Episode 21 : Parent’s Day at Catherine’s School
Finally the day is here, Mira was drove along with Charles and Catherine to the nursery school for parent’s day, Catherine felt really happy that her daddy and her nanny came along with her, last section it was her grandparents that went with her but this time around would be her most favourite people and she felt really happy.
Mira got to the school and she met Katie and her husband, she later find out that Katie had a son Jordan who was in the same class with Catherine.
All parent were asked to seat at the school hall while the children prepare for their presentation, Mira felt chilled in her spine when sir Charles sat next to her, she felt odd like was he really seating next to her?
Charles on the other hand tried to avoid eyes contact with her, two kids from each grades were asked to compete in a quiz competition, Catherine and john were selected . Mira smiled as she watched Catherine answering her questions,she felt really proud for the little kid, Charles could not stop starring at Mira as he saw the excitement in her eyes.
At the end of the competition Catherine took first and she won a prize,a golden trophy, Mira did not know when she stood up and cheered for Catherine, waving at her from the crowd, Catherine smiled when she sighted her then she signal her to come over to the stage, Mira felt shy instantly, she was not used in facing a crowd most especially sir Charles sitting among them.
“Go Mira, Catherine needs you, come on go” Katie urged her, Mira smiled as she nervously went to Catherine and the hugged her
“Congratulation honey” Mira said, “thank you aunt Mira” Catherine said happily, she looked at the crowd and then saw Charles smiling at them she also urged him to come up stage, Charles quickly went up to the stage then he embraced Catherine and spun her around causing to giggle.
“I’m so proud of you baby” he said after putting her back on.
“Thank you daddy, thank you aunt Mira,I love you guys so much” Catherine said while she pull them both together to embrace then not knowing their body would clenched to each other, Mira was really surprised to find herself in Charles arms, his hand went around her waist and his sliver eyes stared into hers, they kept on starring at each other for so long not until the applaud from the crowd brought them back to their senses and then caused them to break free from each other, Mira could still feel sir Charles arms around her and she felt strange about it , she felt…..safe and peace in his arm, she felt like he should hold her like that and never let go.
Episode 22 : Triumph and Family Bonding
Catherine was so excited as she showed her trophy to her friends and every one that was present at the hall. Charles smiled as he saw the excitement in his daughter, she looks happy.
“Mr Charles!” He heard Mrs Sandra the headmistress calling him from behind.
“It’s so nice to see you present today Sir, I wasn’t really expecting you to come over” she said, Charles smiled.
“Well, I had to come because of my child, I just can’t miss it for the world” he said truthfully.
“Oh that’s good to hear, I was really surprised to see miss Mira representing Mrs Clara today, I could see the joy in Catherine when she won the prize, Catherine was actually slacking behind then but now she’s really improving and I’ve been noticing it ever since Miss Mira came” Mrs Sandra said, Charles kept mute as he watched her praising Mira.
“It been almost a month see arrive and look Catherine has change for better, miss Mira is really good at her job” Mrs Sandra said
Charles only nodded as he gave her no reply, he could not deny that he did not see changes in his child, he also saw changes in himself too, Mira had change him and he was not himself anymore,she was awaking some dead feelings in him,when he held her at he stage he felt strange, he felt…. some sensual feelings.
Catherine went home happily as she showed her trophy to Stanley and Kelvin,they told her they were proud of her.
“Daddy, I’d like to show my trophy to grandma and grandpa, I want aunt Mira to come along with us” Catherine suggested, Charles wanted to decline but he does not want to ruin the excitement on her face.
“We would be visiting them tomorrow pumpkin” he promise her.
Throughout that day Catherine had her trophy clenched towards her, even when she was asleep Catherine had to push her favourite dolls to the side while her trophy stayed next to her, Mira could not help but smile when she saw Catherine holding her trophy while sleeping, she even had a smile on her face and that look gave Mira some sort of joy.
The next day, Charles took Catherine and Mira over to his parent’s place as promise, Catherine ran out of the car to met her grandparents who sat at he garden, Mira followed Charles from behind as she watched him hugging his mother who smiled while she ruffled his hair like a little boy while Charles laugh as try to smoothen his hair, Mira noticed Charles looks like his mother while he took after his father height.
“Grandma,grandpa look!I won a trophy” Catherine said jumping around while waving the trophy in the air.
