Episode 37 & 38 : The Road to Recovery

“What do you say? Will you be giving your wife a divorce?” Mitchell ask, looking smug and triumphant.
“What do you hope to gain with this? If I perhaps divorce my wife, what benefit will it be for you?” Damian ask in return.
“Just joy, pure joy. It will be so good to see you and June separate. Once you’ve sign the divorce paper, I shall sign the document you need for the investment to begin” Mitchell inform.
“How about you take your investment and get lost. It isn’t joy you seek for Mitchell, you are going to avenge your brother death but you are only wasting your time on us. For we are innocent. Since we are done, I will take my leave” he said, walking pass her table.
“Even if you try to see Mr Parker behind my back, you won’t be able to since I have all the authority here. I will be waiting for you to change your mind and when that happen,you know where to find me” She said behind him and not bothering to give a reply, Damian left.
<< LATER THAT DAY ~ RUTH HOME >>
“The police told me that the escape happen last night. She had fought with her cell mate and as a form of punishment, they had sent her to solitary confinement and it was then the break in happen. Someone help her escape, mom. Do you know who it might be?” June ask Ruth who shook her head in answer.
“Wh…what about our real parents? What do you know about them?” June ask.
“Back at the orphanage. They told me that your mother had died the day she brought you two to live at the orphanage, they had witness her death themselves since she had died while trying to leave, a car accident” Ruth explain.
“Then who could have help Violet get out of jail? Anyway, you and Nathan need to come stay at our place, I can’t have you wandering around while she is out there”
“But….” Ruth words were cut off when June got a call.
Not bothering to know the identity of the caller, she answered and listen for a while.
“Fine then. Let’s meet, where are you?”June ask and listen, then she ended the call.
<< RESTAURANT ~ STILL THAT DAY >>
“I’m here now. Why did you ask to see me?” June ask as she settle on a chair, starring at Mitchell who had a look on her face.
A look which tells June that she knew something she didn’t.
“Sorry for being late. The traffic and all” Sandra, Damian secretary said as she join them.
“Why are you here Sandra? Did you invite her too?” June ask Mitchell.
“I did since I know you won’t believe what I have to tell you. It’s only right that I call in someone you will believe and that’s Sandra, your husband secretary” Mitchell said.
“I thought you ask me to come because you want to sign the document” Sandra said and Mitchell laugh out.
“Of course not! I already made my intention clear when I spoke to Damian earlier. I gave him an ultimatum and he refuse” Mitchell said.
“Hang on a sec. Are you the representative sent by Parker group?” June ask.
“I am. Look, the real reason I called you here is that I want you to talk to Damian, get him to agree to what I want and I will give him all the help he wants”
“And what do you want in exchange for you to give him the money he need?”
“I won’t tell you. It’s best you ask him yourself and convince him to agree to it or he stands to lose everything. From the source I have, I have been told that Brooks international is half way into being bankrupt ” Mitchell said starring at Sandra who look away from her.
“Is what she saying the truth?” June ask Sandra who gave a nod in reluctance.
“Am sure Damian’s hope is this project. With enough Injection of cash, it will put the company back where it belongs but your husband is proving stubborn. He wouldn’t agree to what I want which is very foolish of him” Mitchell said.
“Must you really give out an ultimatum? Why can’t you just help?” June ask.
“Help? You want me to render my help for free, of course not! You all don’t deserve it, you killed my brother” Mitchell accuse.
“I didn’t kill your brother, he jumped off the bridge himself….”
“Only because you forced him to. He loved you but you didn’t and led him to his death and that is something I won’t ever forget” she said, standing up abruptly.
“Make sure you tell Damian this. My offer stands until tonight and if he still refuse then there’s no more deal” She added and left the restaurant.
“Tell me Sandra. Is there no way we can get investment? Aren’t there other company to….”
“We’ve tried all that but nothing. Parker group is our only hope and if that doesn’t work then everything fail” Sandra said.
<< WINTER MANSION ~ EVENING >>
“June! Where have you been? Do you know how worried I was when your mom and Nathan showed up and you were no where to be found?” Damian ask the moment she walk in.
“I was just… I was at the restaurant with someone” June said, pulling away from his embrace to stare at him.
