He has been watching her every attempt to walk but he isn’t sure if she is the one.
“ my Prince ” Deviana said elatedly she try to run to his opened arms but she fell again but he helped her get up hugging her tightly but when they realize she is naked the situation turn awkward.
Episode 18 : The Confession
“ I heard Deviana is nowhere to be found ” Nabu said immediately he set his eyes on his rival or cousin. Instead of an answer Silah grab his collar tightly.
“ it is your fault! ” Silah growled sniffing life out of his cousin. Nabu manage to push him away gasping for breath.
“ how is it my fault?! ” Nabu yelled holding his neck.
“ I told you I love her and I want her but you still went behind my back and made her fall in love with you ”
“ fall in love with me? Oh God Silah you are joking. Deviana doesn’t even want me she hates seeing me around her I don’t know why I thought she is afraid of you ” .
“ you liar! ”
“ I’m not lying so where is she now? Or did you do something to her? Answer me! ” Its Nabu’s time to yell at his cousin now.
“ Just leave me alone you hetrayer ” Silah walk away from his cousin angrily.
“ Silah you don’t dare walk away from me I’m a prince! ”
Jodi sneak Deviana into his hut secretly but the situation is still awkward. He gave her some clothes and some food before asking her question.
“ Deviana don’t tell me you’ve been on the seashore this whole time while I’m going crazy looking for you? ” he said but Deviana just laugh.
“ well my Prince its a long story ”.
After eating Deviana narrate her ordeal, how she was kidnapped and sold as a slave to big kingdom, how she met Maya and her adopted mother. How she became the master’s favourite overnight and how she caught their Prince’s attention but his fiancée and his aunt tried to kill her by throwing her into a river.
“ they tried to kill you? ”
“ yes but they didn’t even know they just took me to my parent’s house ” she smiled as she remember her family in the sea.
“ your parent’s house? ”
“ Jodi if I tell you who I am will you still be my best friend? ” she asked calling him his name for the first time.
“ of course I’ll always be your friend no matter your identity ” he declared but Deviana is not comfortable though.
“ I’m a mermaid a water being ” she said but jodi just smile.
“ your grandmother told me ” he replied.
“ what?! ”
“ Deviana you see. I don’t care if you are a human being or a water being I will always love you no matter what you are ” the word love made Deviana’s heart flutter.
“ you love me? ” she said almost in a whisper.
“ yes I do. Do you?”
Maya wore her old cloth she is sad because of what happened to Deviana she knew Silah had something to do with it with the guilt look on his face. With the happy looks loma and Azeri are wearing and they suddenly becoming best of friends she knew something is wrong somewhere.
“ ma’am I want a word with you ” Curly said with a low guilty tone.
“ what is it dear? ” Maya asked.
“ its about Deviana I I manage to see her on Lady Mia’s birthday ” Curly sobs
‘“ u saw her? ”
“ yes with a strange man he carried her and she was struggling to break free but I couldn’t help her because of the people behind the incident ” Curly said suddenly vomiting blood.
“ Curly what’s wrong with you? Why are you like this? Talk to me ”.
“ I saw ….. something I …..I was not suppose to see…. so they made me like this ” Curly manage to say as she become weaker.
“ who?! Answer me! ” Maya screamed.
“ lo… ma ” Curly try to say before breathing her last.
“ Loma? ” Maya gasped but when she remember Deviana ‘s fate she laughed suddenly. Her laughter fade into a frightening scream when she notice curly is dead.
curly was buried immediately, maya refuse refuse to shed a tear for her knowing Deviana is coming back To avenge herself and her best friend.
Episode 19 : The Search
Sometimes love cannot be compared with anything in this world it will always remain the most beautiful thing on earth. Deviana and Jodi left his hut holding hands to greet her grandmother who is so happy to see her. Granny took her time to prepare Deviana’s favorite food and the young lady is moved to tears because she misses both the food and her grandmother.
“ my dear I missed you so much are you hurt? Where have you been? Why did you leave me alone? You knew I have no one but you. ” Grandma said with concern while Deviana just giggle. She knew her grandma will surely ask those question.
“ Grandma I missed you too every night I don’t sleep without thinking about you ” Deviana said with a smile hiding her pain she doesn’t want Granny to know what she passed through in that kingdom.
The spirit of vengeance inside her is getting stronger but no one knew about it.
The duo started preparing their wedding, Deviana is still living with her grandma but jodi make sure everybody in the Village know who exactly his fiancée is anyhow.
Mera visit the queen in the palace per the latter’s order. Maya feels terrible about Deviana but something keep telling her Deviana is still alive somewhere else.
Two beautiful maids open the door for Mera as she enter the familiar place she was brought in Nineteen years ago she look around as she notices the few changes and the new decoration in the Queen’s chamber.
“ Mera ” the Queen enter the room suddenly making Mera to shudder in shock.
