Episode 6 : Settle into the Walter Mansion
The both walked into a room, the room was huge and was painted in pink, there were toys at each corner of the room
“This is Catherine’s room” he said while she nodded then he points to a door “and here is your room” he said urging her to walk into the room with him, the room was two times bigger than her room at Beatrice’s apartment. She smiled as she scanned the room then looked at Charles she found him watching her.
He let out a cough to clear his throat.
“I guess I’m done here,I’ll be leaving for work, but before that I have a very important rule to lay which is…..”
He walked closer to her while Mira lower her gaze .
“My room is closer to yours,it’s a restricted area, I don’t close my doors, and I don’t except you to go into my room,is that clear” he said firmly while she quickly nodded.
“Yes sir”.
He turned then went to the door, he gave her one last stare before walking out of the room.
Jezz! What a boss, she could sense some know kind of anger in his eyes and she wonder why he was angry. Her thought were distracted when she head a knock at the door, she went to open it and found a charming looking man standing at her door, he was dressed in a simple white long sleeve and black trousers and a White apron tied around his waist.
“Hello” Mira said since the man was just quite starring at her as if she was the first girl he have ever set his his on.
“Hi… I’m sorry.. You must be the new nanny, am I right” he said Mira nodded.
“My name is Stanley, I’m the house keeper and also the cook” he said with a charming smile.
“Oh!its nice meeting you Stanley” she said smiling too.
“Umm.. I brought you your luggage” he said giving her her luggage she took it then thanked him .”breakfast is been served downstairs, I don’t know if you would like to have breakfast”he said still with a smile “no thanks I already have breakfast while coming” she said humbly.
“OK, I guess I’ll go back to my duty post,do enjoy your stay”he said then turned to leave but he didn’t leave without giving her a smile.
Mira sighed as she went back into her room, what a house! all the workers here are all male, so she is been surrounded by male colleagues, what a weird boss? And wait a minute… What about his wife?,she have not heard anything about her since she arrived.
Or are they divorce? How would she know when her boss is too strict and does not give room for any discussion.
After a while she came out of her room just to explore her new environment, she saw another man,he was holding a water can and he was sweating ,he must be a gardener,she thought .
“hi, I’m Kelvin you must be the new nanny “Kelvin said while Mira nodded.
” Yes, my name is Mira it’s nice meeting you Kelvin “she said wanting to give him a handshake.
” oops my hands are dirty miss, I wouldn’t want to stain yours”he said showing her his dirty hands while she gave out a smile, she could she that Kelvin was friendly,he would be the right person to tell her about Charles’s wife.
“Please I’ll like to ask you a question Kelvin if you don’t mind” she said.
“Oh yes please go ahead” he urged her.
“I’ll like to know about sir Charles wife,I haven’t heard anything about her since I arrive” she said then she saw his eyes weary a bit.
“Sir Charles wife is dead, she died three year ago” Kelvin said sadly.
Mira heart melt instantly.
Episode 7 : Charles’s Tragic Past
Mira was surprised to hear that sir Charles is widower, so sad! This must be the reason behind his coldness, she felt pity for him,she wonder what he must be going through to raise a his child with her mother beside her.
“She was a very nice person, so peaceful and caring, she loves smiling,it was so sad we lost her” Kelvin said sadly.
“I can see you know her well Kelvin” Mira said, Kelvin smiled immediately.
“Yes Mira, I’ve been working here for years” he said “oh well,I have to go back to my duty post,see you around soon” he said then left her.
Mira tried to sink in the sad information she just heard before she heard her name from a soft voice.
“Aunt Mira!”
She smiled as she sighted Catherine running towards her for a hug.
“Hi Catherine, welcome home” Mira bend to hug her.” I have been expecting you all morning, I’m so happy to see you”Catherine exclaimed, Mira chuckles.
“Oh same here pretty, I hope you had a nice day at school today?” Mira asked.
“Yes I did”. ” alright that’s good to hear,come on let’s get you change and then we would have lunch together and then get your assignment done, okey?” Mira said while Catherine nodded happily.
Mira got found of Catherine immediately, the little girl was so much fun to be with,she was eager to learn and she was always smiling, Mira guess she took that habit from her mother, they both ate together,played together and even had nap together, immediately Mira had passion for Catherine.
Charles tapped the tip of his pen on his desk as he tried to concentrate on his laptop, damn it! Did he just allow a woman staff in his house?how did his sister lure him into doing this? Did she chant a spell on him?
Oh Goodness that nanny! She…. She is so beautiful, her eyes were doing things to him,most especially her voice, oh God! This is not good, how come he is thinking about her,is he really going to live with her?
