CHAPTER 5 & 6 : Secrets and Desires
✨ TRIP ✨
AVA’S PLACE*
Maggie listened attentively as Ava explained all what happened today making Maggie gasp.
“What!!! Ava!!” She exclaimed.
“It was a mistake Aunt Maggie” Ava said, fear in her eyes.
“This is too much, you should have controlled yourself!”
“I know!!” Ava muttered bending her head.
“Ava!” Maggie called and Ava raised her head.
“Yes, aunt Maggie”
“At this point, you need to see a Therapist” She muttered and Ava blinked.
“A therapist…..”
“Yes!”
“Why do I need to see a therapist…” Ava asked.
“You need to Ava, you are letting your emotions control you..” Maggie replied.
Ava let out a loud sigh.
Just then, her phone rang as she checked the caller id to see her colleague name on the screen.
She picked it immediately.
📞 “Hailey….”
📞 “Ava you come to be in the hospital immediately, Boss Mother requested to see you.
📞 “Me….”.
📞 “Yes, hurry up”.
📞 “Ok, I’ll be on my way”.
📞 “Alright” she hung up the call.
Ava let out a weird look as Maggie furrowed her brows.
“Is there anything wrong, Ava” She asked, touching her shoulders.
“The CEO’s mother requested to see me” she replied.
“And why is that..” Maggie asked.
“I don’t know, aunt Maggie” Ava replied.
“Then go hear what she has to say…” She said.
“What about the kids, school would be over soon. It almost time” Ava complained.
“Don’t worry about them, I’ll go pick them up myself” Maggie assured and Ava nodded.
“Thank you, aunt Maggie”
HOSPITAL*
Ava walked towards the ward Mr. Carlos was being bedridden nervousness glaring in her expression.
Her eyes met with her friend that called her and she walked up to her. “Hailey!!” She called and Hailey turned to her.
“Ava!!…over here” Hailey gestured for Ava to come closer.
“Why did his Mother wants to see me?” She asked and Hailey shook her head.
“I don’t know, just go in..” Hailey replied.
Ava took a deep breath and entered the ward to see Mr. Carlos on the bed, his whole head was bandaged, oxygen was placed in his nose as pipes were fixed on him.
She covered her mouth in shock as she looked at him. “Is it that serious” she thought.
Unknowingly, she felt a sting on her cheek as someone slapped her. She turned to the person and saw the supposed mother of Mr. Carlos.
“How dare you!!!” She flared up.
“I’m really sorry ma’am” She held her cheek as her eyes became teary. She regretted what she did but she can’t easily control her emotions either.
“Sorry!!!!, can sorry make him wake up from his coma!!…..” She snapped and Ava’s eyes went agape.
He was in a Coma??
“It was a mista…..”.
“Shut it, don’t say anymore words” The Woman, Mrs. Russell cut her off, her voice rising.
“You made my son like this but you are here, walking freely” She added.
Ava suddenly felt guilty as she bent her head, she bit her lips tightly since she is speechless.
“I would have sacked you from his company then get you arrested but I won’t do that yet” Mrs. Russell spat and Ava looked up.
“I know how Carlos wished and wanted to be contracted with the Dawson’s Company” she paused. “but you just want to make this opportunity slide away but I won’t let you do that” She added making Ava curious.
“You’ll go for the trip alone and get the contract as a representative” Mrs. Russell blurted making Ava gasp.
“Surprised right??, You’ll do it yourself and don’t come back without getting the contract or else you’ll find yourself behind bars” Mrs. Russell threatened.
“But……”.
“Hey…I need no complains Miss. You’ll regret it if you don’t do what I want” She snapped, cutting her off as Ava blinked out tears she has been trying hard to clear.
“Your flight has been booked already, get ready in few days” Mrs. Russell muttered.
“Now out!!!!” She half yelled and Ava wiped her tears continuously as she walked out of the ward ignoring Hailey’s calls.
