CHAPTER 31 & 32 : A Dangerous Obsession
Amelia stared at the man then back at Jaden, thinking if she should let this man live or …… should he die.
Wait! Did she just think that, she immediately took to her heels running away as fast as she could.
Jaden felt confused, he took another look at the man on the floor before running after Amelia.
When he got to her, she was already in the car, he got into the driver’s seat and turned to her. She was crying.
“Little @ss, what’s wrong?” He asked.
No reply, she just turned away from him, facing the window.
“Say something” Jaden said, turning her head to make her face him.
“You’re bad and you’re making me bad as well, I was actually thinking of telling you to kill that guy” Amelia muttered, in between sobs.
Jaden just kept quiet, staring at her.
“I was never like this, you’re changing me and I don’t like it” She added, still crying.
Jaden faced front and turned on the car, he drove home without uttering a single word to her.
As soon as he parked the car properly, he walked into the house, Amelia also came down, wiping her tears as she walked into the house.
As she walked into her room, she quickly changed her clothes and sat down on her bed, she began regretting what she said to Jaden maybe she was a little bit too harsh.
She stood up and went to his room, she knocked trice but she didn’t get a reply, she knocked again and this time Jaden opened the door immediately, startling her.
“Am sorry, are you okay?” He asked.
“I’m fine” She replied as she walked into the room, he closed the door.
“Am sorry for what I said…. I just don’t like what I was thinking at that time, it’s unlike me” Amelia said.
“There’s no need to apologize, you’re right, I’m a bad person and I’m influencing you wrongly” He muttered and she shook her head.
“That’s not what I meant….. I was only trying to say that I can’t hurt people as freely as you do, I just don’t feel comfortable hurting people….”
“And I’m making you do what you’re not comfortable with, I’m making you hurt people, right?” Jaden asked.
“That’s not what I mean……”
“Then what exactly do you mean, cos I’m not getting you” He cut her off, harshly.
“I only meant….. That…. I ” She paused.
“We can have this conversation some other time, I’m tired” He muttered and she looked at him with glassy eyes.
“I’m not trying to be harsh, I’m just really tired, it was a long day, I hope you understand?” He asked and she nodded, she slowly turned around and left, closing the door behind her.
As she got to her room, tears flowed down her cheeks, she quickly wiped them off with the back of her hand then she sat on the bed.
Maybe she shouldn’t have said what she said, it’s true she’s changing and she didn’t like it one bit but she took Jaden’s intensions the wrong way.
He wasn’t trying to make her bad, he only wanted her to be strong and to stand up for herself when necessary.
What’s she going to do now, she hated it when he’s mad at her.
Jaden laid flat on his bed, his eyes directly on the ceiling with his two hands supporting his head.
He couldn’t stop thinking about what Amelia said, is he really that bad?
Maybe he took it too far by shooting that guy and asking Amelia to decide if he lives.
He sighed as he stood up, then he brought out his phone, and dialed sam’s number.
He just wants to get this over with, finally destroy Ben so he can have peace of mind then he can concentrate on becoming a better person.
He wants to change for Amelia.
The door bell suddenly rang multiple times, it was so aggressive that it woke Amelia up, it couldn’t be mom or professor Jordan, they know the password so why would they ring the bell.
She got down from the bed and opened the door.
“Can I help you?” Amelia asked, looking at the strange man in front of her.
“Amelia” He muttered with a smirk.
“How do you know my name?” Amelia asked, bewildered.
“I’m your father so how won’t I know my daughter’s name?” Daniel chuckled.
“Father?” Amelia asked, as if she wanted to know if she heard clearly.
“I’m sure Vera had never mentioned anything about me to you” He said.
“If you’re here to see my mom then she’s not at home, you can come back later” Amelia said, she doesn’t want to believe this man tho he has an undeniable resemblance with her but she doesn’t want to jump into conclusions…… She needs to talk to her mother first.
As Amelia tried to close the door, he pushed it wide open and she fell down as an impact.
Seeing the angry look on his face, she sensed danger, she ran up the stairs, calling Jaden’s name but before she could successfully climb the stairs Daniel picked up a vase and threw it directly on her head,
The vase shattered on her head and she rolled down the stairs, obtaining several cuts, especially on her head.
Daniel walked over to her as she crawled back, crying.
“Jaden!!!….” She yelled as Daniel approached her.
“Jaden!” She yelled again and gasped as Daniel grabbed her hair, pulling her away with it.
She cried, trying to free herself but this wicked man wasn’t letting go, where is Jaden right now?
“I told Vera that I would kill you, I guess she took it as a joke, huh?” Daniel chuckled, still dragged her outside.
Before they could fully leave the house Amelia gripped the door tightly, calling out to Jaden even louder.
Meanwhile Jaden was having a peaceful nap, he couldn’t hear anything that was happening outside because his room is soundproof, it’s the only room in the house that is soundproof.
His eyes suddenly opened, he had that nightmare again, where he was sleeping in the same room with mad people.
His body vibrated slightly as fear creeped him, he was sweating profusely so he decided to go outside for some fresh air, immediately he opened the door, Amelia’s loud cried rented the air.