“Violet is out of jail and she might come for you. I don’t want you going out on your own for now, I will reinstate the security service to keep an eye on all of….”
“Can we talk….in private” she said and together they both left to the confine of their room.
“Mitchell called to see me today”.
“And?” Damian ask, tensing up.
“She told me about the company going bankrupt if this project of yours doesn’t go through. Why didn’t you tell me about the bankruptcy?” June ask.
“You shouldn’t be worried about those things. I should….”
“I have to be worried. I am your wife and whatever responsibility you have should be shared with me. What is she asking for? What did she tell you she wants in exchange for us getting the investment”
“It’s best you don’t know. Have got it under control and…”
“Please, tell me what it is”.
“She….she wants us to get a divorce” Damian said forcefully and that stun June into silence.
“See. This is the reason why I didn’t want to tell you, don’t worry about it. Am taking care of things, infact have got a plan”.
“Plan? Will that work? Will that guarantee the company being save cause if it won’t then we might as well give her what she wants” June said.
“You think I will jeopardize our happiness just to save the company? Hell no! We aren’t getting a divorce and that’s final”.
“But the company is something you love too. Will you watch it go bankrupt?”
“I won’t. Which is why I have a plan, a plan that will get me the investment and will keep our marriage save. That crazy Mitchell won’t get her way this time, I promise you” he said, pulling her into his arms to give her a reassuring hug.
<< ROME >>
A man in his early thirties and a woman in her mid fifties stood as a car approach them.
“Is she in there?” The man ask the driver who got out of the car.
“Yes. She woke up during the transfer and we had no choice but to keep her in the booth” the driver said, opening the booth to reveal a tied up Violet.
“What do you think? Will she do?” The man ask the lady who kept starring at Violet in silence.
“What do you think? Will she be able to fool the old man?” The woman ask in return.
“She won’t. I heard from our source that she’s the crazy twin out of the two, she will only be a hindrance to our plan” the man said.
“Then you think June will be the perfect one for the plan?” The lady ask and the man gave a nod.
“June will work out perfectly for our plan. She’s the stable one among the two” The man said.
“What do we do about her then?” The driver ask, referring to Violet.
“Keep her somewhere, she will be useful for something ” the lady was the one to give the order and immediately, the driver got into the car and drove further into the Parker estate.
<< AFTERNOON ~ COURT HOUSE >>
Mitchell and her lawyer were waiting in a room when Damian and June arrive.
“Thought you guys change your mind” Mitchell said, crossing her leg.
“We made our choice when I called you last night. Just like you want, we get a divorce and you give me the investment I want” Damian said.
“Good then. Let’s get to it, I told you two to come here because my lawyer has gotten everything ready, you only have to sign and then we get it notorized ” Mitchell said.
“You really don’t want to leave any loopholes. Must you do this,Mitchell? Will doing this bring back your late brother?” June ask.
“Keep Ronald out of this! You both know why am doing this. I made it clear to you yesterday, so quit the chitchat and sign this paper” Mitchell said as they both walk towards the desk.
“Here you go” Mitchell said, handing them a pen, expecting Damian to sign but instead, he pick up the paper and tore it to shreds.
“What the hell are….”
“Come in” Damian gruff voice came out loud and the door open to reveal a middle age lady and a man in toll.
“I believe you already know who she is, Mitchell” Damian said, starring at a shock Mitchell.
“Mrs Camilla” Mitchell called.
“Mrs Camilla came after hearing about your action. You were right in saying that I won’t be able to get in touch with Mr Parker himself but I got a hold of the vice president, Mr Parker sister and after hearing about my project and your actions, she came to set things in order” Damian said, now looking triumphant.
“Being a representative doesn’t give you the right to blackmail people just to get what you want. Business and personal issue should be separated but you chose to let your personal feelings take over. You would have cost us millions” Camilla said.
“Mrs Camilla I can explain if….”
“I don’t need your explanation. From this moment onward, you are fired. I wonder what my brother saw in you and hired you to be his secretary but from now on,you no longer work for the Parker group” Camila said to Mitchell and then she turn to Damian.
