Episode 11 : Riven’s Dilemma
Ariana’s POV
Well its time to leave Oceania once and for all. I miss my daughter a lot and my family too, my husband died in a car accident just before I came to Oceania, he is the reason I left my daughter with my sister Daniella and I came to take refuge in Oceania and when Elka left Marielle with me I couldn’t object.
“ princess Ariana? ” queen Lucille called and I turn.
“ you’re leaving? ” she said.
“ yes your majesty ”.
“ apologize to Elka on my behalf she can roam in the water world if she like, I will need her because my brother manage to break the lock of the forbidden lake and he now has greater power I’ll need Marielle too” the queen said with a sorrowful voice.
‘ I understand your majesty but my sister won’t want her daughter to return to this place but if you need the help of my three sisters they will surely help you ’ I said with a smile.
“ oh thanks for all the times you spend with us and i will to apologize to Elle too you know the way the young mermaids treat her when she was here is bad of only she can forgive us ” she said with a remorse tone.
“ alright my Queen I’ll be leaving now ” I bowed before swimming away and I can see a tear drop from her eyes turning into a pearl almost immediately.
Elle’s POV
Riven said I look good hmm wait did I just smile? No there’s no way I’m in love with him never. “ Elle do you need anything? ” he said behind me all I did is nod and blush.
“ Elle you look prettier when you smile ” Riven said sitting beside me.
“ really? ”.
“ yeah you are just too pretty I mean your beauty is out of this world ” he smiled. Oh Riven I’m a mermaid you don’t expect me to be ugly.
“ and what happened to that arrogant childish Riven? You sound more matured these days ” I know I somehow got him but he smile again. “ and what happened to that cold Elle? You have changed you smile a lot and your pretty face makes oops forget it ” he sigh.
I stand up and I head to the class and he follow me immediately.
“ I want to ruin that face she’s only been in school for few weeks and all she do is snatch Riven away from me? Elle you are going to pay for this ” Elia said in a corner obviously watching the chemistry between them. The blonde girl may look dumb but she got one thing you won’t want to see and that is the evil side of her, she can kill to have what want and that is Riven.
Elle’s POV
“ hi ” I said to a girl sitting in the second row,she look surprised but when I sat down she quickly came to my seat.
“ hi I’m Olivia I didn’t expect you will say hi to me I like you since I set my eyes on you ” this Olivia girl must be a talkative well I’m one myself.
“ well I just think I need a friend other than Riven ” I roll my eyes and she laughed.
“ Riven is your friend? ” she asked.
“ no he is my slave we made a bet and I won so he is automatically my slave ” I said proudly.
“ what? Everyone think you are dating a slave? I don’t want to laugh so almighty Riven can be a slave? ” she laughed again.
“ hello class ” Morgan addressed as she enter the class, she shot me a death glare which I return immediately well Morgan the war have just begin.
“ next week we will be throwing a little party on a cruise ship you know the way we do it every year but this will be different instead of academically based you will allow to have fun and enjoy yourself ” Morgan announced and the whole class shout happily.
“ what’s the party all about? ” I asked Riven.
“ its not a party but they call it one all we do is studying and quiz competition its always boring but I think this year will be a little bit interesting ” he winked at me well it may be interesting because its near water oh I miss the underwater.
After school Riven and I studied together for two hours and he is really getting it, all he does every time is look at mame and say wow elle you are a genius and my blush also won’t obey me it darken every time he speaks.
“ is that your boyfriend? ” Aunt lyka asked immediately riven left.
“ no we are just classmate ” I said hiding my excitement in the best way I can.
“ hey girl don’t lie to me you and Eva are the same its so easy to know if you are in love even though you always deny it ” Aunt laughed oh I guess she can still read my emotions well I’m not in love.
“ and who is Eva? ” I asked and she chukled.
“ your cousin of course my daughter ” she chukled my aunt can be so funny.