“ I do not wish you bad Mera what happened in past wasn’t my fault my sister caused it she manipulate me. I regretted it then that’s why I’m trying to make it up for you now ” facing Mera and placing her two hands on her shoulder.
“ I hope you’ll forgive me and come back to the palace ” the Queen said but Mera moves slightly backward indicating she doesn’t want the Queen’s offer.
“ then what do you want? ” the Queen asked.
“ I want nothing but to return to my small village on the island so I can die peacefully ” Mera said calmly very careful not to look at the Queen’s eyeballs.
“ interesting ” the Queen said throwing a piece of fabric in the fire.
“ granted but there’s one thing I need from you. I heard you have a young friend who is as pretty as you ” turning back to Mera
“ my son wants her ”.
“ what will become of lady Loma? ” Mera asked but the Queen just arc her left eyebrow.
“ I’ll take care of her ” .
“ but my Queen you don’t need to take of the young lady because Deviana is nowhere to be found and I don’t know where she is Didn’t Prince Nabu tell you anything? ”.
“ he told me nothing okay I’ll arrange a boat to take you to your village if that is what you want you can leave tomorrow ”
“ thank you my Queen ”.
The next day Mera packed her little belongings sating Goodbye to Maya first before leaving the kingdom forever.
Two men follow her to ensure her safety and a maid from lord Silas’s manor to carry her belongings. She was treated like a proper royal concubine her dressings says so.
The spend two days on the water before finally getting to the island, the first person who notice her is none other than Deviana who went to the sea to fetch some salt and water.
Deviana moves closer to the boat and she was surprised to see Li Mia’s maid and Mera.
“ isn’t that Deviana? ” li thought.
Episode 20 : The Battle
Immediately Mera set foot on her homeland Deviana is the person she set her eyes on. She wonder what really went wrong and how Deviana find herself in her village in just few days.
She is overjoyed when the young lady took her to the royal palace to meet her sister Mena(Jodi’s sister) and her nephew, Jodi.
Li couldn’t hide the hatred she has for Deviana while she still couldn’t believe how Deviana got to the village if she is not a witch or something so at the middle of the night, li set on a journey back to the kingdom again.
She got there three days later with a boat , she went straight to Silah’s chamber who is busy drinking himself to stupor that’s how he’s been ever since the night Deviana left.
“ my lord I have some news about Deviana ” she said when the manservant doesn’t allow her to enter his bedroom. He sprang up at once his eyes clear from alcohol.
“ some news about Devi? ” he asked repeatedly as he open the dirt himself.
“ where is she? ” he asked again grabbing Li’s right arm.
“ she is in a far place right now and she is getting married soon ” she said with confidence. She doesn’t care whether Nabu and Silah fight or not all she want is Deviana’s tears.
She hate her so much with great passion just because Maya took great interest in her.
“ get married? To my cousin? ” Silah growled scaring li herself but she is still determined to get Deviana though.
“ no calm down lord. She is getting married to her childhood sweetheart from what I know they’ve been together even before she was taken to this kingdom as a slave… she.. ” she couldn’t complete it before Silah cut the word from her.
“ you talk too much lead the way ” he said getting impatient.
“ no no not today you have to be in your right state ”
“ so you mean I’m not in my right mind? ” he growled again like a wolf while li just shook in fear.
Deviana sat with Mera gossiping about the village maiden and how they couldn’t manage to seduce Jodi laughing every time.
“ well I think they are pretty ” Deviana said opposing Mera’s statement about the maidens being extremely ugly.
“ but they are not pretty like you. You’ve been through a lot let’s just forget about that horrible kingdom we’re back to our peaceful lives now ” Mera said placing her right hand on Devi’s shoulder.
“ I’m still going back to surprise them and take my own revenge ” Deviana thought inside.
Still engrossed in their they didn’t notice jodi who is is just waiting for them to finish whatever they are discussing so he can get to be with Deviana alone. But it seems they are not ending it soon so he just clear his throat attracting their attention.
“ go ” Mera whisper to Deviana who blushes involuntarily.
Together they walk to the woods in silence just looking at each other randomly and averting their gazes.
“ Deviana ”
“ yes? ”.
“ I want to ask you a question ”.
“ what is that? ”
“ why did you fall in love with me? ”
Deviana is already looking at him like what sort of question is that?
“ I I can’t explain ”.
“ I mean I’m not handsome, not romantic not better for you. My village is not that big and we don’t have much resources ”
“ just like the same way I’m carrying another man’s child ” .
“ what?! ” Jodi exclaimed.
“ I thought we are saying unreal things. We you need to see what your face looks like right now ” Deviana burst into a loud laughter mocking her lover who stare at blankly. She stand in front of him, her head is just about an inch from his.
‘“ you know what? I don’t care about riches or how small our village is besides there’s peace and you. That’s the only thing I care about ” she said standing on her toes to reach his height. He just lower his head to kiss her which she return with her hungry mouth.