“Am so glad you reach out to me. I will very much like to know more about the project, I will be handling it from now on”.
“Very well then. I better take you to the company to show you everything we’ve done” Damian said, leaving the room with June and Camila.
As soon as they left, Mitchel hit the table in anger and then she pull out her phone to call someone.
“Camilla showed up and have ruin it all. They didn’t get a divorce like we want and as long as Damian is still with June, you won’t be able to get to June. So find a way to correct this!” She said hotly to the unknown on the phone…
Episode 39 & 40 : Fight for Love

“I won’t deny Mr Brooks, I love everything about this project and am sure that if we invest in it, we will be making a large sum of money” Camila Parker said as she took a seat in Damian office.
“Since we are on agreeable terms, you wouldn’t mind signing the contract so we can begin our project” Damian said as Sandra put the contract in front of her and Camila took the pen being offered by Damian to put hee signature on the sheet.
“I hope to see reward soon” Camila said, rising up from her seat.
“You definitely will and err…if you don’t mind, I will like to ask you something” Damian said.
“Ask away” she said, sitting on the chair once again.
“How did your brother get to know Mitchell. Am sorry if am bringing up my personal problem again but I will like to know”
“My brother didn’t know her personally. She was brought in by his wife, Devon Parker and her cousin Justin”
“I have never really like the two of them and when they brought Mitchell in, I dislike her on sight but my gullible brother agreed for her to be his new secretary “.
“Justin and Devon takes care of the Parker company in Rome while I handle the one at Canada which is why I don’t know much about the things happening but when you called me and told me about your project, I knew I couldn’t let it slide which is why I’m here to handle the deal myself” Camila added.
“And that’s something I will be grateful for always. Thanks for answering my question, I will let Sandra escort you out” Damian said as he watch the women leave his office.
With Mitchell out of his way, he can focus on the project.
<< EVENING ~ HOTEL ZEUS >>
Mitchell stood outside the hotel, waiting for someone to show up.
The arrival of a limo got her leaving where she stood to go wait for whoever is alighting the car.
“Took you long enough, Justin” Mitchell said and Justin frown down at her.
“Before you begin to talk, I’d like to go to my room, take me there ” He said and she did as he said.
“They were about to sign the divorce paper when Camila showed up. Why didn’t you give me a heads-up?” Mitchell demand the moment they got into his suite.
“You know a glass of whiskey will do In this kind of situation ” Justin said.
A vex Mitchell went to the drink counter to pour him a glass of whiskey.
“Will you answer me now”
“You see Mitchell, Curiosity kills the cat. Didn’t someone ever tell you that?” Justin ask after drinking the content in the glass.
“Not when this cat is your partner. When I came with the whereabout of Mr Parker twins, you and Devon stop me from saying a thing to Mr Parker and then you told me to help you guys which I agree to. So that makes me your partner”.
“Fine then, what exactly do you want to know Mitchell?” Justin ask.
“Everything, I want to know everything”.
“I will start from the begining. Parker once had a wife which out of stupidity he let her go and to get her revenge on him, she didn’t tell him that she’s expecting his twin. Twin who turn out to be June and Violet”.
“It was years later that he found out about it but his wife had died and there was no trace of his twin. It would have been great for Devon and I if he never knew of their existence but his stupid investigator got a whiff that his twin is alive and that got Parker changing his will, leaving everything to his twin”.
“The foolish old man didn’t even leave anything for Devon who is his wife and me,who have been doing everything for his company to grow. Then you showed up with the whereabout of his twin and it was then we decided to make things work in our favour ” Justin said, leaving his seat to go pour himself another drink.
“Our plan initially is to get one of his twin, get her to be on our side so when she inherits the fortune Parker leaves for her , we will get some for ourselves”.
“So who do you think will be more reliable between the twin? Violet or June” Mitchell ask.
“We’ve seen Violet already but one look at her and Parker wouldn’t want to leave his fortune to her which is why we have decided to go with June”.
“From what you’ve told me, she is the better twin, right?”
“She is but there is the hurdle of her husband. Damian won’t let his wife leave with you or anyone else” Mitchell said.
“Why should we bother telling him when we can take her from him”
“You plan on kidnapping her?” Mitchell ask.