He stared at his phone for a while before picking the incoming call.
“Hello Katie, I was actually thinking about you” he said In a lower tone.
“Oh brother how sweet of you…”
“Silly,I was actually thinking of the silly thing you lead me to do” he groaned angrily.
“What” Katie asked innocently.
“The nanny is already in my house Katie” he mutter under his breath.
“Oh that’s nice to hear,anyways I’m coming over for dinner, I’ll like to see the new Nanny” she said happily.
“Don’t come over,I’m really upset with you” he said ,he heard her laughed.
“I know,but you can’t stop me from coming baby boy,see you in the evening” she said then hang up before Charles could say a word, Charles slammed the phone angrily on his desk.
“Damn you little brat!” He said angrily.
Episode 8 : Charles’s Internal Struggle
Charles came home a little bit exhausted from work, he was already taking off his tie before getting to the door, he got a warm greeting from his sweet Catherine, he got amazed to see a bright smile on her face.
“How was your day my little pumpkin?” He asked Catherine while he kissed her on her forehead.
“Great daddy, I had lots of fun today with aunt Mira, we had lunch together and also played at the garden, she even promised me bedtime story tonight, oh daddy she’s amazing” Catherine exclaimed, Charles was stunned or rather surprise to her his daughter praising the new nanny, he looked at Mira who only kept her eyes down shyly, he let out a small smile.
“Is that so baby?” He asked.
“Yes daddy” she smiled.
“Well that’s good to hear, I can see you’re getting use to your nanny, oh pumpkin daddy is so tired and hungry.
I’ll like to go and freshen up and come downstairs for dinner, okey?” Charles said while Catherine nodded, he walked closer to Mira.
“Good…good evening sir” Mira stammer, she wonder why she is always feeling unease whenever he looks at her or stand so closer to her.
Charles only stared at her before going up to his room.
After a while Charles came downstairs looking freshly dressed in a simpler wear. He smiled as he joined them for dinner, it was really not a bad idea to cine home and have dinner with his child,the feeling was amazing. Then he shifted his gaze to Mira who was really engrossed on feeding Catherine properly, he got lost watching her not until someone came in to distract him.
“May I join you guys?”
Catherine exclaimed in excitement at the sight of the person.
“Aunt Katie!” She rushed up to Katie for hug.
“You’re already having dinner without me? So unfair” Katie pouted her lips.
“We weren’t expecting you for dinner aunt” Catherine said.
“Daddy was excepting me baby,I told him I would be coming over for dinner” Katie said as she glared at Charles.
“He never mentioned it”Catherine said as she turned to look at her father waiting for an explanation, Charles smiled when he the looks on the face of his daughter and sister.
He cleared his throat loudly.
” oh I’m so sorry, I guess I must have forgotten”he lied.
Katie knew he was lieing so she frown at him,she i ignored him as she turned to look at the pretty stranger sitting next to Catherine.
“Hello,you must be the new nanny if I’m not mistaken” Katie said with a smile, Mira nodded.
“Yes,I’m Mira Dickson”.
“It nice meeting you Mira, my name is Katie I’m Charles one and only lovely twin sister” Katie said proudly, Mira was surprised to find out that her boss has a twin, how amazing! She should have know since the similar looks was there between them.
“So tell me Mira, I hope Catherine was well behave today, I hope she didn’t stress you out?” Katie asked.
“Oh no,Catherine is a well behave child” Mira compliment.
“Oh is she” Katie asked as she gave Catherine a playful glare.
“Yes aunty,I’m a well behave child” Catherine protest. Katie chuckles.
“I know baby, I aunt Mira wouldn’t want to be stressed out okey” Katie said as sh finally took her seat.
“Thank goodness I came right on time if not there might not be dinner left for me, and I have to go to bed on an empty stomach” Katie said looking at Charles with a frown while Charles just ignored her, he did not invite her anyway.
Episode 9 : Dinner with the Walter Family
They were all quite as they eat from their food, meanwhile Charles kept on stealing glance at Mira, watching her every move,Mira was smiling at Catherine as she watched her eat,all this that was happening Katie noticed it.
After they were done with their dinner Mira told Catherine.
“Pretty,it’s time to prepare you to bed,you know you have to go to bed early” Catherine gave her a nod.
“Aunt Mira you know you also promised me bed time story” Catherine reminded her,Mira smiled with a nod.
“Yes baby,that will be right after we put you into your pyjamas okey” Mira cooed while Catherine happily nodded then gave Charles and Katie goodnight kiss.
“Hurry aunt Mira or else it will be too late for the bedtime story” Catherine said as she pulled Mira upstairs with her.