“Really Catherine! That’s my girl, I’m so proud of you” grandpa said.
“I’m proud of you too baby, can I hold it?” Grandma said.
“Yes you can” Catherine said cheerfully.
Episode 23 : Emotional Rollercoaster
“Oh wow! This looks lovely” grandma exclaimed, grandpa turned to at Mira.
“Hello you must be the new nanny Charles told us about, am I right?”
Mira smiled as she moved closer to him.
“Yes Sir, my name is Mira Dickson” she gave him a handshake.
“Oh it’s nice meeting you Mira, my name is Michael and here is my wife Irene, we are Charles parent and Catherine’s grandparent” Michael said jovially which made Mira to smile.
“Please let’s go inside, we’ve prepare lunch” Irene said.
They all went into the big house, they have lots of workers which include female and male unlike Charles who had male staffs only,
They all settled down to eat and Mira found Charles parent to be so friendly and jovial, they talked about Charles and Katie when they little and how they loved quarreling and always disagree, Mira laughed at some part she really enjoyed their company, Charles just kept quite as he watched Mira being carried away with his jovial parent, they seem to forget about him sitting with them and talking about him and it hurts, but wonder why he choose to ignore it and just focus on Mira, her smiles and laughter was one of the most beautiful thing he had set his eyes on.
After lunch Catherine asked Mira to come along with her that she would love to show her around the mansion, Mira happily followed her.
“Come son, let’s chat at the garden” Michael said to Charles as they both went to sit at the garden, a maid served then juice.
“I’m really happy to see Catherine looking happy at last” Michael said,
Charles arched his brows.
“Happy at last?she was happy being with you guys” Charles said.
“Yes she was but not as happy as she is right now, the kid is happy being with you son, you’ve been so busy ignoring your own child and it was affecting her” Michael said, Charles sighed sadly.
I didn’t do it on purpose dad, after Clara’s death I haven’t been myself, i …I know I’ve been neglecting Catherine and I’m so sorry about that, is just that I couldn’t use my grief to destroy her life that was my reason of allowing her living with you guys “Charles said sincerely.
” well I’m glad you agreed to have a nanny for Catherine “.
Charles chuckles.
“It was all Katie’s idea” he mutter.
“” it’s a good idea, sometimes listen to your sister’s advice “.
Charles laughed.
“She was lucky I didn’t do something crazy to punish her for doing something against my knowledge” Charles scoffed as he sipped his juice.Michael ignored his statement.
” I can see Catherine likes Mira a lot, they seems to get along so well”Michael said.
“Hmm I guess” Charles murmur as he drew his glass closer to his mouth.
“And it seem you like her” Michael said.
Charles almost choked on his drink.
“What!!!”
Episode 24 : True Colors Revealed
“What!!”
Charles nearly screamed, did he just hear his father right.
“What do you mean that I like her?” He frown at Michael as if he just made an irritating statement.Michael chuckles.
“Don’t tell me you don’t like her because I could see the looks in your eyes each time you look at her” Michael said. Charles frowned harder, well he do not like, yes…he was sure that he do not like her but maybe a little… Or maybe more, oh God! What is he even thinking?
“I don’t like her…I mean I don’t hate her but I don’t like her, she’s Catherine’s nanny you don’t expect me to hate her” Charles said feeling so unease. Michael let out a laugh then sipped his juice.
“Ok son if you say so” he paused “tell me Charles, how far are you going about your love life, any plans for it, you see you’re no more getting any younger and I think you’ve mourned Clara enough” Michael said, Charles sighed this same discussion again.
“Dad, I don’t want to talk about this, and I’ve told you so many times that I’m not getting married any more, I’m no longer interested in marriage” Charles said stubbornly.
“Really son, tell me you’re kidding, this isn’t right you have …….”
He was cut off by Catherine and Mira who came to met them with lot of toys in their hands causing Charles to
laugh.
“Hey where are you taking that to?”
“Home daddy, I’ll like to take Andy, white, Teddy and my fairy star with me, I miss them a lot” Catherine said cheerfully
Charles looked at the toys in their Hands most especially Mira, she look stressed out having hard time with the toys in her hands. Mira wonder if Charles was upset.
“Sir, I tried to stop her but she kept insisting we bring them along with us”.