“ falling in love is not scary you just have to accept it, no one will arrest you if you love him okay? ”
Episode 12 : The Mermaid’s Call
Riven’s POV
Well that was a nice day I can’t believe I spent so much time with Elle. I don’t want it to end.
“ what’s with that smile? ” my mom asked which caught me off guard.
“ nothing ” I smiled and she also laughed.
“ you are in love Riven I can see it in your eyes who is the lucky girl? ” oh no my mom love asking questions. “ I’m not in love mom I don’t have a girlfriend ” I said wearing a long face. “ Riven come on you don’t have to hide it from me I’m your mom remember? Or is it one sided? ”
“ mom I’m not in love no I’m not ” I quickly enter my room to avoid more questions. I’m looking forward to the cruise ship party not a party actually but they call it one. Having Marielle as my date won’t be a bad idea loving it.
The next day Elle and I hardly speak with each other although I try to bring up a conversation with her but she look worried as if something is bothering her.
Elle’s POV
My discussion with my aunt change my mood.

“ Marie you have to prepare yourself for prince Edward is coming for you he won’t rest until he have either you or your mother” aunt lyka said with a serious expression.
“ but aunt why? ”
“ if he gets you first he is going to use you to make Elka come to him and if he get Elka first you won’t have a choice but fight him to get your mother ” she snap her finger and I could make out when she meant. I’m so young to have such a great responsibility on my neck this is ohh crazy.

“ Elle! ” Olivia called and I my body shake in fear. “ what’s wrong babe? You look like you’ve just seen a ghost ” she said and I sigh deeply.
“ I got a lot on my mind today I’m sorry I need to be alone ” I said running my hand through my hairs.
“ oh take it easy ”.
“ Elle! ” Riven called from the other side.“ what is it this time? ” I scowled at him.
“ nothing you look like something is eating you up ” he stammered with the look on his face he is obviously scared of me.
“ I’m sorry I didn’t mean to yell ” I muttered and he look surprised.
Riven’s
I’m dreaming aren’t I ? The Elle I know will never apologize but she is different today.
Closing hour came so fast instead of letting me carry her bag she carry it herself and she walk to the car and I’m surprised to see her driver waiting. I have to go their house to study so I enter the to seat beside her.
“ Greeny I mean what should I do? ” she suddenly speak ignoring my presence.
“ Elle you have to calm yourself this isn’t a small thing you have to prepare yourself for it and stop whining around ” Greeny? Is that a name? The lady said with a serious voice and Elle calm down a little..“ Ven I don’t think k I can study today ” Marielle said raising her head I think she is crying did someone break her heart? Whoever did that I’m going to break their bones how dare a guy hurt my Elle?.
“ its not what you are thinking I don’t have a boyfriend so keep your silly thougts to yourself ” Marielle said with a smile, she is reading my mind? No this is not possible oh I can’t believe this.
Now today is the boring party oh well miss Morgan said we will enjoy the party let’s see what they have for us.
I got a new look for the guys to be jealous of a new haircut, designer suit and a handmade shoes from Italy.
Elle is a sight to behold, she wore a strapless yellow gown and a red heels with a small red purse her hair is rolled in a bun held with a shiny hairpin and the light makeup make her look like a goddess, I can see the girls turning their neck to see the beauty goddess, the guys left their mouth wide open with.
“ don’t tell me this is… ” John one of our classmate try to say and nodded “ Marielle ” I complete it for him.
“ Riven can you please just breakup with this girl I want to date her ” Timmy said and I laughed Marielle is for me and myself and I.
“ Riven please hold my hands the water is calling me ” Marielle said while we are in the ship.
“ what? Are you okay? ” I asked and I can see she is uncomfortable.
“ the water is calling me please hold me ” she whispered hugging me tight. Elia hissed and I can see the girls also staring at her with death glares.
“ get me a glass of water ” she whispered again
“ okay milady ”
Elle’s POV
I don’t know what’s wrong with me, the water is calling my name but anytime I go closer to Riven the voices always calm down.
