Episode 6 : Old Friend, New Rival
Adrien sat in his restaurant, the restaurant was small and he was managing it with his best friend Bobby.
Bobby just finish attending to a customers.
“Thanks for patronizing us pretty, we will be expecting you soon” Bobby said to a young lady who blushed when he called her pretty.
“Wow buddy, we made a lot of sales today and….” Bobby said to Adrien whose mind fixed was on a pink box which contained a pretty diamond ring.
“Hey who own that” Bobby asked.
“It belong to Sonia” Adrien replied with a smile.
“Hey man are you gonna purpose to her?” Bobby asked,Adrien chuckles.
“I already did but I didn’t get her a ring, I just bought this using some of my savings”.
“Oh that’s great Adrien, I’m really happy for the both of you” Bobby embraced him and then pulled away when he saw him looking sad.
“What is it buddy?” Bobby asked.
“It’s Sonia’s father, that man is a pain in the neck, can you imagine Sonia’s blind date her dad set up for her harassed her yesterday, thank God I was there to defend her” Adrien complained bitterly.
“It’s a good thing she had you by her stand” Bobby said.
“I love her so much and am willing to do anything for her” Adrien said and then a smile appeared on his red lips.
as he starred at the ring in his hand.
“I think I know what to do” he said, he stood up and took off the apron around his waist.
“Where are you going”.
“I’m going to Sonia’s office, I wanna surprise her with the ring” Adrien said cheerfully.
“Can you please lend me your bike” he asked.
“Sure buddy” Bobby said.
“Thanks man” Adrien said and walked out of the restaurant happily.
He had a smile on his face as he was driving but the smile later faded away when he saw some planks and tyres blocking his way.
“What’s going on here, who put this on the road?” He muttered to him self as he stopped the bike, and then he saw some hefty looking men coming out of their hiding place with planks in their hands.
“Hey get down from the bike” one of the men said to him rudely.
“Who are you?” Adrien asked curiously.
Before he knew what was happening the man pushed him then off the bike and he fell on the Floor and then the men began to hit him with their planks.
“Who the hell are you, let go of me,ahhhh!” Adrien yelled in pain as they continue hitting him all over his body.
They were way stronger than him so he could not defend himself, he felt so helpless, he was bleeding all over his body.
When they saw he was unconscious they ran out of the place leaving Adrien on the floor looking lifeless.
Sonia rushed into the hospital ward to see Adrien, she burst into tears the moment she she sighted him on the hospital bed looking so wounded.
“Adrien, who what happen to you? Who did this to you” she weep.
“Sonia I …..” He muttered and then hissed in pain.
“Who did this to you my love?” She kept on crying.
“Some …men they attacked.. Me I was going to your office… I wanted to surprise you with a ring, then…..I got attacked” he said slowly trying to up press the pains he was feeling, he showed her the ring while she smiled.
“Really” she said happily.
He wore her the ring and smiled weakly.
“Yes honey, I wanted to surprise you with this ring” he said.
“Do you like it” he asked.
“Yes I do,I love it” she kissed his gently on the lips. He sighed.
“I wonder who those men are and why they attacked me, at first I thought they were thieves” he said curiously.
Sonia was a bit quite for a while then a frown appeared on her cute face.
“I guess I know who did this to you” she muttered to herself.
“Huh!”
“And I know what to do,this has to stop” she said huskily then she stood up and left leaving Adrien looked puzzled.
“Sonia….. What is she planning to do?” He asked no one in particular.
Episode 7 : Secrets and Lies
“I’ll be traveling to London very early tomorrow morning” Lucas told Sarah as she served him tea.
“Why” she asked.
“Business of course”.
“You’ve been traveling too much lately” she complained, Lucas chuckles.
“It’s all because of business honey”.
“Can’t you skip this one,I’ll miss you” she pouted her lips.
“Sorry honey but I can’t skip this trip, it’s very important I attend……”he was cut off by Sonia who walked into the house looking so angry.
” Dad!”she called him standing in front of him looking as if she was going to devour him.
“What happen to Sonia? You look so angry” Sarah asked.
” dad I’ll like to as you a simple question “Sonia ignored her mother’s question.
” what is it?”he asked looking uninterested.
“Do you love me dad” Sonia asked slowly.
“What type of silly question is that?”
“Just answer the question dad” she said impatiently. Lucas smiled.
“Of course I do,I love you so much my dear, you know you’re daddy’s favourite” he said sincerely.
“Good” she muttered.