“No it’s fine, we are taking them home with us” Charles said as he smiled at Catherine who cheered happily.
Charles stood up ready to leave, he pecked his mother and then embraced his father who held him bit and then whispers into his ears.
“Stay happy son” Michael said then released him from hi embrace.
Charles wonder why he felt strange when his father said those words to him.
They all returned back to the mansion when the sun is almost setting, Catherine was already yawning as she get to the door entrance looking exhausted.
“Oh pretty, why don’t you go to your room and wait for me while I get your dinner ready okey” Mira said.
“Ok aunt Mira” Catherine nodded then left while Charles also went up to his room to freshen up.
“Hey Stanley” Mira greeted as she went into the kitchen to prepare dinner for Catherine.
“Oh you guys are back, how was the visit?” Stanley asked , Mira sat on a stool as she watched him preparing dinner.
“It was great, Catherine’s grandparents are so friendly and nice,and Catherine she was feeling so excited to show her trophy to them, the little girl had fun and I had fun too” Mira said happily, Stanley gave her a smile as he watched her talk.
“I can see you guys had fun” he said,he stretch his hand to take a bowl on the kitchen counter but he could not reach it, Mira stood up then gave it to him.
“Here you go” she said then stood next to him.
“Thanks” he said as he looked and her and smile admiring her pretty face as she stood closer to him.
“So tell me Mira, have you ever won a prize” he asked, Mira chuckles.
“Oh yes I did, I have…..” She was cut off by Charles voice.
“What’s going on here?”
They turned to find him staring at them intensively. Most especially Mira, he looks angry.
‘Oh what have I done this time around’mira thought.
Episode 25 : Desperate Plea
Charles decided to have quick shower. ever since his father spoked to him about him liking Mira got him that thinking, just needed a cold shower to
To cool off his brain, after taking his bath, he stood right in front of the mirror starring at his reflection, he just couldn’t get Mira off his mind and it was annoying.
“You said you don’t want a woman in your house but what did you think you’re doing right now? you’re thinking about her” he mutter to himself
Why won’t he think about her?she was so beautiful, so damn beautiful and perfect, more perfect than anything, wait! More perfect than Clara? He groaned angrily.
He sighed, he do not know her but he was already going wild over her,
“Oh, this is not good Charles, stop thinking about her, she’s you’re daughter’s nanny goddamn it” he cursed under his breath.
He finally came out of his room as he decided to go downstairs to have dinner, but to his surprise day dinner was not ready, he arch a brow curiously.
Then he began to hear laughter from the kitchen, wonder who was laughing as he walked over to the kitchen just to find Mira and Stanley discussing.
They seems to enjoy their chat to extend that they did not notice his present, he cleared his throat just to gain their attention and he did.
The both of them turned to look at him in shook.
“What’s going on here?” He asked angrily.
Mira was about to say something but he stopped her.
“Miss Dickson I thought you were suppose to take Catherine dinner to her room?” He said.
“Yes Sir I was about to…..”
“But I guess not, you seem so engross chatting with Stanley isn’t it” he cooed Mira lower her head.
“I’m sorry Sir, I was only telling Stanley how our visit went….”
“That should be right after you’ve taken care if Catherine, do you even know your job miss Dickson?” He said “this is what I hate, when it’s time to work you work, time for chatting or whatever will come right after work, you get it?” He yelled at her, Mira nodded.
He looked at Stanley who also has his head bow.
“And you Stanley, what happen that dinner isn’t ready at this hour?” Charles asked.
“Sir i …. I was …..”
“You were too engrossed in chatting right? It seem you’ve forgotten my rules and it will be your lost when I relief you off your duty” he said furiously
“I’m sorry sir”.
“Sorry for your self, I want my dinner ready in twenty minutes” he said then walked out of the kitchen.
Mira turned to look and Stanley and then found him smiling.
“I guess he is not in a good mood” he whispers then turned to the food, Mira could see he was used to Charles character but she was not, if sir Charles continue like this towards her she may not be able to concentrate.
She sighed sadly as she took Catherine’s food up stairs as she ignored Charles who was already sitting at the dinning table.
Charles watched her as she went upstairs, he could see that she looked sad, he did not mean to be so rude to her but when he saw then together he felt jealous,he hate the feeling that was the reason why he reacted like that.