He dashed out of the room, running downstairs, his heart skipped a beat as he saw blood on the stairs, who’s blood is it?
He ran towards the living room where Daniel was still struggling to pull Amelia out of the house.
Jaden charged at him, giving him two upper punches, Daniel instantly fell on the floor, Jaden rushed into the house and returned with a strong rope, he tied Daniel’s hands and legs together, that’s the best thing he could think of right now, normally he would shoot Daniel straight up but he has promised himself not to hold a gun again.
After making sure the rope was tight then he ran to Amelia.
He carried her to her room and gently placed her on the bed, he took a first aid kit and treated her wounds.
When he was done, he returned the first aid kit and sat next to her.
“Are you okay?” He asked, touching her forehead, before he could drop his hand she caught it.
“I should be asking that, you’re shaking and your temperature is too high” She said, worriedly.
That’s because he’s resisting the urge to go back there and shoot that man fifty times right in the heart.
“I’m fine, who’s that man?” Jaden asked.
“He said he’s my dad but I don’t believe him, he made me fall down the stairs and he tried to take me away……” Amelia said.
“Take some rest, I’ll be back” He muttered, stood up and left the room.
On getting there, Daniel was gone, Jaden rushed outside but he wasn’t insight.
He sighed and went back into the house, Amelia was coming down the stairs.
“You’re supposed to be resting” He groaned, took her hand and led her back to the room.
“Am sorry” She said.
“Sorry for what?” He asked, making her lay on the bed.
“You’re taking what I said the wrong way…..” She said.
“I understand what you meant, in normal sense you’re right, I lost my humanity so killing comes easy to me, that doesn’t mean I have the right to change you…… Thinking about it, I prefer my sweet innocent Amelia” He said, softly and she smiled.
“Really?” She asked.
“Yeah, I love how you didn’t understand something and it would be better if we keep it that way, you’ll learn when you’re older, right now you should be concentrating on your studies….. You’re too little” Jaden said and she frowned.
“I’m not little, am already a big girl” She said.
“Grow up all you want but to me you’re still little” He said and she giggled.
“Back there,in the beach, you said I was you’re girlfriend, did…….”
“I was just joking” He cut her off, why does it suddenly feel like she’s getting pricked by a million needles right now?
“You were joking?” She asked, lowly.
“Yes, don’t think too much, get some rest” Jaden said and over her body with the sheets, then he left.
Amelia turned to a side, staring into thin air, for a minute she she actually thought that Jaden was serious when he called her his girlfriend.
Maybe he doesn’t feel anything for her.
Evelyn was laying on her bed, with her phone in her hand, once in a while she would laugh out, making Ashlyn wonder who she was chatting with.
When she tried to pip into the phone, Evelyn would turn it off, this time she pulled the phone from Evelyn’s hand and ran away.
“Lyn, give me my phone!” Evelyn yelled, running after her.
Ashlyn ran to the into the bathroom and locked the door.
“Lyn! Give me my phone!!!” Evelyn yelled, banging on the door.
“So, Jerry asked you to be his date…. That’s nice” Ashlyn said, as she scrolled through their chats.
“Girls what’s going on” Their mom asked.
“Mom, Ashlyn took my phone” Evelyn whined.
“Ash, opened the door” Their mom said and Ashlyn immediately opened it.
“You can have your phone back” Ashlyn gave her the phone and quickly ran away, giggling.
Evelyn took a look at the chats and noticed Ashlyn had sent Jerry countless heart emojis.
“Lyn!!!!” Evelyn yelled, running toward the direction she took.
Jaden was sitting in the kitchen stool with a glass of wine in hie hand, when he suddenly heard Amelia’s screams.
He dropped the glass and ran to her room, she was jumping around the bed, yelling like a small kid.
Immediately she noticed he came in, she jumped on him and he caught her, then she wrapped her legs around his waist.
“What happened?” He asked, worriedly.
“Spider… There’s a huge spider on my bed!” She said, breathing unstable.
“A spider?” He laughed.
“What’s funny to you, it was so big, am sure it’s poisonous, It could have killed me and you’re laughing” She said, angrily.
“I thought you were super strong now, you’re afraid of a little spider?” He chuckled.
“Have you seen the size of that thing?” She muttered senselessly, hitting his head.
“Okay, let me check it out” He said and tried to drop her but she refused.
“Don’t you want to come down?” He asked.
“Drop me on the chair, what if it’s on the floor” She whispered and he smiled, then he dropped her on the chair next to her reading table.
He checked around the bed and found the spider, it was a medium sized brown recluse spider, it wasn’t poisonous but It’s bite could cause severe itching.
He held the spider up and turned towards her direction, her heart beat accelerated as he came closer to her with the spider.
“Please throw it away…..” She said, moving back a little that she almost fell from the chair.
“Jaden!!!” She yelled and closed her eyes, as he motioned to throw the spider at her. She hates spider a lot!
She didn’t feel anything on her body, so she opened her eyes and saw Jaden throwing the spider through the window.
Immediately the spider was out, she climbed down from the chair, walked up to him and began hitting his chest angrily.
“Why did you do that? You scared me!” She said hitting his chest harder but he was laughing, her hands were so soft and small he could barely feel it. This laughter made her more angry, she began hitting him with all her strength till she was tired.