“Bingo. Since they manage to get out of the divorce,they must be one strong couple but we must end that if we want to accomplish our goal”
“I still don’t get something. If you succeed in kidnapping June, will she be willing to do everything you ask of her?”
“She won’t! Being the good one, she won’t want to deceive her long lost father but Devon and I have something plan for that too. You see, Devon has this crazy doctor friend, he deals with all kind of drug and one of it causes memory loss, once we inject the drug into her, every of her life history goes blank” Justin said, smiling as he visualize the whole thing.
“Well since you’ve got it all covered. I just have to play along. What do you want me to do now?”
“For now, I want you to keep befriending Damian sister, she will be playing a crucial part in our plan”
“That’s easy”.
“Good then. You can leave now, I need to get some rest, it’s been a long flight” he said,stretching.
“Sure but one thing. Don’t go falling for June too, I have had enough of men around me falling for that dumb girl”
“Jealous she stole the man you love” Justin mock and she rolled her eyes at him.
“Once you take her to Rome, I will get to have Damian to myself”.
“Don’t worry. Have seen Violet already and if they are identical, June wouldn’t be any different from her and girls like that don’t shift a thing in my body” Justin assured her and when Mitchell left.
Mark, Justin personal bodyguard came into the suite with his suitcase.
“Did you see the girl that just left my suite?” Justin ask and he gave a nod.
“She will be next person you get rid of for me but for now, she’s still useful to us, so let her be” Justin told him and he nodded again since he hardly talk, he is like Justin terminator who he use in getting rid of people who gets in his way.
“Leave my things there. We are going out together, have got to see what this other twin looks like”
<< ROME ~ PARKER RESIDENCE >>
Devon left the pool area, heading into the house to begin her mandatory wife task.
She roll her eyes in annoyance as she walk into the room Lionel Parker was.
As soon as the old man saw her, he told his nurse to leave and urge Devon to come seat with him.
“It’s been two days since you’ve come see me. Afraid to contact my disease?” Lionel ask and she shake her head, forcing fake tears to her eyes.
“You know I don’t think like that and you don’t have a disease that will be contaminated, you only have cancer, stage four to be precise” Devon said.
“Which is slowly killing me. My only regret is that, I won’t ever meet my children” Lionel said sadly.
“You will live long enough to meet them and….do you still insist on putting your twin down as the sole inheritor? What about Justin and I? You didn’t leave anything for us” the moment Devon said that, the old man pull his hand away.
“I left you two something already”.
“You call two cottages and your villa in the Caribbean an inheritance? Don’t you think we deserve more?” Devon ask.
“That’s all am going to give you. Let’s end this conversation, I need to sleep” He said, turning his back on her.
She glared at him for a while and left his room. Ignoring the greeting from the maid, she went straight to the basement which two of her most trusted men were guarding.
As soon as she walk in, she saw Violet tied with chain on the floor while her doctor friend, Sky, stood beside a table, mixing chemicals together.
“How is she?” Devon ask.
“Just as you want her to be. I have been injecting into her the drug, its the kind which will kill her slowly” Sky said.
“What about the other one for the June twin?”
“It’s prepared too. I gave it to Justin and am preparing more for future purpose”.
“Very well done, Sky” she said, giving him a kiss.
She went to Violet who look weak due to the drug being injected into her.
“W…who are….you bitch?” Violet ask and that got Devon laughing.
“Well bitch! I am your daddy wife and I will be the one who end your life. Don’t worry, even after your death, you will be playing an important role for us” Devon said, hitting her on the head.
Her phone began to ring and on seeing the caller, she immediately pick up.
“About time you call. What’s happening there in Australia?” Devon ask.
“Nothing serious. Am just keeping a eye on our prey” Justin said.
“You mean you’ve met June?”
“Not exactly but I will soon. Just take care of things there and I will take care of things here”.
“Don’t worry, have got it all handled”
“Good then. Just called to let you know that my plane landed safe, I have to go for now ” He said and end the call.
In the confine of his car, Justin sat watching June and a friend of hers in the open cafe.
The girl said something that got June laughing.
Seeing this, Justin let down the wind screen to see June clearly and slowly, a smile spread across his mean face.