“Dad,why did you send those men to attack Adrien?” She asked,Lucas froze without saying anything.
“Answer me dad” she shouted.
“Don’t you dare yell at me” he shouted too, he hates it when someone yell at him.
“I don’t care dad,just answer the damn question, did you or did you not send some thugs to attack Adrien” she asked angrily.
“I don’t know what you are talking about” he muttered without looking at her. Sonia smiled wearily.
“I knew you wouldn’t admit it so easily” she said then the next thing they knew was that she ran into the kitchen and then came out with a knife pointing it to Lucas.
“Sonia what are you trying to do with a knife?” Sarah asked looking so frightened.
“Tell me the truth dad, I knew you were the one behind Adrien’s attack,isn’t it?” Sonia asked angrily.
“Put down the knife” Lucas said slowly, almost all the staffs were present watching the scene, but nobody could GI close to Sonia, she looked so angry.
“What is she talking about Lucas?” Sarah asked confusedly.
“He knows what I’m talking about” Sonia said.
Alex ran down the stairs immediately he heard some noise,he was shocked to see Sonia pointing a knife at their father.
“What’s going on here”, Alex asked wanting to go close to Sonia.
” don’t you dear come close to me”Sonia growled as she point the knife at him while he stepped backward.
“Dad if you don’t tell me the Truth right now,I’m going to commit suicide” Sonia said as she point the knife to her neck.
“Are you crazy Sonia? Why would you want to commit suicide” Luca said in fright.
“Sonia please put down the knife, you’re scaring me” Sarah began to cry”Lucas please do something, don’t let her hurt herself “she pleaded, Lucas was already sweating.
” Sonia please drop the knife let’s talk….. “.
“There is nothing to talk about dad,just tell me the truth I need to hear”, Sonia insisted.
” alright fine,yes I was the behind it, I sent some men to beat him up to death but I guess he survived it”Lucas said.
“Why would you do that dad? What wrong did Adrien ever dine to you? Why would you wish him dead when you know I love him” she burst into tears
“Because he is poor and a gold digger, he is only after my money” Lucas replied.
“No he is not, Adrien has never for once asked for a penny, even if he does I still love him,he is my happiness, you claim you love me but you hate my happiness, please allow me be happy for once” Sonia weep seriously, Lucas became sober.
“Sonia look I……”
“If you don’t allow Adrien and I get marry I’ll slit my throat and then my ghost will hunt you forever” Sonia said looking so determine.
“No! Please Sonia don’t hurt yourself, I accept, please I accept” Lucas said quickly.
Sonia starred at him for a while.
“Really, you mean you truly accept Adrien and I relationship” she asked just to be sure he was not joking.
“Yes I accept, please put down the knife” Lucas said sadly.
“Sis, please don’t do anything silly with that knife” Alex begged.
Sonia smiled as she dropped the knife on the floor then ran up to Luca for an embrace.
“Thank you dad, you’re the best” she said happily.
Lucas sighed in relief while he stroke her hair.
“Oh Sonia, you scare me, I don’t know why her love you this much my daughter, I love you so much that I can’t bear to see you hurt” he whispers then Hus mind drifted to the promise he just made.
“Oh this is gonna be so hard” he said inwardly.
Episode 8 : Suspicion Grows
(At St Mary Catholic Church)
The crowd stood and watch Sonia in her beautiful wedding dress as she walked down the aisle hand in hand with her father,Lucas Davis.
She watched some of her friends and colleges flashing her a smile, some even blow her a kiss causing her to giggle like a child, today was her happiest day of her life,a day she had always dreamt of, a day she will be the wife of Adrien, her Adrien.
She looked straight to the altar when she behold the love of her life, he was dressed in a White suite and his black hair was neatly styled while, his brown eyes were fixed on her,she could see that he was waiting patiently for her.
Lucas slowly took the hand of his beloved daughter and hand it over to Adrien and then held the both of them hands firmly in his,he starred at Adrien hardly.
“Listen and listen to me very good Adrien martins,I’ll be officially handling my only daughter to you,you know how much she means to me,if I happen to find out she cried because of you I swear to you just have it in the back of your mind that I won’t make life easy” he said boldly
“Dad….” Sonia whispers.
“How me speak Sonia, you don’t know what it takes to let go of your only daughter on her wedding day to another man” Lucas said huskily.
“I promise to take care of your daughter sir,I swear on my life to make her happy” Adrien said with a smile while he looked at Sonia passionately,Lucas sighed then he kissed hair and smiled at them.