“Are you done?” He chuckled.
“Yes….. Now carry me, I’m hungry” She pouted, raising her hands up.
But instead he held her waist and threw her on his shoulder.
“Carry me properly chipmunk!!” She yelled, throwing her hands and legs in the air.
“Stay still, do you want to fall?” He asked and she stopped moving.
“I wonder why mom isn’t back yet, it’s getting late already” Amelia mumbled, as Jaden took her down the stairs.
“When she comes back, you’ll have to talk to her about that man, he said he was your father right?” Jaden asked.
“That’s what he said” Amelia confirmed.
When he got downstairs, he dropped her on the kitchen stool and looked around for food.
“Should we order something?” He asked.
“I’ll cook” She said, standing up.
“But you’re injured” Jaden said.
“How does that stop me from cooking?” She asked and he gave up.
Dylan was sitting in the living room, playing a digital game connected to the television when Kelvin walked in, this would be the first time he’s coming home after what happened at school with Cherry.
“Welcome back, you’re done hiding right?” Dylan asked, mockingly.
“Shut up brat, I wasn’t hiding, I had some important work” Kelvin said.
“I believe you” Dylan said, sarcastically.
“You know if Jaden finds you, you’re dead meat” Dylan said and Kelvin shot him a glare.
“He can’t do anything to me….” Kelvin said.
“I would advice you not to go to school, on monday, you better change school” Dylan laughed.
“I’ll face him, I want to see what that bastard can do…” Kelvin said.
“I’ll start preparing your coffin, would you like a brown one or black?” Dylan asked.
“Fuck you” Kelvin sneered, going into his room.
Dylan dropped the game controller, he brought out his phone and texted Evelyn but she didn’t reply, even the countless ones he had sent, were left on read.
“Must I teach you everything, you can’t add so much salt….” She said, and he frowned.
“I swear I hate cooking, it’s so difficult” He sighed.
“It’s not difficult, you’re just lazy” She said.
“Yeah, and you think you’re hard working?” He rolled his eyes.
“Yes, I’m the most hard working person I know” She grinned.
“Witch…..” He scoffed, leaving the kitchen.
“What did you just call me?!” She yelled, going after him.
“I said you’re a witch, a cute witch” He chuckled and she jumped on his back.
“Am not getting down until you apologize…..” She said, wrapping her hand around his neck.
“You can stay like that if you want, a feather weights more than you” He chuckled.
“You’re mean” She hit his head slightly.
“Do you have plans tomorrow?” He asked.
“I want to go to church” She replied.
“Church? Why?” He asked.
“It’s been a while since I attended any sermon, will you go with me?” She asked, he thought for a while before replying.
“Will that make you happy?” He asked.
“Yes” She nodded with a pretty smile.
“Okay fine” He said, just then the door bell rang, he gently dropped Amelia on the couch and opened the door.
“Good evening ma” Jaden greeted and Vera responded with a warm smile, but it dropped immediately she saw Amelia’s bruised body.
She rushed to her,
“Amy, what happened to you?” Vera asked.
“A man came and he tried to take me away” She said.
“Man? Which man?” Vera asked, suspiciously.
“He said he was my dad, is it true?” Amelia asked, curiously.
Vera heart sank, Daniel really came?
“Amy pack your bags, we have to leave now….” Vera said, dragging Amelia up from the couch.
“Leave why?” Amelia asked.
“Just listen to me, it’s for your own good, pack your bags….” Vera said.
“I don’t want to go anywhere” Amelia shook her head.
“Amelia listen to me this time, he might come back, we have to leave now!….” Vera yelled in tears.
“But…..I…” Before Amelia could finish, Vera grabbed her hand, pulling her to her room.
“Mom, I don’t understand what is happening” Amelia said.
“I promise, I’ll explain everything later but first we need to leave, I’ll go pack my bags, you pack yours I’ll be back” Vera said and left the room.
Amelia sighed out and sat on the bed, as the door opened she looked up and saw Jaden, closing the door behind him.
She stood up and hugged him.
“I don’t want to go….” Amelia cried.
“I think you should listen to her first” Jaden said and she broke the hug to look at him.
“You want me to leave?” Amelia asked.
“She’s trying to protect you, listen to her first, even if you go far away I’ll come find you …” He said, kissing her hair.
“But I still don’t want to leave….” She pouted.
“I’ll help you pack …” He took her hand and led her to the wardrobe, when they were done packing, Jaden carried her bags downstairs.
“I’ll miss you” Amelia pouted.
“Me too, but I’ll still come for you” He said, hugging her.
Vera soon walked down the stairs with her own bag but as they were about to cross the door, Daniel walked in with lots of men behind him.
Vera’s bag fell from her hand and she took steps back.
“Hey, daughter….” Daniel smiled, evilly as he took steps toward Amelia.
“Amy run…” Vera said and Amelia took steps back, she immediately turned and ran towards Jaden.
“I’m scared” Amelia whispered to him, he wrapped his arms around her, enveloping her into a warm hug.
“Go get her!” Daniel yelled at his men and they charged towards Jaden and Amelia.
“One free ticket to hell for anyone who dares to touch even a strand of her hair” Jaden muttered, meaningfully aiming his gun at Daniel and his men stopped.
Daniel chuckled, and brought out his gun, then he aimed it at Jaden.
CHAPTER 33 & 34 : The Power Play
“You’re trying to play with fire, child” Daniel chuckled darkly, bringing down his gun.
Jaden still had his gun pointed towards Daniel, while holding Amelia tightly to himself with the other hand.