How would she do it? Of all company!, It had to be the Dawson’s Company?, It can be too competitive but she can’t do it alone? Besides, she doesn’t want to leave her kids behind? How would she comprehend this??.
What a mess!!!!!.
DAWSON’S FASHION~SHANE’S OFFICE***
Shane was seen In the middle of the Large luxurious office sitting on his swivel chair as he was attending to some emails in his Laptop.
Instantly, the door to his office opened and Alicia entered.
“Sir, you called for me” She said.
“What are my schedules for today, I can’t find it here” He asked, his eyes fixed on his laptop.
“You only have a movie shoot by 12PM with Michelle Morales” She replied.
“Is that all” .
“Yes sir..” she muttered.
“What says the time” he asked again.
“It still past 10” she replied and he nodded.
“You can go” He said and she mouthed an ‘okay’ before leaving.
Just then, his phone dinged and he saw a message from Anthony.
📩 “Hey buddy, let meet” he read and he rested back on his chair turning around.
📩 “Busy dude!! Later” he typed back and dropped his phone.
He let out a loud sign and continued his job.
BEACH 12PM*
As the sun set over the beach, Michelle and Shane found themselves alone on the set filming the final of scene episode of the latest movie trending in California.
They stood facing each other.
The camera panned in capturing every nuance of their expression.
“My love,” Shane whispered “From the moment I met you, I knew you were the one for me.”
Michelle’s heart skipped a beat as she gazed into his eyes. She wished it was really true “My heart belongs to you,” she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
Shane took a step closer taking her hand. “You are the sunshine that brightens every day,” he said, his voice filled with conviction.
Michelle’s face inches closer to his, their lips almost touching. “You are the stars that light up my night,” she whispered back.
As the camera panned out, capturing the tender moment, Shane’s lips brushed against Michelle’s, sending shivers down her spine.
“I love you now and forever,” Shane whispered, his lips moving against hers.
“I love you more with every passing day,” Michelle replied, her voice muffled by their kiss.
The camera continued to roll as Michelle savoured Shane’s lips. Just as she was about to deepen it, he broke it immediately.
“Cut”.
“That perfect!!!!!” Mr. Jones smiled as Michelle let out a little frown.
“He didn’t even allow me kiss those lips properly” she groaned inwardly as she gazed at Shane whose eyes were somewhere else.
Shane took a bottle of water from one of the crew and gulped it down his throat. He soon stood up and walked away from the set wiping the Michelle’s lipstick from his lips.
STUDIO*
Just as they got back to the studio, Shane went to the changing room immediately.
He changed his clothes and walked towards the door, before he could open it, someone already opened it turning out to be Michelle.
“Hey” she smiled at him.
“Hi, anything wrong”.
“No, just wanted us to take a walk” she said and he shook his head.
“Not interested, going home” He muttered and moved away from the door going outside.
Michelle bit her lips sadly as she stared at his retreating backs “I’ll surely have him soon” she licked her lips and followed Shane.
Just as they got outside, Fans and the media already crowded the place as they couldn’t get to their cars.
They keep asking questions as they tightened themselves.
Shane wanted to go back in when his bodyguards came immediately and pushed them away from the way. Michelle quickly held Shane arms tightening her arm around it.
Shane turned to her, his face blank and she smiled at him.
He would have removed her hands but he doesn’t want the fans in front of them get the wrong idea. The clicking of the Camera was heard from each sides as it captured Shane and Michelle.
👥 “You two look cute together”.
👥 “Oh my!!!, I’m shipping them”.
👥 “My favorite couples”.
👥 “When are you releasing the last episode of WHISPERS OF THE HEART”.
👥 “I can’t wait for the final episode’.
👥 “Are you two dating”.
👥 “They’re obviously dating, can’t believe the Almighty Shane is with a woman”.
Michelle blushed on hearing that as her mind went elsewhere. She wished he could just ask her out but he wasn’t letting her close to him.