While Riven went to get a glass of water I close my eyes and I cover my ears with my hands, I open my eyes to see someone standing in front of me.
“ I’m going to kill you today ” the blonde girl said while others were not watching.
The water is still calling me and I the girl is moving close to me while I move closer to the water. My shell started appearing and fading at the sane time I’m helpless and I can see Morgan staring at me with a wicked smile, she froze the time and the students didn’t notice something is going on the girl brought a knife pointing it at me but I quickly climb the railings jumping into the ocean because that’s the safest way.
Riven’s POV.
Did I just hear something fall inside the ocean? I search for Marielle with my eyes but I couldn’t find her no she didn’t fell did she?
I quickly jump into the ocean without thinking thank goodness we are not far from land but I can swim.
Episode 13 : The Confrontation
Elle’s POV
Immediately I jump into the ocean I quickly take out my shell and my tail appeared. I swam upwards but I saw another person struggling to swim Riven? This boy is just too dumb he can’t swim yet he want to save me? His stupidity is out of this world.
I quickly hide my shell and my tail turn to legs. He is about to drown when I caught him he is surprised but i manage to swim to the shore holding him. Immediately I drop him he started coughing.
“ your stupidity is out of here, you can swim yet you jump into the ocean to save someone who is a pro in swimming ” I hissed sitting down awe I’m tired the boy is too heavy.
“ you scared me you said water is calling you earlier then you jump into the ocean ” he said breathing hard.
“ you didn’t see Elia threatening me with a knife? ” I asked and he shook his head negatively.
“ although she is near the railing I saw her hiding something ” he said.
“ that’s it the knife ” I hit my fist on a rock and the rock shattered into pieces he look like he just seen a ghost.
“ wow I can do that ” he said trying to copy me, before I can stop him he hit his fist on another rock and he have a fracture straight away.
“ ahh!! ” he groan in pain his hand is even bleeding, what a mermaid can do without sweating humans can’t do it even if they are crying.
“ it hurts? ” I asked and he nodded.
“ I think it breaks my precious hand ” he cried.
“ precious hand? But you knew the hand is precious before hitting it on a rock ” I said and he groan in pain again he is bleeding seriously.
“ calm down let me get water for you ” I said laying him on a grass sheaf.
“ where will you get water? ” he asked obviously in pain.
“ in the ocean ”.
“ with what? ” he asked again.
“ can you just keep quiet and let me think!! ” I yell at him.
“ okay ” he muttered but when it seems he keep complaining I smack his nape and he lose consciousness immediately. I quickly get some water by making a bubble I wash his wound and I use my healing powers so the wounds won’t hurt him much then I tore part of my gown to bandage it.
While he is still unconscious I quickly strip myself and I jump into the ocean to see Ariana.
My shell appeared and I swam deep into the ocean I miss all my fish friends and swimming with my tail too. I swam to the castle and I could see the queen deep in thoughs.
“ my queen ” I called and I was surprised when she quickly give me a warm hug really is this queen Lucille? Queen Lucille will never have anything to do with me, whenever she is around me she always frown giving no room for a conversation I actually think she would lock me up but I got to ask about Ariana after all.
“ your grandaunt left she return to the lands of humans ” the Queen said breaking the awkward silence.
“ she is currently in maidri but may return to human world later so Elle all I want to ask for is your forgiveness I want you to forgive me ” the queen pleaded.
“ I don’t hold grudges but I’m sorry my Queen I have to go now before this idiot try something funny ” I said rushing to the shore and I heaved a sigh of relief he is still sleeping. I quickly step into my gown backing him but I was halfway when I hear him stir.
Riven’s POV
I woke up feeling nothing in my hand but vision is blurry I open my eyes to see Elle dressing up in front of me her gown is on her waist and her entire back is exposed how can a girl have a back so smooth wow I feel like kissing it Elle is just too beautiful. But why is she dressing up did she? Oh no she didn’t no she won’t she can’t.