“Little child, I don’t have a problem with you, so hand her over before I lose my cool….” Daniel said, looking pissed.
“What make you think I’ll do that?” Jaden asked.
“You’re outnumbered, just look around you, this won’t end well for you…..” Daniel said, laughing like a deranged person.
Jaden looked around, non of Daniel’s men were holding gun, some were holding axes and other knives.
A slight smirk creeped Jaden’s lips as all the members of black axe gang walked in with their guns including Ashlyn and Evelyn, surrounding Daniel and his men.
“You brought a group of children to fight me” Daniel chuckled, trying to get a grip but he was actually shaking inside.
“It’s best if you leave now, I wouldn’t want to kill you because you’re her father……” Jaden said.
“Are you guys stupid, go get her!!!” Daniel yelled at his men, they hesitated at first but they eventually charged towards Jaden.
“Close your ears” Jaden whispered to Amelia and she did just that, pressing her hands tightly against her ears.
She could still hear faint gunshots, wondering what was going on, she opened her eyes and tried to turn but Jaden caged her face to his chest.
Soon he let her go and she opened her eyes, and turned, she gasped as she saw several dead bodies on the floor. Did he kill all of them?
She turned and faced Jaden, who still had an expressionless look, she felt something touching her leg and when she looked down, saw a man barely alife, he was crawling towards her and he touched her leg, attempting to pull her.
Amelia flinched and shifted back a little, Jaden brought out his gun and shot the man on the skull, his blood splashed everywhere, including Amelia’s face.
Amelia looked at Jaden, squeezing her face and soon she burst out in tears, Jaden pulled her closer, hugging her as she wet his shirt with tears.
Vera stood still at a spot, everything that just happened was like an action movie, maybe she’s dreaming?
She pinched herself, trying to wake up but she still found herself there, she looked around and gulped staring at the lifeless bodies surrounding her.
Then at Daniel who was kneeling down at a corner, with his head lowered, he wasn’t dead but he had blood all over him.
“Amelia…” She called softly, turning, she ran over to Jaden and pulled Amelia away from him.
As she looked at Jaden she held an emotion which Jaden was familiar with….. Fear.
What would you expect, she just saw him killing so many men.
“Amy are you okay?” Vera asked, cupping her cheeks.
“Am.. am… fine” Amelia sniffled, with a cracked voice.
“Let’s go and get the blood cleaned from your face….” Vera said, taking Amelia upstairs.
Amelia turned and looked at Jaden, his eyes were also on her till she was out of sight.
“Boss, should we kill him?” Reed asked.
“No, just drop him at a police station but don’t let them see you” Jaden ordered and Reed nodded.
“Dispose the bodies, clean up and leave” Jaden said then he went into the room.
As soon as he walked in, he threw the gun to the floor, he promised himself he wouldn’t touch a gun again but he just killed close to twenty men.
Maybe he shouldn’t have done that in front of Vera and Amelia, all he wants to do is go to Amelia.
She had looked so afraid and terrified.
He stood up, making his way to Amelia’s room but as he was about to walk in Vera came out, closing the door behind her.
“Thank you for helping us but I would appreciate it if you stay away from my daughter…. I don’t want her to associate with people like you…. Please….” Vera said and immediately Jaden turned around and like that, he left without a word.
As Evelyn and Ashlyn got back home, Ashlyn lazily slumped on the chair.
“I can’t stop worrying about Amelia” Evelyn sighed.
“Me too, thank God boss called us before that fool came, what kind of a father wants to kill his own daughter?” Ashlyn muttered.
“I’m tired, I’m going to my room” Evelyn said and left.
She got to her room, her eyes widened as she saw Jerry sitting on her bed.
She quickly locked the door and walked up to him.
Her palms were already sweaty and she felt butterflies dancing in her stomach.
“Uhm… Jerry” She called, softly, earning his attention.
“I was waiting for you” He replied, standing up.
“How did you get in?”She asked.
“Through the window” He replied and she nodded.
“And why are you here?” She asked, her cheeks turning red slightly from his intense gaze.
“I was missing you, a lot” He said, and she bit her lips slightly.
“You don’t look too go, are you sick?” She asked, touching his forehead.
“Something like that” He replied.
“You should visit a doctor…….” She said, trying to pull him out of the room, but he pulled her to himself, wrapping his hands around her waist.
“We should get you to a hospital….” She said, lowly, looking around the room to avoid his eyes.
“I don’t need a hospital when you’re right here” He said, leaning closer to her face.
“What can I do?” She asked, this time she was looking directly at him.
“You could give me a kiss, to make me feel better”.
As soon as she heard the word ‘kiss’ her heart stopped beating for about five seconds, she felt a lump in her throat and she couldn’t utter a word.
Jerry took her by surprise as he connected their lips in the softest way possible, he devoured her lips bit by bit, letting his hand caress her butt slowly.
Evelyn’s eyes basically popped out of it’s sockets but she soon found herself shifting closer to him, wanting more of his sweet touches.
She wrapped her hand around his neck, kissing him back with the same rhythm.
“Lyn, mom’s calling you!!” Ashlyn yelled, banging the door from outside.
Evelyn quickly pulled away, her cheeks flushed.