Shane furrowed his brows when he heard that and he slightly removed his hands from Michelle moving faster away from the fans. Michelle followed his pace not wanting to leave his side.
They walked away from the studio down to the garage with the help of the bodyguard.
He fasten his pace down to his car as Michelle came over.
“Shane!!” She called and he turned back.
“Can you please take me to your penthouse!!!, I can’t be able to go to mine. I’m pretty sure fans would have flooded my place” she lied pleading.
“No” he replied bluntly as the chauffeur opened the door while he entered.
Her eyes fell as she clamps her lips together. The car drove away in her sight and she stamped her lips together.
She brought out a spray from her bag and threw it away to the other side groaning frustrating.
Her phone ringed and she picked in on knowing the caller.
📞 “Hello” she grunted frustratingly.
📞 “Bestie, I just saw you on the news, is it going well” her friends asked.
📞 “The plan is not working at all, I told you he won’t allow me go to his home” Michelle yelled.
📞 “Calm down baby girl, there is always hope…..come home already”
Michelle cut off the call and walked towards her car.
Ava eyes were red as Maggie pulled her close consoling her.
“You don’t have to be sad Ava” she patted her.
“I accepted it my fault, he is in a coma because of me……”
Maggie sighed loudly.
“It because you let your emotions take the better part of you, that why I suggested you should see a therapist”
“Aunt Maggie”
“Yes Ava…”
“You know I can’t leave my kids behind….”
“You have to if you don’t want to go to jail. besides, I’m here no harm would come to them” Maggie assured cleaning her eyes.
Just then, Kyle came downstairs yawning like he has been sleeping.
Ava quickly cleaned her eyes and her gaze was locked.
“Mum” Kyle called.
“Yes baby” she let out a smile.
“Why is your eyes red!!, are you crying” He said as he approached her.
“No, something just entered my eye…” She lied as she touched her eye lashes.
“Mum…..”.
“Have you eaten lunch..” Maggie quickly changed the topic and he shook his head.
“No, aunt Maggie”
“Your Lunch is ready in the dining, go eat yours okay!” She flashed him a smile and he left.
Ava watched as he went to the dining, her mind heavy and occupied.
“You don’t have to worry Ava, it just three weeks right?” She asked and Ava nodded.
“I’ll still be here….your kids would be fine” Maggie assured her and she nodded.
DAYS LATER~AIRPORT
Ava walked to the airport with her twins, Maggie followed helping with Ava’s luggages.
She verified her visa and they all went to the waiting room. The twins were down on knowing their mom would be traveling without them as they clutched Ava tightly.
“Mummy” Kayla called and Ava turned to her.
“Can’t we come with you?” She asked.
“I’m sorry Kayla, you can’t, it a business trip not a personal trip!” She replied, her voice low as she patted Kayla’s hair.
“I don’t want to leave you” Kayla muttered holding onto her.
“I don’t want to either but I need to go Kayla” She flashed her a sly smile.
Just then, they announced that the plane would be taking off soon and that those in the waiting room should board the plane immediately.
Ava stood up and the twins stood up too, their eyes fluffy as they held Ava’s hand.
They walked towards the plane and Kyle dragged her back immediately she wanted to take the step.
She turned to them and bent to their level. “Mummy” Kayla called.
“I don’t want you to go” Kyle muttered and Ava hugged them both.
“It just for three weeks babies, Aunt Maggie would be with you two” She said as she broke the hug cleaning their eyes.
“It too long!!”
“I know but be a good child and don’t frustrate Aunt Maggie, okay!!” She said and they nodded sadly. They don’t really want her to go.
“I’ll miss you mum” they chorused and hugged her again. Ava smiled and patted their backs as Maggie watched them intensely.
“Kids, mummy needs to go” Maggie took their hands away from Ava.
Ava stood up and her gaze locked with Maggie. “Be confident Ava, you’ll get it” Maggie muttered and she nodded with a hint of determination.