Charles watched them as they both left the dinning table then he turned to find his sister watching him with a annoying grin on her face.
“She is good right?” Katie asked.
“Who?”
“Mira of course, I can see that Catherine already like her” she said,Charles said nothing as he sip slowly from his wine.
“She is really beautiful,didn’t you see those blue eyes of hers…. It seems you like her”.
Her last statement almost made him chock on his drink,he glared at her.
“Like who?” He asked.
“Oh come on don’t tell me you don’t like her,I noticed how you’ve been starring at her” Katie teased him and it really got him pissed off.
“You know what,you’ve done enough honey,I guess it’s time you go home I’m sure your husband must be expecting you” Charles said Katie frown at him.
“Are you sending me away?”
“Yes I am,go home Katie”.
She angrily stood up “i only came for my niece and the new nanny, if it were for you I don’t think I’ll want to set foot into this house” she told him while he gave her a taunting smile.
“Well I never invited you over,and don’t expect me to invite you” he said she turned to leave before she heard him saying.
“Won’t you tell me goodnight baby sister?” He teased her the more.
“I hate you” she mutter.
Charles laughed.
“I love you” he said.
She turned angrily and left the house while Charles kept on laughing his angry sister, he was used to her silly behavior and he always praised her husband for enduring her.
“Good night drama queen” he muttered.
He stood up and then instructed Stanley to clear up the table,then he went up too Catherine to check up on her only find her crawled next to her nanny sleeping so soundly, they have Cinderella story book open next to them while they held each other as if they were really close.
Charles took the book and then cover it before placing it back on the bed,he looked at them both and then he began to feel jealous, he thought after getting a nanny for Catherine she would only want to be by his side ,but look! She is sleeping next to her new nanny, oh! He felt really jealous.
He will just let them be for now, he is not going to allow any Nanny snatch away his child from him. He thought as he left the room.
Episode 10 : Charles’s Protective Nature
Mira yawn loudly as she rub her eyes then open it gently, she smiled as she looked at the pretty creature sleeping next to her, she must have slept off while reading her a bedtime story. The kid was so adorable,if she ever had a child of her own she wish the child could be like Catherine.
She gently tap Catherine,
“Wake up sunshine” Mira whispers into her ear while Catherine groaned.
“I still want to sleep some more” Catherine murmured, Mira chuckles.
“Hey come on, you can’t sleep now,you have to get ready for school”.
She said as she pulled Catherine out from the bed,Catherine groaned again.
“Why do kids have to go to school and daddies have to go to work? I wanna go to work as daddy does” she complained, Mira laughed at her silliness “daddy went to school that’s the reason why he is working, no school then no work” Mira said, Catherine looked at her for a while trying to buy her words convincing.
“Really aunt Mira?” She asked.
“Yes Catherine”Mira nodded, before she could blink her eyes Catherine rushed off to the bathroom.
” aunt Mira I can’t find my toothbrush, please hurry up or I’ll be late for school “Catherine shouted from the bathroom.
” yes..yes I’m coming “Mira said as she went into the bathroom, what a child!
Charles watched as Catherine was rushing her breakfast.
” slow down pumpkin, why are you in a hurry?”he asked curiously, he knew Catherine never rush her food before going to school.
“I’ll be late for school daddy” she told him,Charles glance at his wristwatch.
“Well, it’s still early I’m sure you’d get to school on time” he told her but she ignored him.
After eating her breakfast Catherine kissed her father goodbye and then waved Mira before running to met Gabriel who drove her to school.
“What’s up with her?” Charles muttered to himself, he turned and the found Mira starring at him before taking her gaze away from him as usual.
He adjusted his expensive suit before taking his briefcase, he turned towards the door before he heard her voice.
“Excuse me Sir…”
“Yes?” He answered reluctantly, Mira moved a bit closer to him with her head bow.
“Sorry to disturb you sir, I only wanted to seek for you permission to go met a friend of mine, I just want to get some stuff from her, I promise to back soon” she said gently, Charles stared at her for a while.
“You have my permission to go” he said.
“Oh thank you sir” she lifted her head with a smile which got him find her really pretty but he shrugged the thought out of his head.
“But….” He said as he glare at her which took the smile away from her face.
“You must get back home before noon, do you get me” he said firmly while she quickly nodded.
“Yes Sir” she replied.
He turned then left, Mira heavy a sighed, what a strict boss, she wouldn’t have planned to go anywhere if she had not forgotten her favourite laptop at Beatrice place,she just can’t stay without it, she just have to quickly get her laptop and then come back to work on time just as her boss instructed her, with his looks she does not want to get on his bad side.