Jerry on the other hand had a smirk on his face as he licked his lips.
“You taste amazing” He whispered.
He pecked her lips briefly before leaving through the window he came.
Evelyn blinked twice, did Jerry just kiss her?
Her lips slowly spread into a really big smile as she thought about the kissed they just shared, she touched her lips still not believing that Jerry kissed her!
“Lyn, are you dead or something?” Ashlyn asked, from outside and Evelyn’s smile vanished instantly as she opened the door.
“What?” Evelyn asked.
“Mom’s calling you” Ashlyn said, walking away while Evelyn followed.
Jaden walked out of the bathroom, he paused as he saw Amelia sitting on his bed, waiting for him.
Jaden gave her a long stare before walking over to her.
“You shouldn’t be here” Jaden muttered.
“I couldn’t sleep, I’m scared” She pouted, making him chuckle, he sat next to her on the bed and gently pulled her to himself.
“I’m sorry that you had to see that….” He mumbled.
“It’s not a problem, it’s not my first time of seeing dead bodies” She said and he looked at her.
“You’ve seen dead bodies before?” He asked and she nodded.
“When I was little I tried to start a poultry farm, my grandma’s chicken gave birth and I wanted to rear the cute babies but it died after two days” She said, sadly and he laughed.
“It’s not funny, I cried on their funeral” She mumbled and his laugher multiplied.
“You had a funeral for baby chickens?” He asked and she nodded.
“It was very touching, I cried so much that I fell sick the next day, mom took me to the hospital and I got an injection on my butt…..” She mumbled and he bursted into another round of laughter.
“It’s not funny, the injection was really painful, I couldn’t seat down for some hours” She pouted and he pecked her lips with a smile.
“You’re cute” He mumbled, gaining a bashful smile from her.
“Your mom asked me to stay away from you….” He stated.
“Why?” Amelia asked.
“She said she doesn’t want people like me around you, I guess she thinks am bad, just like you do…..” He uttered.
“I don’t think you’re bad, you’re the best person I know” She said, hugging him tightly.
“Really?”
“Yeah, apart from myself, my mom, Evelyn and Ashlyn” She said and he chuckled.
“Did your mom tell you anything about your dad? And why he hated you?” Jaden inquired.
“No, she said, she’ll tell me soon” Amelia replied.
“What did you do to him? Did you kill him?” Amelia asked.
“No, I can’t kill my baby’s dad no matter how bad he is, I just sent him to the police station” Jaden said and Amelia nodded.
“It’s late already, you should get some rest” Jaden said and Amelia nodded.
She climbed his bed and layed on it, then she wrapped herself with the duvet.
“I meant you should stay in your room, your mom might come here…” Jaden sighed.
“Why would she come here?” Amelia asked.
“I don’t know but she’ll definitely get mad if she sees you here… I think you should stay in your room, for now” Jaden said but Amelia shook her head stubbornly.
“You’ll have to drag me off this bed, coz I’m not getting up” She said, spreading her hands and legs on the bed.
“Gosh, you’re so stubborn” He shook his head in amusement.
“I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that” She said, closing her eyes.
“Move over” Jaden pushed her to a side of the bed, her eyes flew open as she almost fell off the bed.
“What if I had fallen? Why did you push me, chipmunk?” She asked, sitting up.
“Because you’re skinny and yet you want to occupy all the space” He chuckled and she frowned.
“Am not too skinny”She pouted.
“I know, you’ve got a really huge @ss” He muttered, teasingly and she angrily hit a pillow on his head.
He grabbed her hand and threw the pillow away, then he pulled her to himself, she landed on top of him.
“I love your eyes” He commented, staring at her, she couldn’t hide the wave of heat suddenly crawling up her face.
She buried her face in his chest, shyly.
He wrapped his hands around her, hugging her tightly till she slept off.
He’ll never be good enough for her, she’s just too perfect.
~NEXT MORNING~
As Amelia’s eyelashes parted, she frowned as she saw herself in her room, did Jaden bring her here?
She had somehow hoped to wake up right beside him but all’s well.
She gently threw the duvet off her body, after her bath she came down the stairs to find her mom talking to Jaden.
And from the look on Jaden’s face, she could tell he didn’t like whatever they were discussing.
As she walked over to them, they abruptly stopped talking, Vera faked a smile.
“Morning mom” Amelia said, and Vera nodded.
“Come have your breakfast” Vera said.
“Don’t worry I have an early morning lecture, I don’t want to be late” Amelia said.
“Okay, I’ll drop you at school” Vera said.
“I’m going with Jaden….” Amelia said.
“It’s better if I drop you” Vera said.
“Just let her go with me, I promise she’ll be safe” Jaden assured and Vera reluctantly let Amelia go.
“What were you and mom talking about?” Amelia asked as walked towards the car.
“Nothing” He replied.
“Why are you lying to me? I don’t like it when you keep things from me…” She mumbled.
“You did it once didn’t you?” Jaden said and she frowned.
“I thought you said you were not mad, why are you suddenly bringing it up?” She asked.
“Forget I said that…” He mumbled, they were already in the car, so he drove off.
“I won’t, the only reason I didn’t tell you was because I didn’t want you to do anything wrong, I knew if you found out Kelvin kissed me you would surely get mad and do something…… You said you were not angry and you’re bringing it up to attack me” She sniffled, wiping her tears.
Jaden stopped the car and looked at her.
“Stop crying, I’m sorry” He apologized, trying to wipe her tears but she slapped his hand away.