“And again, don’t let your emotions take over you!, Be careful not to land yourself into any other mess” Maggie said and Ava smiled lowly.
“Okay, Aunt Maggie” She muttered, giving her an assuring nods as she turned their backs on them going up the stairs.
“Bye mum!!” Kyle and Kayla waved at her, deep down they are sad.
Ava waved back smiling till she entered the plane completely and soon, it took off flying into the air.
Meanwhile, Ava let out a deep breath on her seat as she took a look at her kids from the window.
She is going into a new environment but she doesn’t know what it has in store for her…
CHAPTER 7 & 8 : Surviving Trauma – Ava’s Nightmares Return
“You’ll pay for playing with my feelings Stella” A hoarse voice came grabbing Ava’s shoulders making her to be Afraid
The room was really dark that she couldn’t see a thing not even his face, only his eyes were visible as it pierced into hers.
“But sir, I’m not Stella…. please let me go” She tried to release herself from his grip but he held her tighter.
“You won’t go anywhere stella, I’ll torture you….make you feel all the pains you caused me……all this years” He growled pushing her towards the bed.
“Ahhhh” she screamed.
“I’m not Stella sir, please…let…me…go” She pleaded but it went on deaf ears.
She wanted to get up but he pinned her back tearing off her dress. She struggled to push him away but he was too strong.
She parted her mouth to talk but couldn’t as he pushed his full length inside her.
“Ahhhhhh”…
Ava quickly sprang up from the bed, her heart beating fast and her head ponding furiously. Her hair was scattered all over her sweaty face as her eyes roamed around the bright room. She always sleep with the light on, a habit born from her fear of darkness.
Her eyes met with the clock and saw it still 3PM.
She held her pounding forehead and let out a loud sigh. “When is this going to end…” She mumbled under her breath.
She closed her eyes maybe she could still get some sleep but it wasn’t coming. She can’t sleep as she stayed awake all through.
NEXT MORNING*
It was the first day of the meeting as Ava stood up from the bed going to prepare for it.
Minutes Later, she was in front of her mirror dressed already, she quickly tied her hair into a messy bun. Just then, her phone rang and she checked the caller id to see it A video call from Maggie.
She let out a smile and picked it placing it on the table.
Kyle and Kayla face came to view immediately and their eyes gleamed as they met.
“Mummy” they screamed making Ava laugh.
“Moi babies, how are you two doing?” She asked, smiles on her face.
“We’re fine mum, but we miss you already” Kyle pouted and she Chuckled.
“I’ve missed you too baby, are you dressed for school?” She asked and they moved back showing them fully on their uniforms.
“Aunt Maggie dressed us up earlier!” Kayla muttered as she spin around.
“Where is she!!!?”
“I think she is inside the kitchen!” Kyle replied.
“How do you easily get access to her phone?” Ava asked.
“We are the smart kids mum!, We’ve got ideas” Kyle said beating his chest and Kayla laughed.
Instantly, Maggie appeared in the screen as the twins turned to her.
“Aunt Maggie” Ava greeted.
“How you doing, Ava?” She asked.
“I’m fine, Aunt Maggie……hope the kids are not stressing you” .
“No…not that, they are actually sweet” Maggie said and Ava smiled.
“Okay, I need to go. See you later babies” She smiled at Kyle and Kayla.
“Bye mum!!!!” They chorused waving their hands and she hung up the call.
She let out a sigh and wore her heels, taking her iPad before placing it inside her bag. She picked up her phone from the table and took the bag walking out of the room.
DAWSON’S FASHION COMPANY*
Ava went to the meeting room as directed by the receptionist. All eyes fell on her as she entered, the office was so big just like a hall.
This type of Contract is only held in ten years everyone has always wished to collaborate with the Dawson’s but couldn’t.
The Contract only lasted for ten years as another company would take over after the meeting.
There are more than 40 company owners with secretary behind them to compete with for the collaboration with Dawson’s company but only she was the only representative.