“I bless you both,be happy” he said the left.
“You look hot honey” Adrien complimented her as soon as they faced the priest, Sonia blushed.
“You look hotter” she whispers.
“Get ready for me tonight” he whispers back.
“What are you planning to do?” She muttered, Adrien chuckles.
“You’ll find out soon”.
“Naughty you” she glared at him.
The wedding ended with an applaud from the crowd when the couples kissed.
The guest got settled at the reception, music fill the place, family and friends congratulated the newly wedded couples.
Sonia and Adrien held hand and did not want to let go of each other.
“Sonia” Lucas called as he walked closer to them,Sonia smiled as she embraced her father happily.
“Dad,thank you so much for allowing today to come to pass,I’m so happy” she said sincerely, Lucas smiled as he saw the smile on his daughter’s face,he could see that his daughter love this Adrien a lot and no matter what he try to do to break them apart always seem to fail,recently she almost took her life because of this same Adrien,he would not be so foolish to see his daughter dead because of his pride,so he just had to let them be.
Although it gonna be so difficult.
“Honey I have a gift for you and your husband” Lucas said.
“A gift? What’s that daddy?” She asked curiously as she hold Adrien hand.
Lucas brought out a bunch of keys.
“I bought you a house” he gave it to her,Sonia screamed happily as she embraced her father happily.
“No sir,you don’t have to do this we’ll…..” Adrien tried to decline.
“No no,don’t even try to decline, where will you put my cute grandchildren uhh,just take this as a gift and also a way of me trying to get along with you Adrien, you know it’s not easy” Lucas said dramatically which made them to laugh.
“Alright, thank you Mr Lucas”.
“Call me father son” Lucas said.
Adrien paused in surprise looking at Sonia who gave him a nod.
“Thank you father” he said with teary eyes,Lucas smiled.
“Welcome to the Davis family” Lucas smiled as he tapped him on the shoulder and left.
Sonia hugged Adrien as they were both happy for the new house they were gifted.
“I hope I can move into the new house brother in law?” They heard Alex from behind.
“Yes,you’re most welcome” Adrien replied.
“No well, I don’t wanna see close to my matrimonial home Alex” Sonia glared at him.
“Let’s see how you are gonna kick this handsome looking uncle away from my niece and nephew when they arrive”.
Alex boasted then ran away when Sonia wanted to attack him as usual.
Episode 9 : A Moment of Weakness
(Four years later)
“Jayden honey,hurry up your school bus will be here soon” Sonia yelled her son’s name as she was busy dishing out breakfast.
“Yey!!!!!” She turned to look at Jayden who was on top of Adrien’s shoulder, he was laughing as Adrien was acting like an airplane. Sonia could not help but smile at their closeness,over the year after their marriage things have been going fine.
Adrien’s once small restaurant is now a large one where he now own lot of employees, he was making his own money and he now own lots of houses.
What even surprise her was her father,after their marriage Lucas and Adrien are now trying to get along,they were not pretty close to each other but it was more better than before.
“What are you boys doing?” Sonia asked while places both hands on her curved hips.
“I’m taking a flight to school mummy” Jayden replied cheerfully, Adrien laughed as he dropped him off his shoulders.
“I see,but this your plane is pretty slow,you are surely gonna be if you take this one okey,so get seated and let’s have breakfast” she said to him,he smiled he had similar smile like Adrien’s and had eye’s like Sonia’s.
She convinced him three months after their wedding.
Adrien pecked Sonia on the lips before settling down to eat.
Grandma and Lisa her personal nurse Adrien hired for her joined them at the table.
Grandma was still acting the same,her symptoms was still the same that was the reason why he decided to hire a nurse to keep an eye on her health.
“Honey I’ll be back home late tonight” Adrien said.
“Why?” Sonia asked curiously.
“I’ll be having a business meeting with some client and the meet has been scheduled very late this evening”.
He explained. Sonia frowned.
“That’s so unfair, this client of yours does not have a family? I don’t like it when my hubby comes home so late” she lamented. Adrien smile
“I’m sorry honey there is nothing I can do, but I promise to buy you chocolate those tasty one you love ” he cooed while she smiled slowly, the moved closer to her ear and whispers.
“Don’t forget to put on something sexy for me,we not gonna sleep tonight” he said seductively, Sonia blushed hard.
“Ok” she whispers too.
“Daddy what are you whispering into mummy ear?” Jayden asked, the two looked at him in surprise.