“Stop being a crybaby” He sighed.
“I hate it when it you’re being rude” She sniffled again.

“Never correct a lady when she’s crying!” Amelia cut him off and he nodded with a light smile.
“Okay, I’m sorry baby” He muttered but she remained unmoved with her puffy slightly red eyes.
He gently brought his hand to her face, caressing it as he leaned nearer to her,
“You’re beautiful” He mouthed, and she looked away, biting her lips to suppress the blush attempting to burst out.
“C’mon baby blush for me…” He smirked and like he commanded, her face turned red, she cover her face with her hands to avoid him seeing her flushed face but she could still feel his eyes on her.
“Drive, we’re gonna be late” She mumbled, with her face still buried in her palms.
She heard him chuckled and start the car, then she looked up to find his eyes on her.

Ashlyn was randomly walking through the halls when she saw Xavier talking to a girl, from the looks of things he was definitely flirting.

“Hands off my man” An angry voice came from behind and they turned to see Ashlyn glaring at the girl.
“Who are you?” She asked, eying Ashlyn.
“I’m his girlfriend, so fúck off bitch” Ashlyn glared.
“I dare you to call me that again” The girl sneered.
“You’re a bitch” Ashlyn repeated and the girl threw a weak punch, Ashlyn grabbed her neck and slammed her face on the wall.
“Let me go!..” The girl, yelled trying to push Ashlyn away but Ashlyn held her neck tighter repeatedly slamming her face on the wall.
The girls blood splashed everywhere most especially the floor and the wall.
After a while Ashlyn finally let go of the girl and she fell down bleeding.
Ashlyn took a look at Xavier before walking away and he quickly went after her.
“Tigress, why did you do that?” Xavier asked.
“You’re supposed to be grateful, I saved you from that witch” Ashlyn snapped.
“Saved me? Did I say I needed to be saved?” He chuckled.