Most of them are all older than her.
“How am I going to do this” she said inwardly as she found an empty seat, taking it immediately.
“Hey, where is your secretary” A woman beside her asked.
“Secretary?. I’m a representative and a secretary” She replied and the woman furrowed her brows.
“I doubt if she’ll get this contract…..” Someone in front of her said and Ava bit her lips.
“You have to do this Ava” she said to herself inwardly.
Instantly, Shane Dawson and his Shareholders entered the room and Everyone stood up greeting.
As soon as Shane took his seat others did while Alicia stood behind him with a file in her palm.
“Let begin” He muttered and the meeting started in earnest.
“We only need just one company to collaborate with ours, but first we’ll start with an introduction” one of the shareholders said and the introduction started.
“I’m Diego Mortinez, I own DM Fashion Company” The one at the front introduced till they got to the back where Ava seatmate was.
The woman stood up introducing herself. “I’m Jessica Simpson, I own Jessy’s Fashion” she sat back.
Ava stood up nervously immediately as all eyes were on her.
“I’m Ava Knight, a representative of Pacific Designs” She muttered as some furrowed her brows.
“A representative!!” One of the shareholders repeated and she nodded.
“Representative are not supposed to be here!!?” Another one said. Shane raised his hands and silence filled the room.
“It doesn’t matter” he said and waved his hands for them to continue.
Ava gulped down nothing and sat down as it continues. Soon, they started with idea with the help of the projector at the center of the room.
The explanation continued for hours and soon, it was Ava turn and she walked towards the elevator. Shane eyes were on her all through.
She began her explanation in earnest as everywhere went silent. Shane couldn’t take his eyes off her.
Her steps, her voice which were like rhythm to his ears even everything about her feels typically different to him as his eyes eyes were on her till she was done.
The Shareholders clapped at her idea once she was done. “I like that”.
“Perfect!!!”
Ava smiled as she felt a sense of hope in their complement and she went back to her seat. Shane didn’t say a word as his eyes followed her.
“Sir…” He heard Alicia’s voice from behind and he shook his head immediately taking his eyes off Ava.
“What is it….” He asked.
“We’ve been waiting for your decision” she replied and he cleared his throat instantly.
The shareholders passed a paper to him and he checked through it before nodding for them to go on.
They collected it and one of them stood up. ” The first ten I would call would have the grace of attending the next meeting, then the rest…..
goodbye” he said as his eyes went through the note.
“Yielding Fashion Company.
DM Fashion Company.
Everest Designs
Jessy’s Fashion and Lastly” he paused as Ava held both her hands nervously waiting for the last name.
“And lastly, Pacific Designs” he Muttered and she closed her eyes releasing a sigh of relief as it washed through her.
“To those who aren’t part of those, I’m sorry but you’ll need to compete again in the next ten years!!!…. Good luck” Shane muttered and stood up going out of the room then others followed.
Ava was overhyped as she walked out of the room down to the exit of the company, smiles filled on her face.
SHANE’S OFFICE~4PM*
The rustling of papers could only be heard in the office as Shane checked all the documents in front of him.
His phone rang and he checked it to see Anthony’s Name on the screen. He took it and picked it placing it on his ears.
📞 “Heyyyyyyyyyy”
Shane removed the phone from his ears dropping it. He covered his ears tightly as Anthony screamed loudly.
📞 “Are you nut?!, Why are you screaming” He asked.
📞 “I’m just happy, come over to the personal joint”.
📞 “I’m busy tony”.
📞 “You’re always busy, let meet by 6PM or I’ll come kick off your balls wherever you are.
📞 “Fine” Shane mumbled and dropped his phone.
He sighed and just then, Alicia entered the office.
“I’m done with these sir” she muttered dropping a pile of documents on his tables.
“Get me the information of those that are part of the last ten candidate” he Said and she furrowed her brows. Shane never cares to know who they are but he is asking for it.