“Hey little man,eat up your school bus will arrive soon” Adrien ignored his question,not quite long the school bus came and the Adrien carried Jayden in his arms and then took his briefcase too before giving Sonia a long kiss on the lips and a peck on grandma cheeks.
“Bye grandson and great grandson” grandma waved at them.
“Good bye grandma,take good care of yourself” Jayden said as his father took him away.
“Margret will take good care of me” she muttered senselessly.
Sonia stood and watch them leave,she wonder why she felt so unease about Adrien coming home so late.
Monica smiled as she drove out of the airport heading to Max’s house,she is just coming back to American after a long period of time, she had been away from her family and friends most especially the love of her life, Max.
Today is his birthday and she want to use her arrival as a surprise to him,she did not inform him that she would be back on his birthday.
Her driver open the car back seat for her, her black shining shoes hit the ground gracefully, she stood up and then straighten her pink dress and then swing her brown long hair to the side,she was a super model, she was beautiful, what do you expect from a super model.
“I’ll be back” she told the drive then went into the house.
She smiled as she went into the house but it was quite, he must be in his room
She mounted the stairs going close to his room when she began to hear moans.
She was curious to know what sound was that.
She pushed the door open and her blue eyes fell on max and a lady making out on his bed
“No!!!!!!” She screamed.
Episode 10 : Caught in the Act
“Monica please listen to me,I…I can explain” Max followed her from behind as they walked downstairs.
“I can’t believe what I just saw,tell me what I saw up there was not true Max” she looked at him in disbelief.
“I…I can explain I….”
He was cut off by a hot slap from Monica.
“Shut the hell up,what do you want to explain? What is there to explain max?I just saw you making out with a Lady in your room and you are telling me you wanna explain”she yelled while tears gushed out of her eyes.
” I’ve been away for only a few years and then I came back just to find my man making with a strange girl and you think it’s funny huh? I thought you love me but I must be foolish to believe you,you tricked me all this while,you never love me “she continued.
She placed her hands on her face as she cried bitterly.
” I’m so sorry honey “he touched her buy she landed him another slap.
“Don’t you dare touch me,it’s over between” she barked at him and then begin to walk out of the house.
“No no please honey don’t do this, I’m so sorry, Monica come back,Monica!!!” He called her but she already walked out of the house.
“Driver, take me out of here right now” Monica yelled at the driver then she rushed into the car while the driver drove them out of the place.
Monica cried seriously,she felt like killing herself instantly, how could Max so this to her after everything she had done for him,she loved him so much but he cheated on her.
This was not the first man she had dated that had cheated on her,she had date numerous men but non of them were faithful to her,they were all after her money and beauty, she was always foolishly blinded by their sweet words and she keeps falling for it over and over again.
“Stop the car!” She ordered the moment she sighted a bar,she stepped down from the car.
“Don’t wait for me I’ll take a cab when I’m done here” she told the driver.
“But ma’am I can’t leave you all alone here ,it’s late already and your father will get upset”the driver tried to make her reason with him.
” do you wanna get fired, do as I say and get lost”she yelled at him then left without saying a thing.
“Oh damn,Mr Richard is not gonna like this” he said referring to her father,he sighed before driving out of the place.
Monica hold her heels in her hands as she stared at the bar that was a cross the road,she was jus going to take some bottles and the forget her sorrows, that what was what she was going to do.
Without watching the road she began to cross the busy express road without watching an incoming car but Luckily she was drawn back by a muscular hand ,and then her face hit the persons chest.
She perceive the person strong Colon hit her nostrils then she slowly lifted her head and then she behold the most handsome face she had ever came across in her life.
She stared into the stranger’s brown eyes while he stared into her,his hand were tightly wrapped around her slender waist while her hand were resting on his muscular chest,their body were touching each other and it was beginning to create something in her so she pushed him away.
Why would she be having such feelings when she just got cheated by her boyfriend.
“Let go of me you stranger” she yelled.
“I’m sorry but you were not watching the road, you seems lost,are you okey?” The stranger said politely.
“It’s non of your business okey,it non of you men business because you men are all the same,you all are betrayals and I hate all of you” she shouted at him making him startled then she frown at him and then crossed the road before walking into the bar.
The stranger watched her as she leave.
“Strange girl” Adrien muttered to himself and the sighed as he looked at the bad he was holding,checking to see if the things in it were still intact, then he sighed.
“I need to leave before Sonia get so worry” he said before walking to his car and then drove off.