She gently touched her cheek and faced his direction, he was staring at her and he winked at her, with flushed cheeked she scurried away.
Evelyn was also on her way to class when she saw Jerry coming towards her, she suddenly remembered how they kissed, She wasn’t ready to face him so she ran into a restroom next to her.
As she walked in, she saw Dylan leaning on the wall, smoking.
“You smoke?” She asked a little shocked.
“Yeah, only when the girl I like starts to snub all my texts and starts ignoring me” Dylan said.
She suddenly felt a lump in her throat, as she didn’t know how to reply.
“I’m… Sorry, I have to go to my class” She mumbled, about to leave but Dylan held her hand.
He slammed her back on the wall and caged her there.
“What are you doing? Let me go!” She said, trying to push him off but he pinned her hands on the wall above her head.
“Let me go!” She yelled, wriggling her hands.
Dylan suddenly leaned in to kiss her, she kept on moving her head, trying to avoid his kiss.
“Are you mad? Let me go!” She yelled loudly and he instantly let go of her. He stood still staring at her when Jerry came in.
He looked at both of them, Dylan glared at him and walked away.

~After school~
“I didn’t know you eat a lot” Jaden chuckled as he walked out of the cafeteria with Amelia.
“I still feel a little hungry, can we get ice cream on our way home?” She asked and he nodded.
“Let’s go” Jaden took her hand and began leading her out of the school.
“Evelyn and Ashlyn, invited me for a sleepover” Amelia said.
“You’re not going” He replied, bluntly as he opened the door for Amelia, she got in with a frown.
“Why?” She asked, as soon as he sat next to her.
“You want to go so they can take you to a club again?” He raised a brow.
“It’s a sleepover dummy, we’re not gonna leave the house” She sighed.
“You’re still not going” He said, without looking at her, his eyes were focused on the road as he drove.

“I don’t want anything to happen to you so it’s best if you stay with me at all times” He said, softly and she a grin spread widely across her lips.

He stopped the car in front of an ice cream shop, he got out and she followed.

“Shortie, did you use an umbrella while God was sharing height?” Jaden teased, and she hit his chest.
“Let go” He took her hand and led her inside the store.
After they finished ordering for ice cream, they both both sat on a chair.
“I still want to go for the sleepover” Amelia muttered as she took occasionally spoons from the ice cream.
“Why can’t you understand?” Jaden sighed.
“I promise we won’t go out and if anything happens, I’ll call you immediately” She said and Jaden gave her a long stare.

“Be quick so we can leave” He said and she nodded as she continued eating her ice cream.
“Look at that blondie over there….” Jaden could hear a guy whisper from behind.
He turned and saw two guys staring at Amelia.
“Do you want your eyes plucked out?” Jaden asked in a low pitched voice.
“Chill man, I’m only saying your girl is beautiful….” One of the guys said and Jaden shot him a hard glare.
“Could you lend her to us, for one night each? Please it’ll be very fun, seeing her sexy body naked on my bed………” The guy couldn’t complete the rubbish he was saying when, Jaden landed a punch on his face.
The guy fell off his seat and landed on the floor with a bruised face.
“Are you mad?!” The other guy yelled and stood.
Jaden stood up and dragged Amelia by the hand out of the store.
“Why did you hit him?” Amelia asked but he remained silent as he got into the car.

“Fine, final exams are next week” Jaden replied.

“What about your future plans with Amelia?” Jordan asked and Jaden looked at him.

“Good luck on your love life” Jordan added and walked away.
Vera dragged Amelia to her room before letting her go.
“Mom, you asked Jaden to stay away from me, why are you behaving this way?” Amelia asked, immediately.
“That’s because he’s not a good person, he killed those men…..”
“He was trying to protect us, if he didn’t do that I might be dead now” Amelia cut her off, sharply.
“And I’m grateful to him for saving us but he’s not the type of person I want you to be associating with” Vera said, calmly.
“But he’s the type of person I want, I love him” Amelia said.
“Love? Do you know what is love?” Vera scoffed.
“I know what I feel for him is real, I really love him and there’s nothing you can do to change my feelings towards him” Amelia said.
“How can you love someone with no future, he kills and…..”
“You don’t have any right to say he doesn’t have a future, you don’t even know anything about him!” Amelia yelled.
“I see he has taught you how to talk back, right?” Vera folded her arms.
“I’m not talking back, I just want you to understand, Jaden is a very nice person, he cares about me and I care about him. I love him and there’s nothing you can do to change that” Amelia said, sniffling as she tried to fight back her tears.
“If you keep up this attitude then we’ll leave for Washington sooner than you expect” Vera snapped.
“I’m not going anywhere” Amelia said and stormed out of the room.
She could hear Vera call after her as she ran into her room.
She shut the door and and turned to find Jaden standing in front of her, she ran and hugged him tightly.
“What’s wrong?” Jaden asked, his voice laced with care.
“It’s nothing” She replied, breaking the hug.
“You don’t have to lie to me, I know you fought with your mom, was it because of me?” He asked.
“No, it has nothing to do with you” She shook her head.
“Really?” He raised a brow.