She nodded slightly “ok sir” then she left his office.
She came back with the file and and an iPad dropping it on his table.
“Sir” she called and he looked up.
“One of the clients forgot an iPad but I don’t know who owns it” she said and his eyes caught the iPad on the table.
“Just Leave it” he muttered and she nodded before leaving.
Shane took it as his eyes scanned the papers till it landed on a particular one and a slow smile spread across his face.
Why is he smiling??
He quickly let out a frown as Alicia came in again.
“Sir, Miss Michelle is here to see you” She muttered.
“Let her in” he said and she left.
Soon, Michelle entered the office claded in a blue short strapless gown which is just below her butt.
She licked her lips and sat down in front of him placing her hands on the table.
“Hey Shane”
“Why are you here, Michelle” he asked.
“I just want us to talk…” She replied.
“About what?”
“About us!!’ she replied and he looked up as she winked at him.
“Us!!!”
“The fans wants us to be together, why don’t we make it real” she suggested trying to touch him but he slapped her hands away.
“Stop it Michelle, the fans are not a dictator. They’re only saying what they see which isn’t real” He snapped and her face fell.
“I don’t have anything to do with you Michelle and I will not. If you don’t have anything else to say…Leave” He said firmly and she twitched her lips staring at him.
How could he reject me like that??
She bit her lips angrily as it bursted. “Then I’ll have you the other way” she smirked in her mind and stood up walking out of the office.
Shane eyes caught the iPad on the table and he took it. His eyes scanned it, as curious as he is, he switched it on immediately.
The photo of a twin kids appeared on the face of the screen and he furrowed his brows.
6PM~PERSONAL HANGOUT*
Shane walked into the building to see Anthony and Isabella discussing.
“Hey buddy!!” Anthony exclaimed on seeing him bumping fist with him.
Shane sat on the couch tiredly and Isabella came to sit beside him. “Shane, are you okay” she asked.
“I’m fine, just tired” he replied. She tried to touch his chest when he held her hand instantly.
“Don’t!!!” He snapped dropping her hands and she bit her lips sadly.
“Today is Movie Night, what your favorite Shane” Anthony asked.
“I don’t have any”.
“Then let watch his movie, Whispers of the heart” Anthony suggested.
“It seems boring to me” She scoffed knowing Michelle would be shown with Shane as she picked up her phone.
“It always boring to you” he said.
“Shane, Mr. Jones said you have another movie shoot with Mitchelle Next month………fans are waiting for a season 2” Anthony said.
“He never told me that…” Shane protested.
“Well you know now”.
Isabella was on her phone throughout as she texted someone smirking inwardly.
“What are you doing on your phone Ella” Anthony tried to collect it but she quickly moved it away making him fall on the floor.
“Oh Gawd……you almost killed me for my babies Ella” he groaned and she rolled her eyes.
“I’ll be upstairs, Tony” Shane stood up and walked towards the stairs.
“Why are you going upstairs, we still have something to do” Anthony said and Shane turned back.
“Like what!!!” He furrowed his brows and Anthony approached him placing his arms on his neck.
“Let go upstairs, I wanna show you something……” He flash a smile and took him up.
Mitchelle stood up as she let out the smirk before dialing a number immediately.
📞 “Hello” A voice came from the background.
📞 “Get the job done by Next week…..no traces” She muttered.
📞 “Sure thing”
Instantly, she cut off the call and walked away from the room.
AVA’S PLACE~9PM*
Ava came out of the bathroom claded in her nightwear, she jumped on the bed and picked up her phone to call her twins.
She dialed a number and it picked in the first ring.
📞 “Aunt Maggie!!” She called.
📞 “Hey Ava, how did the meeting go…..”.
Ava didn’t say a word making Maggie worried.
📞 “Ava!!!, Are you there”
📞 “Ava!!!!!!!”
Ava chuckled loudly. Melody.
📞 “Is this a joke right now!”