“Interesting”
Episode 41 & 42 : A New Threat

The shrill of the telephone woke Justin up from his deep slumber.
He let out an angry groan before picking the phone.
“What the f**k have you been doing! For gawd sake have been trying to get to you but it just keeps on ringing!” Devon scream down the line.
“I was busy but now you have me. What do you want?”
“The doctor came to see the old man and the diagnosis is bad. He has just up to three months to live and we need him to meet with June before that time,we need to make sure that he leaves everything to her and that’s only going to happen when he change his will” Devon inform.
“So we’ve got to push our plan forward?” Justin said, already guessing what she was thinking.
“Hang up, I need to talk to Mitchell” he said and when Devon end the call, he made a call to Mitchell room and after the third ring, Mitchell finally answered.
“Get your @ss over here, we have a plan to make” he said into the receiver.
<< WINTER MANSION >>
“Stop it Mirabel, I already told you that am not going to get involve with him, he’s an in-law to me and added to it, he is just nineteen, too young for me” Davina said,speaking to her friend on the phone while making her way to the pool side.
“Stop with your madness and….” Whatever else she was going to say flew right out of her head the moment she saw Nathan coming out of the water.
He had on a little swim suit which did nothing to hide his masculinity and his body….his body is just so perfect.
“Are you there,Davina?” Mirabel intruding voice jolt her back to reality.
“Yes, I am. Look, can we talk some other time. Goodbye” she said ending the call.
Nathan must have seen her because he began to pick up his things, preparing to leave.
“Are you leaving because of me? You can stay, I won’t bite you” Davina said, her eyes fix on his abs.
“It’s not that. Have been swimming for the past one hour and it’s wearing me out, I just think it’s time I leave” Nathan said, forcing a civil smile on his face.
“Do you know that you have the most handsome smile?” Davina said before she could stop herself.
“Er….thanks. Thanks for the compliment, see you later” he said, quickly dashing off.
Davina bit her lips, daydreaming about Nathan when she got another call.
“Davina, it’s me, Mitchell”.
“You’ve got a nerve calling me after you left without saying a thing . I thought we were best friends!”
“It’s because of that that I didn’t say a word to you. I know you will be worried and I didn’t want that”
“Well, either way, I was worried about you. You are my friend, best friend to be precise” Davina countered.
“And you are mine too which is why am calling you. Let me take you out today to make it up to you”
“Fine and you better take me to an expensive place”.
“I will but just one thing. Can June come too, it’s just that I have something to get her forgiveness for” Mitchell said, explaining the whole divorce thing.
“You did that! Common girl, you went too far!” Davina rebuke.
“I know which is why I need to get her forgiveness. I went to see Damian yesterday and he told me to get June’s forgiveness before he forgives me. Can you help this friend of yours?” Mitchell ask.
“Fine! I will see what I can do. If she…perhaps agree to join us, where should we meet you?” Davina ask.
“Well, there’s this house am thinking of purchasing. We can all go…..”
<< DAMIAN AND JUNE’S ROOM >>
June had just put on her favourite cologne when the knock came.
“Hope am not bothering you?” Davina ask as she came into the room.
“You are not” June reply, wondering what brought her sister in law to see her when she has never done that.
“I….er….it’s a little bit complicated” Davina said, looking nervous.
“Just spill it”
“I got a call from Mitchell and she invited us out, she wants to use our outing to apologise to you” Davina said.
“Apologise?”
“For her recent behavior. She already apologise to Damian and she also wants to apologise to you”
“Well…am not sure if I can go. I have things to do at work and….”
“And you are the boss wife. A few hours spent outing with me won’t take a toll on you, please come ” Davina beg, holding onto June’s hand.
“Fine then, spending a few hours outing won’t hurt anyone” June said, agreeing to go out with them because she wants to bond with her sister in law.
A while later, June sat beside Davina at the restaurant while Mitchell knelt on the floor beside her, causing curious glance from the other customer.
“Am sorry. I was just so angry at life and everyone, my brother died and I thought the people who killed him are living happily while he is six feet under, I wanted revenge and did the stupid thing I did. Can you ever find a way to forgive me” Mitchell plead.