“I heard your exams are coming soon” Amelia said and he nodded.
“It’s your final year, so you’re going to leave, even Ashlyn, Evelyn and Xavier, I’m going to be all alone” She muttered, sadly.
“I’m going to miss you” She pouted.
“I’m still gonna drop you at school and pick you up, every single day” He said, poking her nose.

“Promise” He smiled, a smile that warmed her heart instantly, her eyes slowly started studying his sharp features, his sharp jawline, his gray eyes, his lips, she felt like pulling him and slamming her lips on his but…. but….

“Am nineteen” She replied, lowly.

“Or… I’ll kill you” She said, jumping on him, he easily caught her.
“You want to kill me?” He asked.
“Yes” She replied, in a tiny voice.
Evelyn was laying on her bed with her phone in her hand, she was so indulged in the movie she was watching, she didn’t notice when someone jump into the room, through the window.
“Hey…” Jerry called from behind and she got startled, her phone flew from her hand and landed on the floor.
She immediately turned and faced Jerry with a frown.
“Look what you just did” She mumbled, picking up the phone from the floor, luckily the screen was still intact.
“Sorry…” He chuckled, touching his hair.
“Is this funny? I almost got a heart attack” She said, sitting on the bed, he came closer and sat next to her.
“What’s up with you and Dylan” Jerry asked, point-blank.
“Nothing much, he kinda likes me and I’ve been ignoring him” She said.
“What about you?” Jerry asked and Evelyn gave him a puzzled look.
“Huh?”
“Do you like him?” Jerry asked.
“No, he’s just a friend” Evelyn replied and Jerry nodded.
“And me? Do you like me?” He asked, she stayed quiet for some seconds before speaking up.
“You’re a friend” She mumbled, awkwardly.
“So you don’t feel anything for me?” He asked, with a smirk.
“I… I don’t…” She started, shuttering as he leaned closer with his eyes on her lips, she closed her eyes.
Jerry bursted into laugher and her eyes flew open.
“I thought you said you don’t feel anything for me, you actually thought I was going to kiss you” He chuckled and she frowned really hard.
“This is not funny!” She yelled, hitting his chest repeatedly, he caught her hand and connected their lips.
The kiss was so deep, it made a cute pop sound when he broke it, she turned away shyly and he smiled.
After a few minutes of silence, she stood up, she brought out Jerry’s book from her bag and gave it to him.
“Here’s your book” She said.
“You can keep it” He handed her the book.
“Why?”
“You’ll need something to remember me when am gone…..” He said.
“Gone where? Are you travelling?” She asked and he shook his head.
“I’m leaving this world forever” He chuckled and she hit his chest hard.
“Stop joking like that, it’s not funny” She frowned.
“But I’m serious…. I have a brain tumor, and my operation is a few weeks from now, I’m not sure I’m going to make it” He said and her eyes widened.
Jaden walked into sam’s house with a pissed look.
“When is the election starting?” Jaden asked.
“One month and some weeks” Sam replied.
“That’s too far, I have another plan” Jaden said.
~NEXT MORNING~
“I didn’t know it was yours” Amelia sighed.
“You knew I left it there, yet you ate it” Jaden said.
“I swear I didn’t know the cookies were yours, I was just really hungry” Amelia said.
“You eat a lot, it makes me wonder where all the food goes, you’re took skinny” Jaden shook his head.

They kept up with their silly argument as they both descended the stairs, as soon as they got downstairs and saw Vera, they kept shut.
Without a word, Vera stood up and left.
“Are you alright?” Jaden asked and Amelia nodded.
“I’m fine, we should go to school” Amelia said and they both left.

“Not really, he’ll be back on his feet’s in a while” Jaden replied.

“But you didn’t let cherry go” Jaden shot.
“That’s because you’re the one that asked me to hit her….” Amelia groaned as they walked away.
The day went by very fast and Amelia soon found herself, in her room with jaden, laying on top of him.
“We should get you a dress soon, the party is in two days” Jaden said.
“I already have some dresses” Amelia replied.
“You’re not gonna wear those boring clothes, we’ll look for some sexy gowns….” Jaden winked.

His hand slowly reached for her middle, as his fingers were about to touch her core, the door cracked open and someone came inside.
“Amelia!” Vera screamed in shock and they both stopped to face her, using the sheet to cover their upper body
Amelia’s heart flew out of her chest, she feels like fainting right now.