“ keep your stupid thoughts away I didn’t do it I went for a swim ” she said without facing me but she is done dressing.
“ don’t eat me with your looks ” she suddenly turn and she is even more beautiful with wet hair.
“ is she a mermaid? ”
Episode 14 : Riven’s Apology
Elle’s POV
I know others are looking for us but before they can get to where we are it’ll be over an hour or two.
Riven has caught a cold and he is using his sneezing to snatch my little peace away from me I made a bon fire and he is surprised that even though my dress is thin I’m still not cold well I have divert his mind from thinking about my real self. I sneezed even though its fake.
“ did you just sneezed? ” he asked with a smile. “ yeas what does it sound like ” I said sneezing again.
“ but you were complaining there that I sneezed too much didn’t you? Now you have sneezed too how impudent! ” he spat and I raised an eyebrow.
“ you know you can get beaten for what you’ve just said ” I said with a thick voice and he quickly hold his lips with his right hand.
“ I’m kidding ” I laughed and he stare at me like I’m an actress in a drama series or something.
“ seriously what was that for? You scared the living daylight out of me! ” he exclaimed and I laughed more.
“ you are stupid catch me if you can ” I said running and he run after me, the white pigeons started flying what a beautiful sight but I’m still running enjoying myself for the first time in my life. My weak legs started telling me the different between a mermaid and human by hurting me so badly that I end up falling I’m tired and thirsty I need a water bubble.
“ Elle? are you okay?” Riven asked when I fell suddenly still determine to have more fun I stand up but I fell again.
“ gotcha ” Riven said catching me midway.
“ you won ” I gasp and he grinned wickedly.
“ your punishment is a kiss ” he said and I laughed not a chance, giving him a kiss I’m giving him a key to unlock my thoughts he will be hearing my thoughts from afar even before I say anything he will know my deep secret and I don’t want that..
“ not a chance ” i scoffed.
“ a peck Elle please I just need you to kiss me just once I’ll be the most happiest boy on earth right now ” he cried like a toddler.
“ a hug? I can’t offer you anything more than a hug ” I said and before I finished my statement he gave a hug and before I could protest he kissed me that’s feels good but I’m afraid my secrets.
“ did you hear anything? ” I said with my mind but no reaction I think the kiss spell only exist between merfolks.
“ tell me you don’t like that ” he said after breaking the kiss.
“ stupid boy ” I muttered and he smiled.
“ want another? ” he asked and I hit him “ immature jerk ” I muttered loud enough for him to hear
“ auhhh did you have lead as bones? How can your hands hurts so much ” Riven winced in pain like a baby.
“ that’s for kissing me without permission ” I shrug my shoulder.
“ its not as if you don’t like it you like it don’t you? You even kissed back what an achievement I kissed the beautiful Elle ” he shouted celebrating his stupidity before I sight the ship coming to our direction. We board the ship again but this time is not scary and I can see Elia making threats with her expression.
“ Elia you are fighting a lost battle you thinking I will die if you drown me? Come on I won’t die even if you drown me in the world’s largest and deepest ocean Pacific I’m not gonna die keep that in your mind ” I threatened her and I can see she is afraid but she cover it with silence.
We play many games and we even have a small party so much fun in the ship and the next we have quiz and spelling bee competition in the night we played truth and dare.
A week later
Today is my birthday la la la la but I’ve never celebrate it mom and aunt lyka are preparing something for me. The first person I saw is Riven I ran back to my room embarrassed, my hair Is a mess and there’s a drool on my face I look so horrible.
“ Elle? ” he open the door while I’m busy brushing my hair.
“ don’t look at me ” I said but he laughed.
“ you are always beautiful to me whether you’ve bath or not ”
Episode 15 : The Beach Trip
Elle’s POV
I keep brushing my hair without looking at him but he surprise me by giving me a back hug he kiss my neck and I felt goosebumps on my skin.