“Why don’t you get up and we….”
“No! I will stay like this until I get your forgiveness ” Mitchell said, still kneeling on the floor.
“Fine then, you have it , now get up ” June said, only because people kept starring and some were even taking pictures.
“This is great. Now I hope we can all be friends” Mitchell said and June could only fake a smile in return.
“So, you talked about a house. Aren’t we going to take a look at it?” Davina ask and an hour later.
The three of them stood in an empty apartment, giving their opinion since Mitchell said she didn’t know if she should buy it or not.
“You know what, we should talk about this while feasting on something. On our way here, I notice a chicken and salad shop, why don’t you go get it for us Davina” Mitchell said, giving Davina the money and reluctantly, Davina went to get the food.
“So, what do you think of this house? Do you like it?” Mitchell ask.
“I do but it’s a bit too flashy for my liking, well you might like things to be a bit flashy and since it’s your house, you can do what you want with it and…..”
“But I think Damian will love it” Mitchell said, a mischievous look on her face.
“What does Damian have to do with this?”
“You see, I plan on bringing him here when you are long gone. The bedroom precisely will be where he stays and we will f**k in the morning,afternoon and night. I’m going to please him the way he deserves that he won’t have time thinking about you” Mitchell told her.
“You are sick! I knew it is too soon for you to change” June said as the door burst open and five men dress in black came in.
They had their face covered up and were holding a gun each.
“I am not the one you are looking for. She is, she is the one!” Mitchell yell when two men grab her while the other two grab June.
“What are you doing! Who are you people! Let go of me!” June said trying to break free but the last guy left, walk towards her and injected something on her neck.
Immediately, she fell asleep and they carried her out of the apartment.
“Tell them to let me go! I’m working with Justin!” Mitchell said to the guy who had injected June.
“To make it seem real. The boss has instructed me to do this” the guy said and punch Mitchell on the face.
Mitchell fell on the floor, holding onto her broken nose while groaning in pain.
“He said it’s the only way people will believe your story and find you innocent” the man said and left with his companion.
That was how Davina found Mitchell when she return.
“What the hell happen to you? Where’s June?” Davina ask, helping Mitchell to seat up, giving her an handkerchief to use in stopping the bleeding.
“We were talking about the house and some men barge in. They took June and when I tried to do something, they hit me….I’m so sorry Davina but June is gone” Mitchell said, faking her tears.
<< HOSPITAL>>
“So you are saying there’s nothing wrong with me doc and that I can have a child if I want to?” Damian ask the doctor and he nodded.
“Your medical test shows that you are healthy enough to have a child with your spouse”.
“But the doctor I talked to the last time told me that I can’t have a child”.
“It must have been a wrong diagnosis and that’s why we advice people to always get a second opinion” the doctor said and Damian smile in relief.
“Thanks a lot doc, if I have anything more to talk about, I will contact you” he said and left the doctor office.
He was waiting for his chauffeur to arrive with his car when he got a call from Davina.
“What’s wrong?” Damian tense up when he heard the tears in her voice.
“It’s….it’s June… She has been kidnap” Davina said and not bothering to wait for his car to arrive, he took to his heels.
<< HOURS LATER ~ ROME ~ PARKER RESIDENCE~ PRIVATE ROOM >>
“Is everything ready with the other girl?” Justin ask as he sat beside the bed, watching June sleep.
“It is ready. Have send the men and the body on their way to Australia” Devon answered.
“Sky injected the drug in her again. Do you think it’s going to work?” Devon ask just as June open her eyes.
Justin, help her seat up. Cradling her like she was a porcelain, his porcelain.
“Are you okay?” Justin ask and June gave them a blank look.
“Who are you? Where am I? What happen? I can’t recall a thing” June said softly.
“Do you remember who you are? Your name perhaps?” Devon ask.
“My name….my name…. it’s called….I don’t remember” June said and Devon smiled.
“Don’t worry, everything will come in due time but you should know now that you are Violet Parker and she is Devon Parker your mother and I am Justin Miller, your fiance” Justin said as June stare at him.
“My fiance?”
“Yes, your fiance. We got engage a month ago” he reply, taking hold of her hand to kiss it…..