📞 “Sorry, Aunt Margaret” she said.
📞 “Fine, How was the meeting, were you part!?” She asked.
📞 “Yes, I’m part the last 10 out of 40, I can’t believe it aunt Maggie”
📞 “Wow…..” Maggie couldn’t complete her sentence when the kids voice came instantly.
📞 “Mummy” they chorused.
📞 “Oh my babies, Let switch to Video call” Ava said and Maggie mouthed an okay.
They switched into a video call and The twins face came into view.
“Mum!!!!!” They chuckled.
“Muah!, How are my cuties doing” She blew them a kiss from the screen. Maggie left the screen immediately.
“We’re fine mum!!!” Kayla said.
“Why are you two still up, it late already?” She asked.
“We just wanted to see you before we sleep” Kyle said making Ava laugh.
“Awnn…….go to bed already. It getting late” Ava said and the twins pouted their lips.
“Sing for ussss” they mouthed.
“Tell Aunt Maggie to sing for you” She said and they shook their head.
“No, you” Kayla pointed at her.
“No pointing Kayla!” Ava snapped and Kayla dropped her hand.
“Sorry mum, can you sing for us now” Kayla asked and Ava nodded and they squealed.
Ava sang for them till they fell asleep and she smiled staring at them from the screen.
She hung up the call and dropped her phone on the bedside table. Just as she was about to sleep, she remembered that she needs to check her mail.
She stood up and checked her table for her iPad but couldn’t find it, she checked her bags, wardrobe and even everywhere it could be but she couldn’t sight it.
She thought of where she kept it last and remembered that she took it to the company earlier.
“I must have forgotten it there, gosh. I’ll need to go back there tomorrow…….” She muttered and climbed the bed again.
NEXT DAY~DAWSON’S FASHION*
Ava walked into the company to get her iPad back not until she bumped into a body and phone fell, the screen cracking.
She quickly bent to the floor and the figure bent too picking her cracked phone. “I’m so Sorry Miss, I didn’t know you were coming” the voice came and she looked up to see a guy staring at her.
She collected her phone from him placing it in her bag “it fine” she muttered.
“Looks like you are new here, do you need help” He asked.
“Yes, I forgot my iPad here yesterday at the meeting” she replied.
“Oh, I think it with Alicia, follow me let me take you there” he muttered and she nodded as he led her away.
Ava stayed an inch away from him as she followed him into the elevator.
“I’m Marcus and you” he flashed her a smile.
“Ava” she replied and soon, the elevator opened as he led her to Alicia’s office.
“Here, see you later” he smiled at her and left.
Ava walked into the office.
“Hey, Miss Alicia” she called and Alicia looked up.
“What can I do for you ma’am” She asked.
“I somehow forgot my iPad yesterday at the meeting room, and I don’t think I can still find it there” She explained.
“Oh!, You are the one…” She exclaimed and Ava nodded slightly.
Alicia stood up immediately. “Follow me…” She muttered and Ava gave a nod before following her quietly.
Alicia took her to the CEO’S office and she furrowed her brows.
“The CEO!!”
“Yes, it with him……you should go in now. I already told him you’re here” She muttered and Ava mouthed an Okay before going in.
Shane looked up on seeing her and he rested his back on the chair.
“Good Morning sir” She greeted firmly.
“You are the one that owns the iPad right?” He asked and she nodded.
Her eyes caught something when their eyes met, his hazel eyes were identical to the one she saw the other day but she shrugged it off.
“Pacific Designs right?” He asked and she mouthed a ‘yes sir’ nodding.

He placed the iPad on the table and her eyes gleamed as she took it immediately.
“Thank you sir” she turned to go when his voice stopped her.

“I want to ask you a question” he said.

Shane paused for a while and rested his arms on the table before him.
“Are you married!!!” He asked and she shook immediately.

Unknowingly, she mistakenly hit the hot coffee on the table and it shook, It content pouring on Shane’s instantly.