“ Elle you may think I only love you for your beauty but no I love you for who you are my girlfriend ” he whispers in my ears.
“ if I tell you what I am will you still love me? ” I asked and he answered by kissing my neck again.
I turn and I hug him properly feeling his warmth and I sniff his perfume and I think he is hiding something.
“ Riven what are you hiding? ” I asked and he smiled. “ before I show you you must kiss me first” he grin testing out my patience.
“ Ven stop I can’t kiss you my parents are at home ” I said but he let out a naughty smile.
“ its just a kiss don’t be such a little girl you are eighteen ” Riven raise his hands to explain his point.
“ no ” I protest.
“ yes ” he said.
“ you are too childish ” I shrug my shoulder picking my hairbrush again.
“ then I’m happy being childish ” he smiled holding my hands.
“ ven stop I….. ” I couldn’t complete my sentence when he quickly seal my mouth with a kiss something on my neck and I know he is unlocking the enchantment I pushed him away but my body is on fire a great fire.
“ Riven please leave me alone I’m not ready for all these ” I said with closed eyes because I know my blue eyes are shining every now and then.
“ but Marielle why are you so cold to me? Why? I did nothing wrong but loving you Marielle. ” he said with a sorrowful tone.
“ Riven I’m sorry please just leave me alone ” I said still not opening my eyes but trying to hide my pearls too because I can’t control my tears.
Riven’s POV
I can’t understand why Elle is doing this to me but we kissed yesterday at the ocean but none of this happen now she is pushing me away. Wait did she have a secret boyfriend I don’t know of? Well its my problem to find whoever is disturbing her heart because I know she loves me I look at the pearl necklace I got her oh I forgot to give her well I will later.
“ ha you must be Elle’s boyfriend my mom was talking about you ” a young lady younger than Elle said behind me oh my god! Is she Elle’s twin?
“ and you are? ” I said scratching my head.
“ I’m Eva Elle’s cousin I will be attending same school with you starting from next week actually I’m not younger than Elle we are agemates but not twin ”.
All my life I’ve never met a talkative but this girl named Eva is a human parrot. Well she is beautiful and don’t get me wrong she is only beautiful because she looks like Elle but the opposite of Elle. Elle hardly speak but this is a perfect definition of a talkative.
“ see you at the party ” Eva waved before walking to Elle’s room.
Elle’s POV
The door opened again I thought it is riven but it turn out to be Eva my cousin.
“ sis ” she called.
“ yes ”.
“ what’s wrong with your boyfriend? ” Eva asked cracking her knuckle. She looks exactly like me a little bit older though.
“ I’m trying to understand Riven but the more I try to get closer to Riven the more my secret drive me away from him ” I sniff trying to hold my emotions. “ if he truly loves you Elle he will accept you as the mermaid you are come on sis today is your birthday you have to get you know what I mean with your boyfriend ” she gave me a wink before sitting down on my bed. She choose my dress, cut my hairs a little and she did my make up I hope Riven hasn’t left to see how beautiful I am right now.
“ wow dear sis you looking so beautiful ” Eva complimented me after putting a necklace on my neck.
The party is interesting and I got to meet my extended family wow my grandma and grandaunt are looking ladies in their thirties that’s what being mermaid offer us forever young that’s it.
After the party I felt a little bit tipsy like I’m drunk I went outside to get a very fresh air and I was surprised to see riven sitting on a bench staring into space I sat beside him and he look surprised.
“ Elle you are drunk” he said and I laughed.
“ handsome and immature Riven who left me because I refuse to kiss him ” I laughed holding his cheeks.
“ Elle but you pushed me away sometimes I doubt if you even love me ”.
“ I want to hold you in my arms and kiss you but I can’t because of a reason” I mumbled and he stare at me I know he heard.
“ why? ”
“ I’m a mermaid ”.
